Hi everyone, A beginner interested in Fengshui here, looking to seek some guidance on determining a unit's direction facing using a BTO site plan layout. I understand that there is the North needle at the bottom of the layout, but how do I actually determine the direction? Things like sitting and facing? I am keen in checking the direction of stack 629. Would greatly appreciate your guidance!

ANY ISSUE WITH A GENSET? It’s really quite unusual to see a genset in HDB public housing, since a genset is usually only found in mid to large-sized condominium developments. Honestly, it’s not an issue, because such gensets are rarely used in Singapore as power disruptions are uncommon. And these gensets are also not tested very frequently—at most once a year, and often not at all. LOL.

In Close Proximity to the Common Bin Lobby Having a Common Bin Lobby near your property’s front door is generally considered poor external Feng Shui. According to Feng Shui principles, being close to waste disposal areas can create negative energy around your home. Additionally, even if you are comfortable with this, it may discourage potential buyers from purchasing the unit in the future. +++ For Block 446B Stack #322, the common bin is in close proximity to the common bins

Unit near or facing an Electrical Sub-Station (ESS) While there are no proven health effects from living near an Electrical Sub-Station (ESS), being close to one can still impact the resale value of your property. Even if you personally don’t mind, some potential buyers may have concerns or negative perceptions, which could make the unit harder to sell or result in a lower selling price compared to units farther from such facilities.

Considering a unit at HDB Sembawang Voyage? Watch out for kitchens located in the northwest sector. Case Study: If you don't want the male breadwinner’s career to be impacted, make sure south-facing units do not have their kitchens, especially the stove, in the northwest sector. Sample illustration of a typical HDB unit facing south or southeast 1. Based on a quick review of just one stack or unit, for example, it’s clear that both the kitchen and the stove inevitably end up in the inauspicious Fire at Heaven’s Gate—the northwest sector. A quick sample shows that stacks 110 and 122 have kitchens located in the northwest sector. Many other southeast-facing units are also affected. Considering a South-facing (S2) unit at Penrith? Watch out for kitchens located in the northwest sector. Are there any concerns about having a view of the Precinct Pavilion? If you can’t see the Pavilion, you might still hear noise from it. How does that happen? 1. If your unit faces the Precinct Pavilion, try to pick a higher floor to avoid looking into it. Funeral Wakes can happen without warning and may take place during special occasions such as Chinese New Year. 2. Even if your unit doesn’t face the Pavilion, you might still hear activities if you live nearby, like chanting or music played at a Malay wedding. Absolutely great that the placement of the precinct pavilion at one end of HDB Bishan Terraces, away from residential units, is excellent planning. This thoughtful design helps reduce potential concerns such as noise or undesirable views during certain events, creating a more comfortable and harmonious living environment for residents.
