Dear Miriam, Yes, one of these alternatives is meant to "neutralise" the beam. Even under current situation (without a neutralsing agent); it is felt that one must be underneath the beam for more than 2hours per day per year to have any effects. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi, cecil. I was reading as you recommended, the email about the sterling condo. There's talk of the double 7s and thehy are good. What is this exactly? You also mention the lift well being a negative thing if close tot the door. Why is that? Thanks Analia

Dear Peck Wun, The placement of a sofa should align with the layout of your living or dining room area. For instance, if your space has an `L'-shaped configuration, it’s best to divide it into two smaller rectangles from a top view, aiming to create a more rectangular arrangement. In this case, you can use your sofa to organize even a long rectangular room into smaller rectangles. There’s no need for a divider or supporting cabinet behind the sofa set. Be mindful of placing the sofa under a beam, but it’s perfectly fine if the sofa isn’t backed against a wall. This is common in homes with fireplaces, where sofas often surround the fireplace without being placed again…

In my opinion, this condo has bad layout plans. These are recent pictures taken on Sunday, 30 June 2002. Two of the pictures showing advertising for unsold units. TOP was in 2000. These units are 2 years old.

For a house which has sloping back and in this example with a major road at it's back, such retaining brick walls are ideal. Notice that the retaining wall(s) are of sufficient height.

Dear Peck Wun, Usually the auspicious dates would have at least (if not very auspicious, auspicious). Besides these, do look for alternative dates e.g. `Average' days. The main concern is to start work during the Chinese 7th month which is on / between 9 August 2002 to 5 September 2002. During this period, it is advisable not to move-in or start renovation work on any of these dates. But, one can choose an auspicious date in July to start work. (This is OK). I also attached a house moving ritual in simple .txt format. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear All, In Hong Kong, Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation HQ building took a desperate attempt to place two cannons. Hong Kong Feng Shui practitioners spare no efforts to use `black' feng shui on others. Even in Singapore, some buildings were built on `black' Feng Shui e.g Suntec City. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. This painting is by a very famous Chinese painter by the name of Xu Bei-hong. 2. Xu Bei-hong, born in 1895 and died in 1953. Nowadays, this paintings are much sought after by collectors. And many forgeries of this painting is floating around. 3. For many Chinese businessmen, they love to place a painting of galloping horses. It can be 6, 8 or 9 horses. 4. Here, these businessmen, would normally place the painting on the same wall as the Main entrance door. 5. This symbolises, the horses, galloping out of the main entrance door, to get more business. 6. Do note that the horses do not face inwards of the door. 7. Please note that I am suggesting that you go out and go b…

Dear Vince, 1. Attached, please find a graphic illustration of the " rectangular " court-yard + the Chinese (mandarin) character for tree. 2. The two combined is called " KUN " or trapped or imprisoned. 3. This is another aspect of Symbolism in Feng Shui. 4. However, so long as you do not place any tree especially a single tree / plant at the this centrepoint, it is still acceptable. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee

1. How true is this statement? 2. Well, if you ask me in Singapore, this is very true! In the attached article, you can find out that Singapore families queue up 4 nights in a row just to book a government apartment. 3. In our culture, we hear this term in our daily life: The Kiasu Singaporean. 4. Meaning of Kiasu: Hokkien for "afraid to lose". eg Kiasu Singaporeans will camp overnight for free stuffs. Or in this case.. camp overnight to "book" or buy something... like property? 5. You can also take our `local test' to see whether you are equally considered as a "Kiasu". *JOKE* Can you fit the Singaporean image? Check out this url: http://www.med.nus.edu.sg/pcm/stress/Ki…

If the Main Door is important to you, I am sure, this article will be of interest to you. Please read on..... Note: In case you want to visit the Property Developer's Website featured in this article here is the URL: Visit Wing Tai Asia - Property In my opinion, Wing Tai Asia, is a `new kid' on the block with regards to it's Property Development scene in Singapore. Their core business is related to "clothing" and is still today. *JOKE* Erh...Perhaps or maybe, they should simply stick to it! Source & Credit: The Straits Times, Singapore 18 April 2002

1. As mentioned earlier, a butterfly's life span is very short. 2. Do you know how long it lives? 3. Yes / No? In fact, on the average, a typical butterfly has a lifespan of only TWO WEEKs. (Yes, 2 short weeks or a fortnight). 4. Can u imagine that? This is why, butterfly buildings (SYMBOLICALLY) are not favoured in Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Note: The full edited Case Study is found here:- http://sg.geomancy.net/about/location-mainpage/location-mainpage.htm This is a continuation of Part I: Site location of Geomancy.net office and Part II: Case Study of Geomancy.net Office. (These postings are also in this same conference. Just a few messages below.) This picture shows the walk-up entrance to our office. You will also notice the greenery that often attracts birds and butterflies. (Sometimes the dreaded .... honet bee). But often the honet bee does no harm; in-fact, they help polinate the plants and flowers in our garden. In addition, there are lots of flowers growing and usually, it is good to grow plants - a…

In a recent forum message, a Singaporean had asked about drop-off points curving into their block of flats. During one of my audits of new Housing and Development Board (HDB) - i.e. government built flats which numbers around 80 percent of the total housing needs of Singaporeans. I taken this set of photos showing the common type of curve-in drop-off points. In my opinion, there is really no `Sha qi' issue for flats close to this drop-off point. In addition, this type of drop-off point is located within the small `private' road of the estate. And does not pose Sha Qi. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Enclosed please find in MS word format, a typical Hokkien Wedding Custom. For the modern Hokkien some of the practises are not practised today. However, the essence of the custom has been recorded for information. If you find some of the customs appropriate for you, do apply them! In the word document, there is reference of the " double happiness " Chinese wedding symbol. You can find out more of this symbol here:- http://www.geomancy.net/mypictures/cgi-bin/mypictures.cgi?img=0&search=happiness&cat=all&bool=and&x=13&y=15 Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. In this layout plan, there is a `close-call' towards nature's call. 2. This layout is not-as-auspicious since the toilet bowls of the shared toilet and master bedroom are close to the centre-point of the house. 3. Owner will not be able to `retain cash'. And finance is always up and down with little savings left - at the end of the day. 4. If specific windows are opened in the living room; there is a direct path or sha qi from the main door to the balcony or living room window. This is `curable'. But secondary to the `toilet bowl' issue. Suggestion: If CAN, AVOID buying this unit.

Note: The full edited Case Study is found here:- http://sg.geomancy.net/about/location-mainpage/location-mainpage.htm Dear All, 1. This is a mini tour of Geomancy.Net's office location. 2. Why is the location chosen? Geomancy.net is located in a low-lying, basin location. In Singapore, this location called `Yio Chu Kang' is particularly auspicious. One Feng Shui Master even mentioned that it is Singapore's "Only Feng Shui cricket' land that is active and wields great supernatural power." Overall, this location is considered very auspicious. 3. This is the first paranomic picture from the inside of Geomancy.net looking outwards. 4. In the paranomic picture, you can have …
