These are some considerations:- 1. If Feng Shui is used as a diagnostic tool to determine whether it can or cannot help; 2. Such key success factors include things like:- 2.1. Ba zi analysis of the individual. As some individuals are better to work for others than to do own business 2.2. Earth Luck: A detailed look at the earth luck: luck from one's home and work / shop 3. The above are generally the set of Holistic Approach to Feng Shui. 4. External Factors: 4.1. Please note that good Geomancers can often distinguish whether a business can be helped by Feng Shui or NOT. As Feng Shui is not a cure all for everything even business failures. 4.2. For example, in Si…

These are some of the considerations:- You wrote: 2.2 I found that the only suitable place for us to move the main door is at the north sector, but it would face NE or NW, which are both unauspicious direction. Is there any suggestions? Reply: Shifting the main door is often temporary. Furthermore; one has to take extra care in shifting the door as the wrong angle or degree is not beneficial. You wrote: 2.1 Our house is facing SW, kitchen at S, and toilet at E, Living room NE. I did propose to renovate the house so that it incorporate with the Bazi and the 8 Mansion's auspicous place, but both my parents are against it. Is the a way to Lower the effect? Reply: You have …

Dear Anon, In my opinion, such a figurine does not figure in Feng Shui. Therefore, since you really loved it, feel free to display it anywhere you like it to be. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Jazz, Jazz jazz wrote: with regars to checking own zi wei dou shu, would like to check how much difference it will make if time of birth is wrong, eg bet 1am and 1pm? In ba zi, time of birth may affect some of the character analysis and overall five element percentage. But in general, only a few hours really differ from having only the day of birth analysed. Unless element strength is different (ie weak water changed to strong water), there will no be too great a difference. Often, our advise is not sure, take an analysis without the hour of birth as the foundation analysis. In Zi Wei Dou Shu (Chinese Astrology/Horoscope), it is also quite similiar, the likelyhood…

Dear Anon, Please see below:- 1. It is essential to thoroughly examine the potential risks associated with determining whether the main entrance is located in the South-West or South-East direction. 2. In this context, it is advisable to adhere strictly to a comprehensive methodology. For instance, the guidelines available at http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm provide a complete set of instructions that can help classify a house as being in the South-East. 3. Numerous alternative methods exist for this purpose. Typically, when utilizing a Luopan, it is employed to assess both the sitting and facing directions of a property. 4. The …

Dear Anon, 1. As all of us is aware, there are lots of practititioners and their skill level and methods used. 2. As you have not mentioned whether the practititioners used the following theories: a. Shapes and Form School To access both the interior and exterior of the home. b. Flying Star Chart This is to analyse the birth chart of the house and check for imbalances and Qi enhancements (e.g. activating mountain or water stars). c. Relate the above to the Eight House (Suitablity of the house and the influence of bedroom) d. Pillars of Destiny To obtain the true element and strength and to check the season of influence. 3. Not all FS audits under Para a, b, c and d are d…

Dear Anon, Please see below:- Generally, it is acceptable to plant the additional flower bushes. Like all plants, they need frequent trimmings (especially, if they had grown / mature). Usually, there is no specific plants that one should keep, but rather, plant plants that are commonly found to thrive and flower in my specific country. It would be nice to see the flowers bloom. Yes, we live in a practical world. Where, we do have things that we keep near our bed. Usually, one do not need to shift it. The only thing is if we can try (where possible to avoid) a sharp corner (if we can). But as you mentioned that it is a small cupboard, it is still acceptable to lea…

Dear Denise, This url shows how two flutes are `tradtionally' hung to neutralise a beam:- http://www.geomancy.net/mypictures/cgi-bin/imagesearch.cgi?img=0&search=flute&cat=all&x=9&y=7 In your case, for a long hall, usually, potted plants along sections of the hall are used instead to `break' the `long' hall rather than the use of flutes. Dear Freddy, For Nine Star Ki application, you can perhaps purchase books from Nine Star Ki authors. John Sandifier's book is `more technical' and relates to 9 Star Ki (calculation). You can perhaps purchase books by Simon Brown on Nine Star Ki applications. I believe his titles are like Feng Shui for the Home / Feng Shui for the Office. Do search eg. amazon.com for these authors. In general, although you are considered 6 White Metal Element, in my personal opinion, doing or just concentrating only on a specific sector such as the bedroom does not necessarily yield `positive' results. The Key Success Factor in the use of Feng Shui and other disciplines such as Pillars of …

Dear Mogford, 1. I understand your `problem' faced trying to apply Feng Shui to your boat house. 2. A boat house is quite `similar' to a small apartment and dormitory. 3. Applying Feng Shui to your boat house is indeed very difficult and because of space constraints or the uniqueness of the layout, there is not much `enhancements' one can do other than: 3.1 To make the house boat as `cosy' or comfortable to the individual. 3.2 Application of Shapes and Forms is more crucial i.e. `parking' the boat in a secured and sheltered environment. Here, it is like houses which is on a barren land and subject to strong force of wind blowing. It is such unprotected situations e.g. sto…

Dear Donna, Please see below:- Based on your description, it does not seem that your main door is in any direct threat unless:- 1. there are supporting posts or struts or lone lamp posts that slices thru your main door. 2. I believe, there is usually a personal compound at the frontage of your house or main door. Para 1 is the main concern. Otherwise, small driveways e.g. neighbour's car porch is in my opinion, no threat to your home. Best of Luck:) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Chris, Chris Yeo wrote: I am interested in buying a condo on the 14th floor whosehall and 2 bedrms face a HDB carpark where the cars when moving in the carpark, would face it directly. Pls let me know if there is any cause for concern. If you are on a low floor (below 5 level), you will be affected by it. Those, staying in the 2nd and 3rd floor will be worst hit. Since you are staying on 14th floor, it will not impact you any more, as you are too high up for anything to have much impact for your unit. So it should not be a problem for you. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, 1. Most of the time, Hong Kong practitioners use the Fish Tank (with goldfish) to neutralise sha qi. Such as to neutralise a lamp post which is considered the wood element (Because if one imagine a tree, it is tall and thin like a lamp post. 2. Usually, most of the practitioners should have an understanding of Flying Star theory. If so, they should be able to advise their clients whether or not, rocks (earth) may or may not be detrimental to a sector. 3. So they should be able to advise their clients when not to place rocks = earth at certain sectors. Because earth, if placed in a `Big Earth' or also called 5 yellow (because Big Earth = 5 and earth is yellow)…

Dear Regina, Thank you for your file attachment of your bedrom. Yes, looks like the current arrangement is OK. Since, there are two sets of windows and your bed is further away from the bedroom door. The windows behind the bed: ========================== Often, this is commonsense than Feng Shui. But since Feng Shui works on commonsense, it applies: since, we may never know, who may peep on us, from behind. It is nice to have, the bed head, suit your Eight House. Yes, priority should go to "destroy" #5, first. In some instances, Fire can still be used. But often, if it is #2. For #5, where earth keeps on accumulating, a fire cure may not be feasible since, as yo…

Dear Karen, The problem with auspicious and inauspicious number is that there are many many different ways at looking at it. For example, 4 in cantonese sounds like Die, but 4 is used in like 4 leave clover to represent good luck. So auspicious numbers to different people may mean differently. Some people like 4 others hate it. It is really subjective. In terms of feng shui one way of checking if any large number is good or not is to convert it to a single digit. ie 39 = 3+9 = 12 = 1+2 = 3. If 3 is an auspicious gua number for you, then it should be fine. ie 44 = 4+4 = 8. If 8 is an auspicious gua number for you, then it is fine. Or it represents the current flyin…

Dear Patti, 1. Before coming to your question, for those who are new to Chinese customs, can find that during the wedding, for some Chinese, it is a custom to get a `handsome' baby boy to roll on the wedding bed several times. In the hope that the couple becomes fertile and give birth to a MALE child. 2. It is thus a taboo to allow a baby GIRL to roll on the bed! Wait.. u mean even if it is such a beautiful FEMALE child... Unfortunately, yes. 3. From my personal experience, what you mentioned dwell more on beliefs than Feng Shui. 4. Due to our present lifestyle and even (I believe) the food that we eat etc... fertility has more to do with us then on Feng Shui. 5. In some…

Logically, if it is a "new" as in brand new home; there is no issue with construction be it good or bad sectors. Thus if you really mean NEW; then a newly built home from scratch is a very common thing: For example, someone booked a terrace home and it is under construction and have not even moved in yet. Is this is a case of over-reacting? Move-in procedures can be found under this url: http://info.geomancy.net and the usual practise of selecting a good date to move-in. For the Chinese, they don't really like to move in on the lunar 6th month; 7th month and the month of the Qing Ming also. Dear Anon, Please see below:- Usually, without much analysis in Feng Shui, as you have mentioned, it would be preferred not to use red carpeting in a room especially in the bedroom. 1. Red is considered th most yang colour and bedroom should usually have more yin (rest) than yang (activity). 2. Depending on the sector, or compass directions, it would not be too ideal to have red at the South side or sector as it represents the `fire' element. 3. It should preferably not good to use a blue colour for the bedsheet as there would be an extreme contrast of red and blue where both can easily clash. Perhaps, you can try to use a lighter shade of blue or grey. Thank you…

Dear Felicity, In my opinion, it would be more frutiful to try to boost our luck in other areas (if we can). Namely under: 1. Feng Shui of the home - Shapes and forms of the home - Others such as Flying Star. 2. Pillars of destiny - personal luck. 3. Protect the house such as the main entrance door or windows from poison arrows. 4. As for how to counteract the effects of having the main entrance door under `death sector' ... we can do only that much ie. to comfort ourselves such as, closing the door when not in use or keep the location bright. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Unforunately, everyone like to be able tobenefit from any goodcombination of stars. But often when there is an additional star that breaks the combination, then the priority is to just neturalise the impact of the star 2 so that the remaining stars can still give you the benefit of the combination. So apply metal cure to attempt to balance up the sector especially to neturalise the star 2. Then it can be conv…
