Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Hi, My husband and I are staying in a flat where our main door is directly facing the kitchen door. I know that it is not auspicious. It's not possible for us to shift to another flat, is there any remedy for this? Is there space available between the main door and the kichen door? If yes, then you can try to put some partition to prevent the kichen door from being seen directly. This is the best possible solution if any. Hope that helps. Thanks Master. I guess as long as someone keep his/her house neat & tidy, he/she should be comfortable staying in it.

Hello Sir, We recently moved to a new home. The main door faces NE and opens inside to a small landing space with the kitchen right in front of it. The kitchen opens to a balcony. So from the main door you can directly look into the balcony. I try to keep the kitchen door closed as much as possible. Does this require to be rectified ? If so how ? The gas is placed in a position where we face NW while cooking. Thank you for the input

Dear Anon, Frankly, there is no harm in placing a cross on your door. Often, when we read about Feng Shui, often it is not good to have two doors directly facing each other. This is because, there may be a possibility or a high probability of logger-heads between the two parties. For example, small things such as shoes strewn along the main enterance or noise coming from the neighbour. Even uneasyness of lack of privacy if both parties open their doors is considered unfavourable. Given all these, there is therefore a high chance of neighours being irritated with each other. A Lose-Lose situation? A lose-lose situation is when each party view the other with concern. For e…

Thanks Generally, that is why finding a house that is suitable is important before you even buy the house. Once you have bought it, it will not be possible to change it. So you can only try to fix up any existing leaks in the house, fix andmaximise yourflying star house luck, andimprove your own ba zi luck by having more of your favourable eleme…

Further to what I had mentioned earlier, Why is there no worries about Obsessivecompulsive disorder = OCD? Majority of homes should easily weather themselves from bad situations with or without Feng Shui. Those who want to play safe, can have the benefit of applying some of these concepts:- * Fix-the-Leak, First! * Situational Approach * The Concept of Maximizing Marks * The Concept of Feng Shui by Exception * The Customer Engineer Concept * The Three-Step-Approach You mean to say that in addition to all your worldly concerns each year; for some; ensuring that their child has everything for the coming new year school semester; your job; your family needs; yet..…

Dear Donna, 1. Yes, based on your description, this is indeed a threat to your home. The test is to stand inside the house looking out of the main door. If you can see the threat coming, then it is a threat or poison arrow. 2. If there is a small roof or rain shelter at the frontage of your house you can use a 6 rod metal wind chime to neutralise it. Since most roofs are constructed with wood. And under the five elements concept: Metal can destroy wealth. 3. Alternatively, in the east or Far East, Ba Gua mirror is often placed above the main door to serve as a protection from these. You can do a SEARCH for the various types. Or go to the conference: Photo Tours of Interes…

Dear Miriam, Indeed, one may utilize one of these options. However, in numerous situations, it could encroach upon a neighbor's frontage. Therefore, in certain cases, it is not practical. Conversely, if it has not yet undergone renovation, one can employ a protruding floor tile. I had previously shared an image illustrating this. Here is another image (illustration) that exemplifies the aforementioned protrusion. In fact, this method has been implemented in several condominiums in Singapore. One such location is the Signature Park Condominium, which was developed by City Developments, a subsidiary of the Hong Leong Group. Warmest Regards, Cec…

Dear Master Cecil Lee, In year 2005. every Feng Shui practioner claimed Main door facing North will enjoy good fortune throughout the year. Is there any feng shui enhancer which I can use to activate the luck. Mi wife is born in the year of Tiger (1962) is facing with a lot of work related problems in the office. The branch head and the head of department are giving her a lot of problems. It seem that few persons in the office are jealous about her position and trying to get her out from her position. Her colleagues are spreading uncalled remarks and criticisms about her. These are very strong indication of her weakness in her career. Is there any remedy to strenghten…

Dear Anon, Applying Feng Shui is also very similar to taking an examination. For example, many of us can remember having to take say an examination that requires us to answer 4 questions out of 10 questions. Here, many of us would recall our teachers teaching us examination techniques. And the advise by our teacher is to try to attempt to answer all 4 questions instead of only 3. For example, in the past, how many of us do not allocate time for each question. Thus in a 2 hour paper, and if we need to answer 4 questions, this means that we should allocate 30 minutes for each question. How many of us do not do this and as a result, managed to answer only 3 questions and…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: We bought a new house. The main door is facing NW. Heard the 'wu-huang-sha' (5-yellow-sha) is on NW this year 2005 so it is not good to renovate. Is that ok if we start the renovation now but only move in next year (2006) after Lunar New Year? Firstly, is this a period 7 (1984-2003) house or period 8 (2004-2023) house. The reason I ask this is because, if it is a period 7 house or earlier, then any major renovation work done will change the house period. So the luck of the entire house might change for the better or worst depending on the charts. Generally, if you have a star 5 in the main door this year, of course, the worry would be that i…

Dear Anon, This recent posting, should help you understand, how to take a compass reading of the "mouth" or facing direction of a home:- - Start - 1. Please goto the conference: Feng Shui Tips and Guidelines. Immediately on the top page of the conference, try to read two articles: Part I Facing direction of a home Part II Facing Direction of a home. 2. More importantly, one need to understand the concept of Flying Star or what is considered as the "mouth" of the house from this article. If so, one can basically apply Flying Star Feng Shui more effectively. 3. And hopefully able to answer your questions, either more convincingly or with conviction. As no two homes a…

Dear Master Lee, We are currently looking at strata terrace (cluster house) where there is entrance from basement where the car will park and ground floor will be the living room, dining room and kitchen. With that, I believe the main door would be the the glass sliding door at the living room facing the outdoor patio. From the patio, we can see there is an entrance roof to the other development which looks like poison arrow. Seeking your opinion if this is harmful. We are keen with the unit and wanted to see if there is any remedy to this. Many thanks.

Dear Tay Jin, tay jin wrote: Can u educate me on this scenario whereby the main door is facing a posion arrow highlighted in red? In such a case, the only two possibility is to either have some plants at the corner of the room. Or to put some kind of partition at the door so that it will block the corner from cutting out to the door. See my attached graphic for an example.

1. One good point is that fortunately, the emergency exit (staircase) is on the side and not directly visible from the main entrance door. - Good. 2. Frankly, symbolically it is not the best to face the dustbin; but I believe there is really not much choice as one cannot really change the external layout of your block of flat. 3.If a person is applying or going to apply Feng Shui, all we can do is to follow the concept of: http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/The_Concept_of_Maximizing_Marks 4. From the picture of the room; although there are sharp edges: the bed position looks acceptable as the sharp edges don't seem especially to cut the bed. And the worktop ro study table is…

Dear Wendy, Due to many queries about the type of Ba Gua mirror to use, I have compiled information on the various types. You need to log in to the forum and go to this conference: Photo Tours of Interest (with pictures). Look for the recent messages, e.g. Part I, Part II, and Part III, where I not only list a description of each type but also show pictures of them. Based on the above, you should use the type mentioned under Part I – Ba Gua mirrors. The models applicable for your case are Model A, B, C, or D type of Ba Gua mirror, especially if there is a sharp corner or angle of another building pointing towards your main entrance door. The above fi…

Hi, I am new to Fung Shui, sorry if I ask silly or old questions. I live in a one bedroom apartment with an open kitchen. 1. As soon as I open my main door, I see my kitchen and stove. 2. I initially thought mymain door was facing south but in fact it faces North East (i.e. when exiting - I will face north east - correct?). 3. Myapartment is small so I can't put a divider in between the main door and kitchen. So what should I do to prevent the chi going out? Goldfish? Wind chimes? Bamboo sticks? I have been becoming ill lately and not getting along with people. I was born in the year of 1979 year of the Ram. Please help! Thanks in advance! MM

Dear Cecil, Can you define, what can be a screen (i.e what material) For instance can a plastic / cloth screen running the entire length of the kitchen door, can evade the inauspicious effect of the "Kitchen Door" facing the "Main Door". The problem is that I have a one room flat, where I do not have any leverage to do any structural alteration. Kind Regards, A. Vincent

Dear Anon Please see attached sketch for a better understanding of a poison arrow aimed at the main door. Apologies for the rough sketch. Just look at the concept. Here there are two issues: 1. the narrow corridor where the lift faces the main door. This is Sha Qi and can be cured with two plants placed strategically at the location. 2. I did not properly draw the angle at which the corridor aims at the main door but if it does it is a poison arrow. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee

The toilet door beside the guess room is facing the dinning area, is this a bad feung shui? (pls see attachment)Eager for your ReplySincerly,Ray

Dear Anon, The best remedy is based on the concept i.e. if one cannot see it is no longer a `threat'. If possible, a screen should be placed between the stairs and main door. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Recently, we just went to site visit one of the new Sales balance flat unit. We spotted one unit but that unit's main door is facing to the gas/telecom room. (See "GasRoom.png"). It is not entirely facing to the telecom/gas room, but half facing. When we try to stand in front of this unit's main door, half of the view are blocked by that room's wall, and another half is unblocked. Picture "FromFrontDoorView.jpg" is showing how it looks like when we stand in front of our favorite unit's main door. Picture "sideview.jpg" is the side view of our favorite unit. Could you advise is this a good to take unit?

1. There are three major considerations if Feng Shui is applied to evaluate the new private property:- 1.1. Commonsense Approach to Feng Shui Morning and Afternoon sun is a major consideration for any home especially for countries like Singapore at or close to the equator. Majority of the time it is either the master bedroom or two bedrooms of the homes that will be "bathed" by afternoon sun. (Direct morning sun is not ideal but not as bad as afternoon sun. This forum has touched on some of the concerns of afternoon sun and it has an effect on persons living in the home. For children, their studies - the heat... 1.2.
