Dear Summer, Under Geomancy, often the following are the key points: 1. Colours for the company logo 1.1 Often, either and/or : the sole proprietor's ba zi is looked at and/or the type of business is looked at. 1.2 For example, Communication is considered as a water element. Thus, one of the colours is "blue". 1.3 However, sometimes, the sole proprietor's or partners ba zi are looked at to look at a suitable colour. 1.4 For example if the person is a weak wood person. The company logo can come in three colours: a. White background b. Company logo has blue / white and green 1.5 Where possible, try to have THREE colours for the company logo (background included) Here, three…

Dear Kuga, Thambyrajah Kugathasan wrote: I am selling an apartment and would like to know whatfeng shui measurescan beutlizied toexpeditethe sale. Unfortunately, feng shui is no miracle cure for all problems. There is very little you can enhance in Feng Shui to help expedite a sale of a property. The reason is because the ultimate factor whether a potential buyer will purchase the place, will depend on the location of your home, the ease of transport, the price etc. With a lot of properties available, that means that the buyer has lots of choices to find the best home for him. So under such a situation, there is really very little feng shui can help. You can only make u…

Dear Juliana, These are inherent problems that one should avoid if possible. Frankly, there are no cures unless, the bathroom is not above e.g. the study room or dining room. Where possible, spent less time at these locations. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Gua or Kua cannot be used to locate the best placement of a water fountain. 2. The two dynamics is used: 2.1 Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. 2.2 Here, since the living room is often symbolically a `water' area, a water feature can still `hug' one of the walls. 2.2 Under the Compass School, the Flying Star Feng Shui is used to find the best location for a water position or alternatively to avoid a water position. 3. If one is new to Feng Shui, it is best to understand these concepts, first. 4. In addition, it is often unfavourable for the breadwinner who is a `weak fire' or `strong water' element to have water inside the home. 4.1 For example, water may further …

Dear Lawrence, If I understand correctly, your bathroom door is quite a distance from your bedroom (but directly facing each other). This is secondary, and in my opinion, you could (if you can) close your bedroom door instead. 1. Usually, the impact is greater if the toilet is part of the bedroom. 2. If the toilet bowl is not visible from the toilet door, this even much better. Overall, I would not be too overly concerned in your situation. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Arturo, Under the Five Element analysis, knowing the element may not be enough. As this depends on whether it is a weak/strong wood or weak/strong metal combination. Weak wood Strong metal Weak wood Weak metal Strong wood Weak metal The above combinations can result in different `readings' and different "binding" elements that can help both parties grow. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Max, 1. Recently, there has been a few postings with regards to the `conflicting' information provided by e.g. Flying Star Feng Shui vs Eight House Theory. 2. I like to elaborate that; there is no conflicting information on either the Flying Star Feng Shui nor the Eight House Theory. 3. Here in lies what I have suggested a THREE-Step approach to find out: 3.1 What is the aim or purpose of each theory? If one knows the aim of each of this theory, one would then not be confused or feel that the information provided by e.g. Flying Star or Eight house CAN be contradictory. 3.2 What are the strengths and 3.3 What are the weakness of the theory or concept. 4. In a few rec…

Dear Anon, 1. I agree with you on your definition of more than one water position below. 2. What I find highly unusual is not so much of what you mentioned below, but I literally understood or thought that the earlier posting to mean that there are two water positions outside the main door i.e. on each side. This is what I felt. 3. The context of water positions so close-by side-by-side is in my opinion highly unusual. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Nadia, Please see below:- Yes, a small courtyard at the center of the house is OK. Except that one must avoid (never) have a tree or plant at this centre point. A tree/plant at this centrepoint combined together with the courtyard, is the symbol of `KUN' and an inauspicious. Yes, this is acceptable. So long as the road is parallel to the main door. And there is usually some distance e.g. at least 1 metre distance from the main door. It can still be located a the north east, but in the layout of the kitchen, avoid having the kitchen stove on a NE alignment i.e. the kitchen stove must not along the `imaginery' line of this NE or rest along this NE line. It …

Dear Mr Low, One has to take extra care when using water positions in the home: 1. If the breadwinner's ba zi is weak fire or strong water element, water in a home can cause more problems. 2. Specifically, one must understand the two major purpose of the use of water: 2.1 In a real life water fall, it is because of the friction of water with air that brings beneficial results. 2.2 A water feature is useful to provide clear space for the frontage of a building. This is because, nothing else can be built above the water feature or pond i.e. providing clear space. 3. Normally, when placing a water feature outside of the house, check to see if the property is sloping or not.…

Dear David, Thanks for the sketch. 1. For the lamp post, since it is at the edge or perimeter of your unit, it does not seem to be a threat. 2. For the cluster of thin trees, this is OK. 3. But for the single tree, it poses a threat. Fortunately, since it is only on one side, overlooking one glass panel, it is simple to “correct.” Most of us use curtains, and often the curtains can be drawn just enough to block the view of this lone tree. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, In my opinion, it is best not to use DIRECTION " Feng Shui ". 1. Although each Gua (Kua) or Trigram has a specific significance or meaning, many authors are churning out tons of books on it. 2. It is very easy to understand why authors can make money out of it (plus in my opinion hurt many people). It is so easy, for each of us to `imagine' and come with a such a book: 3. For example, since there are 8 `directions' or trigram; with some imagination or addition of our intrepretation of a direction come with with a book such as: Chapter 1 : Introduction Chapter 2 : Career Sector (North) What it means? What to buy? Go buy it... Chapter 3 : Mentor Sector (North Wes…

Dear PG Tan, Please note that flying star though only uses numbers, has lots of theories and concepts. As such for one to truely know how to read the information, you will need to really take an indepth course on the flying star itself to fully understand how the interactions of each numbers will mean in different sectors. There isn't going to be any easy way to explain it. This is why on our website, we already provided the free flying star analysis whereby the key stars to take note are already colour coded so that you can tell whether a star is good or bad. For detailed, analysis, we have the paid version of the flying star which does all the analysis for you. In an…

Dear Anamika, Feng Shui is about trying to increase the `earth' luck of the house. And should be applied in a `holistic' way. I feel that the most crucial aspect of Feng Shui is the house's Shape and Form i.e. can the house collect wealth? If the house can collect wealth (based on Shapes and Form) Feng Shui, then one may not do a FS audit and yet, luck flows in to the owners. This would account for many people who never seek FS advise yet, have very good luck (most of the time). I have thus coined this " Quantum Leap " in Feng Shui. Where, one would already receive say 50% to 70% added luck for the house. For excellent houses, such Quantum Leap in FS luck can even be 90%…

Dear Anon, Usually, the living room should have `clear space'. But what you mentioned may not necessarily mean that your home may not be auspicious. Perhaps, you have to look at your entire house layout rather than base the assessment solely on the door opening... Overall, even if the main door does not have clear space, we can use this to be the direction of the main door but consider other aspects such as the location where light comes in the `brightest' into the home. What you need to do is to see that this location e.g. the living room has clear space within the living room (if possible). Frankly, there is really no `harm' in using mirror(s) as many FS practitioners …

Dear Angelica, 1. Usually, such bad luck or misfortune arises from the Feng Shui of the previous owner's house. Especially if the house has a missing corner at the North sector of their exisiting home. Or where at a specific situation when the accident of the son could be due to the concentration of Flying Stars #5 x 2 or more either in the 20 year or yearly or even monthly charts. 2. In my opinion, the bad luck most likely will not be passed on. However, since you intend to go into business; it would be prudent to look at the Flying Stars of this shop space for your restaurant. With regards to any sectors that may have too yin a sectors. And if so, it should be cured. …

Dear Josephine, 1. I am afraid, this type of question is not appropriate for this forum. 2. There is nothing which can be commented that does not dwell into `hearsay' information with no proper basis in Traditional Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

To the Chinese, it is unlucky to give especially someone: 1. A clock. 2. A pair of shoes. But since this is a watch.. it dwells more on beliefs or coincidences. But generally, it is felt that giving knives is not good since it is symbolic of sharp or pointed objects. Nevertheless, as relationships are built on communication, trust and interaction of the two parties, if you want to try to continue with your relationship, should perhaps, have a `hard to hard' talk with your ex-boyfriend and see how things goes.... Warmest Regards Cecil

Dear Noe, 1. Thank you for bring up this interesting question. 2. To understand better, we can generally say that what you had mentioned is in my opinion like comparing "an Apple with an Orange." 3. This is because if one look carefully; what is `missing' from the understanding is the " TIME PERIOD ". 4. If one looks carefully at say the GUA number and how it has been derived, it is based on a person's YEAR OF BIRTH. While a proper and very complete Pillars of Destiny Chart comprises of:- YEAR, MONTH, DAY AND TIME OF BIRTH. (This four items is what we commonly call FOUR PILLARS) as each pillar is represented by one of the time periods i.e. Year, Month, Day and Time of b…

Dear Fanny, In an open cubicle system, most of the time, we have to make do with the sitting position imposed on us. In a room concept, or one occupies a room, usually, the office desk may be able to be tilted to a good direction. Unfortuantely, in an open concept, we may have to take on any table. If this is such the situation, then, hopefully, we can face one of our 4 best directions. If you have not used the Free Eight House report on sitting position, you can use it to check out your sitting location. This is simply taking an ordinary compass and looking at the direction you are facing i.e. sitting down and facing to work. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Jeanette, A key success factor is to apply Flying Star Feng Shui. This is because under Flying star Feng Shui, if one can rightly activate the correct locations, this would be beneficial. On the contrary, activating the wrong sectors may bring worse consequence. For example, under Flying Star, if the water star #8 happens to be in a specific location at the living room, this would be very favourable for wealth. However, under Period 8, there are three distinctive numbers and their significance under Flying Star:- #8 = current prosperity. Here, there are two stars : the mountain MS#8 represents relationship/lottery luck; while WS#8 represents water wealth positi…
