Dear Aloysius, 1. Usually, the most common method is that one can still try to activate M8 in this sector. 2. In addition, some practitioners may recommend aconcave bagua mirror. Where it is used to "suck" back the missing corner. Ideally,a neighbour's balcony / living room should not be in very closeproximity when we hang aconcave bagua mirror. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Aloysius Chia wrote: A HDB flat balcony happen to be in a west sector with flying star M8 W6 B9 and under 8 mansion it isin theYan Nian sector. But the balcony only occupied half the sector, is there a way to boost/enhance it as M8 does benefits a lot to the people of the flat.

Dear Lisa, If you have read previous messages, usually, the fastest way to change to a new period is thru a major renovation. However, based on your description of work done, these are mostly cosmetic changes, thus most likely have not changed qi, yet. Currently, there may be some differences in the thinking as to what constitues a change of qi or period if one does not do a major renovation in the home. However, I will try to explain as best as I can some of the more realistic ways that we can help our home change it's qi:- 1. One school of thought is that unlike a landed property that has a roof, thus often, a large number of practitioner would advise to remove roof…

Dear Anon, Generally, there are two approaches with regards to placing a water feature: 1. Persional feeling (Most common method) Here, as you have mentioned, most likely, either the location choosen seems to be an appropriate choice or because of the home layout; we most likely find that this is one of the better choice. 2. Applying Flying Star Feng Shui As Flying star Feng Shui uses a "scientific" method of determining where a water feature is useful to be placed. Frankly, not many people may want to go for the second approach. However, without using or applying the second approach, there is no reference to state where we should place the fish tank other than usi…

Dear Jace, To be honest, some Chinese who in one way or another if told of their favourable and unfavourable colours would tend to dwell in being more cautious when choosing a vehicle colour. Personally, I do share the same sentiments. And have always tried to choose a car colour that suits me. However, I hope you understand this is honestly more of a "personal-thing" and how much we personally either being "influenced" by it. For weak metal persons, based on the Five elements concept, yes, black = water may not be as suitable as a "metal" element colour or "earth" colours. On a scientific level, (Not Feng Shui); previously, there were some insurance studies that show…

Dear Phyllis, Thanks for proving a sketch of the layout of the bedroom. Although you have stated that the person sleeping here is Gua (Kua)5, there is no indication of a compass marking to show where the North direction is. As such, I have drawn a sample sketch. Thissketch also shows markings A and B. If we sleepin the directionfrom A to B (as shown in the attachment); this is known asa "coffin position" i.e. our legsshould not be facingthe bedroom door. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Phyllis Lee wrote: Please advise a suitable location for the bed given such a layout (attached). Dear Benjamin, Please refer to the attached sample report. Sample Gender: Male Conversion of Date of Birth: Solar Calendar: 17 Oct 1980 between 1.00 p.m. to 2.59 p.m. Lunar Calendar: 1980, 9th month, 9 day, between 1.00 p.m. to 2.59 p.m. In this example, the arrow shows the direction, he should be facing. Dear Anon, 1. Yes, it is preferred that the bedroom door is closed. 2. A plant may not be appropriate especially if the staircase is not large but just nice for one or two persons to walk past. 3. You can also try to use the Eight House chart to see if you can plan your bedroom i.e. to orientate your bed-head and work/study to a good facing direction. Warmest Regards, Cecil Anonymous wrote: Dear Master, My element is strong metal and my bedroom is located on the east. Dear Ann, One has to be extra careful in enhancing a sector with mountain star 9. In your case, you have not mentioned about what are the other two related stars? WS#? and Base (Palace star) #? For example, MS, WS, Base: 9, 6, 3 is often associated with fire at heaven's gate 9, 5, 2 is often associated with sickness : where 9 fire inflames 5 & 2 9, 3, 6 associated with legal issues 9, 7, 9 grave financial loss So, how to activate mountain star in many of such situations! It is very common for all of us who do not consider that there is a leak, bu instead assume that there is "wealth" (wealth sector). Please check the associated flying stars at that sector as m…

Dear Ann, No. Should concentrate on the MS# with WS#. For example under Period 8, all centre palace has base = #8. But when determing the characteristics of the centre palace, often MS# with WS# are taken into account. Normally, the base = #8 remains "silent". Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Vicky, Gua or Kua is based on Ba Chai or Eight House or 4 good / 4 bad directions. Thus although it has an element, it is better to associate your Gua with directions - primarily. vicky conjamalay wrote: hello sir, my kua element is fire and my feng shui element is earth. Could you tell me how these two elements make their effect on me. Waiting for reply. Thanks. I am not sure what you mean by Feng Shui element? Earth? Do you actually mean your Ba Zi element e.g. Strong or weak earth? If you truly mean Ba Zi, then, it is much easier to associate it with the Five elements concept. Thus as mentioned above: Either a person is a Strong Earth or a weak earth pers…

Dear Anon, Sorry to learn about it. Try to relax Frankly, it is difficult for me to give you proper advise as there are limited information in-order to do a detailed study to minimize any issues relating to Feng Shui. For example, although the facing direction is provided, things like which period your home belongs to and also other things need to be looked into e.g. layout plan. Traditionally, (not Feng Shui) the Chinese do not like to move furniture around especially any furniture in the bedroom of conception e.g. most likely the master bedroom. Do take care! Cecil Lee

Dear Lawerence, Yes, your observations are correct. This is because, especially in a home, the location that has both water and fire element is the kitchen area. And there are many considerations, when water and fire is close-by! For example: 1. Compass School Feng Shui Many practitioners who apply the Compass School of Feng Shui is very much concerned with "Fire at Heaven's" gate. And under this concept, it is very bad luck to have the stove placed at this specific location e.g. NW sector of the home. And when analysing Flying Star numbers, some combination of Flying Stars may be very bad for stove placement. For example, the location that may have MS#9 with WS#6…

Dear Anon, If we strictly consider based on Chinese Astrology, the Rat is considered diagrammatically opposite the Horse. As such they are suppose to be one of the worst pairings in the Chinese Astrology (zodiac) signs. Reference: http://www.lovesigns.net However, phew! 50 years old? Go get a life, and since life at 50 is "really, really short"; why not.. even cannot MUST make it POSSIBLE! We can understand if one is 18 to 30 years. May be head-strong, stubborn or combative. But at 50 years old? Gosh! One should hopefully have mellowed down! And be more understanding! With regards to both the Chinese as well as Western zodiac signs: You see, many of us often read ou…

Dear Samsiah, Usually, to analyse the entire apartment complex then, it would probably have to be the front door (facing the neighbour's front gate). But if you are trying to analyse your apartment, then; for high floors or high storeys 8th storey and above, then it is often the frontage of the apartment or often the living room area or the facing direction where you have the most windows and/or balcony. If your apartment is often 7th storey and below, then often, it should be the main entrance to your unit. As the rest of your question seems more like doing a full audit, sorry this forum is about clarifications or a catalyst to your understanding of how to. Warmest …

Dear Ann J, More importantly, you have to determine what material the beam is made of. If the beam is made of wood, then based on the destructive cycle of the Five Elements concept: metal destroys or neutralises wood and seven represents = metal element (weak metal) and silver represents metal element. Thus, if the beam is made of wood, then SYMBOLICALLY, it is sound to have the 7 "silver stars". Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: ann j wrote: This wonderful siteoffers tremendous knowledge on fengshui. Please answer my query,The main door of my apartment has staircase opposite itat distance of 2ft-3ft. Dear Anon, It is worthwhile for you to get professional Feng Shui consultation in your country especially since your huband's health is poor. Frankly, your questions are piecemeal and without relevance to proper Feng Shui diagnostic tools like Flying Star Feng Shui. Thus things like bamboo tree (real or fake) can be a double edged sword. As some sectors may not be suitable for such a cluster of plants. In addition, I do not have a clear picture of the exact size of the new building and whether it "cuts thru" the main door, windows or what is the distance etc... Dear Andy, Generally, you can opt for: First Choice:- A. Metal (white / gold or silver) with Water (blue, black or grey) combination. Second Choice:- B. Metal (white / gold or silver) with Water (blue, black or grey) with Wood (Green or brown) Where: (Metal = circle, water = wavy or wood = tall and thin) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Emily, You can try to activate metal at this sector. Since this is the living room area, the most effective cure is to activate with a 6-hollow rod metal wind chime. Dear Anon, 1. There are two "angles" to look at the case where often, from the master-bedroom, we may see the toilet (toilet bowl). 2. In many apartments; be it a condominium or an HDB (government housing development board apartment or flat); in fact all master bedrooms have a detached-toilet. In some instances, we do not get to see the toilet as it may be closer to the bedroom door. 3. As mentioned under Para 1; there are two ways of looking at the "issue" or non-issue with the toilet:- 4. From a Shapes and Form point of view 4a. As you have mentioned, some people may feel uncomfortable seeing the toilet (toilet bowl) from their master-bed. Frankly, there is no…

Dear Lawerence, Please click this link for reference on the Five Elements Concept:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-5element.htm If you look carefully, there are two different diagrams:- a. Productive Cycle As you are considered as a Strong Fire person, therefore; your best "harmonious" elements are: Since you are already a STRONG fire person, it would do "injustice" if you add Wood to further inflame your fire element. Thus under the Productive cycle, as a strong fire person, you should look three steps forward i.e. Earth (Yellow, cream or beige) Metal (White or gold) Water (Blue, black or grey) I believe, at this stage you should be comfortable wit…

Dear Anon, In a past article in this website; I have mentioned that there was a study in Germany. Where it was reported that there were higher incidences of cancer for those who place their bed above a sewerage pipe. In your case, hopefully, the toilet bowl shares another wall (other than with your bed head). If so, so long as the toilet bowl does not share the same wall as your bed-head this is often fine. Just try to avoid having the toilet bowl (pipes) on the same wall as your bed-head. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: I have a wallbetween my bedroom and bathroom. Dear Anon, There are currently 3 formula available to calculate the Gua Number:- Method 1 Male Calculation - Subtract the last two numbers of your year of birth from 100 and divide by 9. - The remainder is the number of your Gua. - If there is no remainder, you should take the Gua number 9. For Example: Born in 1970, 100 - 70 = 30 30 divided by 9 = 3 remainder 3 Your Gua number is 3 Females Calculation - Subtract 4 from the last two numbers of your year of birth and divide by 9. - The remainder is the number of your Gua. - If there is no remainder you should take the Gua number 9. For Example: Born in 1970 70 - 4 = 66 66 divided by 9 = 7 remainder…

Dear Kritchnop, 1. If one is applying ba zi to relate to car colours then simply use the free tool e.g. in this website located at geomancy-online.com to check one's ba zi element. 2. For example, some of us are Weak Metal, while others may be strong metal, strong wood etc.... 3. The preferred colours are available to all of us. 4. To be honest, colours are considered "nice-to-have" and not a must! 5. In addition, most of us have three categories of careers (based on our ba zi) e.g. Career with wealth Career withpower and authority and Career that is acceptable or OK.
