Dear Allison, 1. Recently, I posted a painting with double 9 fishes. 2. For example, if one look closely at that particular painting, 2 x 9 set of fishes are facing each other. " 9 " represents or sounds like longevity. And thus is considered an auspicious number. 3. Yes, Chinese lanterns: some which you had mentioned either had four sides or there are four round lanterns X 2 on each side is equally acceptable. Dear Nina, In my opinion, I would classify this type of question into two categories:- 1. Potential Sha Qi or poison arrow and/or 2. Commonsense approach. Under Para 1, above, a tree may become a poison arrow if it ends up with a thin tall tree trunk. And if one stands at the window (even) of a low rise house; should this thin trunk (or pole like) object slice thru the window, it then becomes a potential Sha Qi or poison arrows. Dear Vera, 1. If possible (top priority) the staircase should never be facing the main entrance door. This is considered inauspicious. 2. And should be cured if it is an existing house. 3. A staircase can still face the dining room. This is a better option. 4. Where possible avoid having a circular staircase as this is not a good configuration. 5. Dear Kelly, Yes, although it would be better to look at pictures, from your description, your house looks or rather sounds Ok to me. For off-site audit, I personally handle the all off-site audits. In many of the off-site audits, many of our clients either fax us and/or if they need urgent responses can use reliable courier services such as FedEX and DHL. So far, many of our US clients use FedEX - which has benn proven to be very good. Or if one is not in a hurry sent the information thru snail mail i.e. postal service. Dear Anon, 1. In my opinion, there is not much one can do if the `Eight House' chart is unsuitable for a person. Unless, one moves out of the room or find a new house -- assuming a worst case senario. 2. But more importantly, no matter how, the bedroom should always (top-priority) conform to good Shapes and Form Feng Shui. I have given many examples of this in previous messages. 3. For example, where possible, the bed should not rest on the same wall as the bedroom door. Where possible, it should be on the opposite wall as the bedroom door. 4. Dear Chee Siong, 1. Yes, this is a recent and very common sight in HDB (Housing and Development Board's) design of not just your apartment but of many apartments. 2. Usually, the driveway or drop-off point is a single lane road. In my opinion, there is not much issue or worry with it. Further to what I mentioned earlier, there can also be a 6th category i.e. Type 6 - Houses that no human can live in. Fortunately, this type of house is either rare or has been built badly under shapes and forms. Where, one can still stay in the house but may bring calamity to the owners. General example: frontage facing a hill. Or `chopping' off the head of the house to build a new extension. Or a house where on both sides is surrounded by a house on each side. Dear Anon, Under Eight House theory, there is not much one can do. As this theory is particularly useful to select houses prior to moving in. If it is under Flying Star Feng Shui, this looks at the birth chart of the house. And since it is based on the common denominator i.e. Five Elements Concept, then if any of the sectors are considered `inauspicious' - it can easily be balanced or neutralised. Once this is neutralised under Flying Star, there is not much worry with the sector -- under Flying Star Feng Shui. However, it does not mean that it will automatically `cure' Eight House. Dear Anon, Since your problems were related or felt to be related to the fish tank, in my opinion, it is best that you do away with the Fish tank. In Feng Shui, fish tank(s) are often used as a cure and not an enhancer. Enhancers include pretty large fountains etc... Other than the above, some consider rearing fish as a hobby. Under Pillars of Destiny, if one's element is a weak fire or strong water person; then it is best to avoid a fish tank in the home:- 1. It can further extinguish a weak fire person's element. 2. Dear Chee Siong, Please refer to the attached file. I have drawn three Options on how best to place a screen or divider (or divider with cabinet). Please refer below:- You only need to have a divider that covers the full (main door). In many instances, one can use e.g. a semi-circle or rounded edged divider so that it will not become an `arrow'. Alternatively, a screen can also be used. Dear Peck Wun, Since you are considered the breadwinner, it is good for the stove to orientate a good position for the breadwinner. In such a situation, since you are a weak fire person, orientating the stove to the east is a good option for you. Since east facing represents wood element. Dear Wilfredo, In order to confirm; if one is standing at the main entrance door and can see e.g. the tree trunk. Here, the tree trunk is said to be slicing into the main door. If so, then this is a `poison arrow' slicing into a house. This is considered a `Sha Qi' or inauspicious. And should be corrected. Dear Max, Usually, if there is a missing corner, we can try to redress it e.g. with mirrors etc... However, if a sector is deemed to be an auspicious sector is "occupied" e.g. by a toilet, etc... there is really not much one can do - to improve the situation. Usually, if we consider `sectors' it is but one of many sectors under e.g. a concept. Thus, lets assume that this concept or theory accounts for 20% of the total marks out of 100 marks.
