Further to what I mentioned earlier, there can also be a 6th category i.e. Type 6 - Houses that no human can live in. Fortunately, this type of house is either rare or has been built badly under shapes and forms. Where, one can still stay in the house but may bring calamity to the owners. General example: frontage facing a hill. Or `chopping' off the head of the house to build a new extension. Or a house where on both sides is surrounded by a house on each side. Here, both breadwinner can `die' in the space of 1 year after they have moved in. Note: this type of house is `rarer'. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Kelly, Yes, although it would be better to look at pictures, from your description, your house looks or rather sounds Ok to me. For off-site audit, I personally handle the all off-site audits. In many of the off-site audits, many of our clients either fax us and/or if they need urgent responses can use reliable courier services such as FedEX and DHL. So far, many of our US clients use FedEX - which has benn proven to be very good. Or if one is not in a hurry sent the information thru snail mail i.e. postal service. Which has a turnaround time of just one or two working days. Alternatively, scanned images or scan layout are equally acceptable. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Yeow Leong, 1. Usually, a 6-rod metal (or aluminum hollow rod) wind chime can be used as a “cure” for Flying Star sectors that have imbalances, such as the numeral #5 or combinations involving it, or other sector imbalances. 2. Thus, I would assume that your FS practitioner has identified that location, or the two sectors (i.e. North and Northwest), as requiring a constant metal cure. 3. Here, the 6-rod metal wind chime represents “Big Metal,” which is used to constantly “hammer” a bad sector. 4. In my opinion, if your house was built in Period 7 (i.e. between 1984 to date), usually—based on my own analysis—the two areas that can use a wind chime …

Dear Piet, To be honest, the only thing is to relocate the toilet. But, may not be practical or allowed by the owner of the second floor. The only way is to relocate the toilets. Otherwise, thre is really nothing much one do. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Niap Vun, Please see below:- The above is a stand method to usher in good luck to an office in the `Traditional' method. I am aware that not many people may want to practise the above especially if the office is situated in an open area (no privacy). And it can be rather inconvenient. Frankly, this is the only method. It is not possible to elaborate on Shapes & Form in a single message. But you may have to read more about it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. In my opinion, it would be better to `fix' the leak. 2. Overall, using a metal windchime or metal at sectors are relatively safe: a. In past forum messages, I mentioned that metal element is a common cure for most of the Flying Star ailments. b. Therefore, there is relatively no harm using it. The only repercussion of using a windchime wrongly is or the result is problems related to sleep. It is felt that playful imps may give us nightmare and for those who cannot sleep properly afterwards, should remove them. 3. Even if North West is considered a good sector, windchime does not automatically become a good candidate. Usually, it has to be analysed within a …

Dear Yang Ming, I like to add that, in my opinion, I am very confident that the "Black Hat" model is not viable in the Far East especially Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong and Taiwan. This is because, the "Black Hat" is based on a `marketing ploy'. I feel Black Hat is not viable for the following reasons:- 1. Locally in Singapore, the traditional Feng Shui practitioner does not mix products with their consultation. 2. Since products are readily available in a wide area in Singapore, there is NO REASON for a Feng Shui practitioner to tout such goods. 3. Unlike in the West, where perhaps, some of the products are rarer to find. And usually, some FS practitioners (authenti…

Dear Anon, 1. Based on 965, where 9 represents fire, six metal element and 5 (bad Yellow five or earth), the 9 with 5 is not ideal as fire (9) enhances earth (5). 2. A 6 (metal) may not be enough in such a situation. 3. Many FS practitioners, consider a computer as belonging to the fire element. Therefore, if you can, try to add more `metal' e.g. 6 coins to further destroy the two combinations of fire-earth. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Please see below:- - In my opinion, in general, it is best if one can not to purchase the house. - Perhaps, you can also ask the existing owner what is the rationale for them selling the unit. 1.What is your view on the effect of the station & the lane and the unit??s overall feng shui and it??s cure? Frankly, it is NOT practical to `cure' such a Yang effect coming from the Fire station. Not practical because, one has to literally close the curtains or close the main door most of the time. 2. Will it benefits a breadwinner of weak earth element perhaps needing more fire? This is to do more with which direction the main door is facing and whether it mat…

Dear Anon, Please note that these are general statements. But it does not necessarily mean that it may apply to all units in the vicinity. Your new set of question simply is too general since there are too many variations in Housing board flat layouts and locations. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Nathalie, In Feng Shui, there are two concepts:- 1. study facing a good direction. You can use the free Feng Shui report to look at it. However, caution is that it is always better to have the study table position based Good Shapes and Forms than (para 1 i.e. nice to have). For example, if the best direction is to place the study table next to the bedroom door; this may be distracting to your eldest son even if the direction is good! 2. Another traditional idea is that if it window of the bedroom open out and to the right (a distance away); there is a tall e.g. tower, this signifies, scholaristic achievement. Many FS practitioners encourage the placement of a small f…

Dear Kathy, 1. Frankly, it is better to place your bed in a good Shapes and Forms position. 2. Some examples of favourable/unfavourable bed positions can be seen under this url:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-bedroom.htm 3. Many of us, do have `opposites'. And it is best that the person who has more auspicious influence sleep closer to that intangible force. While, the partner sleeps further away. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Jasmine, Ideally, it is good if the house can face good directions of both parties. But as you had mentioned, one person is the `East' house while the other is the `West' house. "Unfortunately" in Feng Shui, there is a consideration: Who is the breadwinner? In traditional Feng Shui, (like almost everywhere in the world); the breadwinner is often assumed as the man of the house. Or the male figure. Even today, we still often consider the male (husband) as the breadwinner unless: the husband is not working or a house-maker. Or if the male's salary is far below that of the female. In the bedroom, even if one partner's sector is not so good, (if possible) the partner wh…

Dear Wasis, What I meant is that often, at the frontage of the house, has many openings. For example, at the frontage; there is a main door e.g. 2 wood doors plus a full set of sliding glass doors for the living room. In such a situation, the mouth of the house is too big. (In proportion to the frontage of the house). It is similar to the layout mentioned in this message. Where, there is a main door and immediately next to it is a balcony. This two are taken to mean a large `mouth'. Where the house is not proportionate i.e. too many openings in relation to the `frontage'. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Peck Wun, Frankly, there is no issue with trying to repaint the wrought iron grille. In many situations, unless, it is a major clash or the colours are out of the ordinary e.g. bright red or bright blue. The `natural' colour of what is suppose to be wrought iron grille colour is overall an acceptable colour. Since it has both gold and black. Gold represents metal and black represents water. Metal and Water are acceptable combinations. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Michael, In my opinion, Traditional Feng Shui Schools do not practise fixed Ba Gua template or `Black Hat Sect' Feng Shui. Try to do a SEARCH in this forum for `Black Hat' and you can find out the answers why it is not applied here or by any other Traditional Feng Shui Schools. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Further to what I had mentioned:- Flying Star Feng Shui is used in particular to look at the frontage (water star - if any) of a landed property or locations where there can reasonably be a mountain star. Thus, as mentioned earlier, if Metal elements or Water elements are detected, water or flat level areas can be enhanced - especially if Metal stars are present. For mountain stars, it can be located at the side of the house (next to main entrance) or at the back of the house - if a mountain star is found at that specific sector). The above together with Shapes and Forms MUST be taken under consideration, TOGETHER and should not be viewed separately. Other than the above,…

Dear Ai Ling, In my opinion, this is not so bad as compared to two equal mirrors that totally `split' a person into two. So far, I have yet to come across any major problems with what you had mentioned. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Marian, Please see below, This is because it is so easy to quote raw data in only just a few lines and wait for a full assessment. Imagine, if every forum member does this, I am not sure how I am going to manage it. There are already specific tools available. Or make use of any competent FS practitioners anywhere. So, I really appreciate if users do not simple quote such information. Especially in this forum since it is specific only to that individual. As another person's home will certainly not share the same stars or Gua (Kua) number. It is best to use a three-step approach to form the basis of solid grounding in Feng Shui: 1. Understand the purpose of each c…

Dear Lia, 1. Yes, you have brought up a very good question. 2. However, the Key Success Factor here is to take The Five Elements Concept to a higher step. 3. Hint: It has to do more with the concept of Strong or Weak. 4. Drawing a parallel, in Ba Zi, one must ensure that one get one's element not only correct but also whether it is `strong' or `weak'. 5. Unfortunately, for Xuan Kong or Flying Star Theory, many of the bad earth belong to the Strong Element. 6. For example #2 and #5 are strong earth element. 7. When countering strong earth, one should where possible avoid wood element. 8. No doubt, wood is acceptable to destroy weak earth. But it is not a good solution to d…

Dear Vivi, 1. My earlier comments are very general. 2. In my opinion, the statement has to do more with my personal preference. 3. Actually, black represents the water element. (Water element is either blue, black or grey). 4. In general, since water element does not increase or aid bad earth sickness elements. As compared to yellow or fire element. Especially yellow / beige. Particularly for houses under Period 7. And bedrooms are especially in the EAST. And in some layouts, South is equally inauspicious. 5. In my entire life, I have never used black pillows, therefore, have not considered using it in the future. Personally, I do not mind driving a black car, but, not us…
