Sorry cannot get thru to "free-advice@forum.geomancy.net", my email keeps bouncing back hence I sent to this email address instead. Hope its alright. Dear Cecil If a person stays in an apartment that is high up, say 20th floor with no possible poison arrows but also seems to have no "protection" since it is like a stand alone point block and nearby shorter blocks are not very near. Is this no good? I've read in your website that its better that the back of the house should have another higher block as a "backing" and sides should have blocks to act as protection similar to the white tiger and the dragon. Is that so for apartment blocks? If not then what happens? Consideri…

Dear Cecil, Thank you for your prompt reply. My query is about sitting with my back facing a window. However, the Item 1 in your reply mentioned "sitting with our back against a wall". I hope it is a typo error and not a wrong interpretation. Please confirm Thanks & Best Regards szetong

Dear Master Cecil: With respect to this particular problem; i.e. the bathroom is close to the center influence of my home, do you think what I have done has reduced the adverse impact somewhat? By the way, I am in the U.S. and this is a rather new house. Therefore, it is a good looking bathroom with quality fixtures and floor. This bathroom has never been used and I deliberately keep it as presentable as living room. The smell in this bathroom is better than any other room in my house. Of course, I will identify other leakages of my house. I am going to take care of all other possible problems one by one. Do I have to do more with this particular bathroom, such as complet…

Further to what I had mentioned:- 1. Please do a SEARCH under this forum for words like ` Xia Li ' or ` Hsia ' or ` intercalary ' to understand more about the Hsia calendar system widely used by `Hong Kong' or Hong Kong related practitioners. 2. Many of those that learnt the Hsia have migrated or returned to countries like Canada (many Hong Kongers have migrated there), the United States. Because of it's education under Britian, this is largely the voice of " Geomancy" in the pre-1990's era. 3. Often, the China or Taiwanese form or the `Fukien' or Hokkien School which uses the Lunar Calendar was not well known; because many Taiwan (where many practitioners fled to under …

Dear Anon, Further to what I had mentioned; we can draw a parallel to taking an examination or (test). For example: A person is taking a language examination (e.g. a second language other than the mother tongue such as Spanish or Mandarin.) In order to pass this examination we have to take the following tests:- The Mandarin Examination paper comprises:- SECTION 1: 1. An Oral conversation test. (10 marks out of 100 marks) Objective: This test is to show our ability to speak or converse in Mandarion. SECTION 2: 2. An essay test. (40 marks out of 100 marks) Objective: This test is to test our ability to write in mandarion. SECTION 3: 3. A final exam paper consisting of m…

Dear all, 1. Further to what I had mentioned, often, I mentioned that it is `inauspicious' to have a toilet at the centrepoint. 2. Much of Feng Shui is about `commonsense'. 3. If we closely examine one of the rationale for not having a toilet at the centrepoint is because of `water' in the toilet / bathroom. 4. If we can keep this toilet, clean and dry is ok. But what happens if we often bathe in this toilet and after bathing, there is always a wet floor or wet walls or water in this toilet. 5. Somehow, such `water' has to evaporate. And it would be `nice' to have a toilet sharing an external wall; because, some of the moisture, can be `distributed' out of the windows or …

Dear Anon, 1. In the past, when there were few (if any) high rise buildings; it is much easier to relate it to a landed property; than say an apartment. 2. One best way to look at a `major' renovation is of the following:- 3. Case Study 1 ================ 3.1 Someone has sold their home. For example, this house was purchased by a couple who married in the 1970's, stayed there. And when their children grew up; the children moved away. 3.2 Often, the `old couple' who have already retired decided to sell this house. 3.3 Most of the time, the house could require renovations to modernise the home. 3.4 For example, you came along and purchase this house. ANd decide to do a reno…

Dear Cecil, Thanks a lot for your generous assistance. I did go through the old forum messages and you did mention is better not to concern on number of goldfishes to prevent the trouble of replacing if any of the fishes die. Actually I don't understand what is Flying Star Feng Shui but somehow number 8 is still one of the best numbers. I'll add in another 4 little goldfishes then. Thank you once again. rgds, Stanley

Dear Cecil, Thank you very much for the quick response. I am quite understand now about the houses on hilltops. But how about those houses having the stove sit right at the northwest corner which burn the breadwinner's luck? My friend is hesitate to move in such a house but all the neighbors who have the same floorplan seem to have lived there peacefully for years. I also have another question concerning about the four animal symbols. In your major Fengshui theories online, you describe the north is tortise and south is phoenix. The house should sit against the hill (tortise, north) and facing the south. But my house is facing the north (open space) and against a hill (so…

Ha ha ha, that's interesting. But Mr Lee, if there is a red pipe (fire water hose pipe) at one side of the door, do you think the chinese red banner is still needed to scare off the kirins ? Kindly advise me on the above question as i am in doubt. Thanks very much. BR

Dear Ricky, As mentioned in my earlier e-mail, the House Number report is only meant for high rise apartments. In numerology, there are so many varied methods. But what is most important is how often; how many people `recognise' these numbers. Thus, the most common mass superstition are numbers like 13. And for many Chinese number 4, 44 or 444. However, while some people are supersitious about 13, some others are not. This is even the case for 4, 44 or 444. On the gate; there are some people like to symbolically raise the numbers if it is more than 2 or more digits:- 7 8 or 7 7 7 etc... Warmest Regards, Cecil Hi Cecil, Thanks for the quick response. My new house is a land…

Hi Cecil, Thanks for the advice. This is a brand new home site still unders contruction. I based the information on the blue-print layout for the property provided by the builder. The way all houses are built to be facing between two opposite houses similar to the picture I sent you. Based on your advice, I would look somewhere else to buy house. Thanks again for you advice. Regards, Rick

Dear Jennifer, Palm Grove Condominium Both Palm Haven and Palm Grove share the same developer: CapitaLand. Both are 999 year leases. Palm Haven's lease started from 1/9/1876. While Palm Haven's has a better advantage since it started from 1999. Currently, this area only allows for low rise residential estate. Therefore, both Palm Haven and Palm Grove have low rise units. Each development at 4 storey high. Besides consideration such as the remaining lease time-limit and psf; in terms of external Feng Shui, the smaller development (Palm Haven with 48 units as oppose to 111 units for Palm Grove) has better shapes and forms. If one notice the attached site plan for Palm Haven…

Dear Spencer, 1. Yes, I totally agree with your comments. 2. When Dahlia Park TOP, the condo was like a second home as I had clients in nearly all the blocks. 3. What strikes me was that even if these are condos, as you had mentioned, they are firstly freehold; 4. In an exclusive private residential area with both low rise and even all condos in the area has a height restriction or often called `semi-low' rise condo apartments. Most likely because of airport restrictions on the outer-zone. 5. I always felt peaceful, within this private residential encave. Nowadays, it could even be worse-off is to stay close to embassies especially the American or British as often these …

Thank you for your humourous reply. :) I saw your article about using the lou pan as a "ghost detector". Sometimes, you fell sick after "detecting" presence of paranormal activites. So, i was thinking if we can make the Lou Pan more "powerful" by blessing it or "opening its eyes", perhaps that would be safer to use it? So, if enshrining the lou pan does not make sense what about "opening the eyes" of symbolic status like the chi li etc. Is this different from enshrining the lou pan to make it more protective? Is it really necessary or can we just buy the chi li without "opening the eyes" and will they still work? regards spencer

Note: I strongly suggest you chrome plate your peacock feathers. If you are at IMM, I think it is at third storey, (just after the car park entrance, to the right, there is a sticker shop; do see if you can purchase a circular `police' badge - to stick to the back of the car. (Apologies, this scanned image is not clear.. but I hope u get the idea:) In Singapore, the morale of the story is "YOU KISS, YOU AND I PAY:( " (Lose No claim bonus NCB etc...) Warmest Regards, Cecil Thanks again for your humorous reply. Perhaps the road tax disc is still not enough looking at the accident rates. so, i put peacock feathers at the back of my car, staring at the driver behind me and m…

Dear Master Cecil, Thank you for your reply. Is this principle apply if we place the fountain along the wall on the left-side(from the main door looking out). How about if the placement of the fountain inside the hse beside to the main door facing the living hall.Or in others word not to place any water feature at all if the hse faces WEST due to the white-tiger mouth.Hope to get the reply and thank you in advance for your reply. Warmest Regards, alvin niap.

Dear Master Cecil: I apologize for not being clear about the description of the house. The front door opens up to a "good size" foyer area. There is only one staircase leading up to the second floor. The staircase is on the left hand side of the foyer area. Nonetheless, the staircase is "not" situated in the range of the front door. The other end of the foyer is (1) a closet (for guests to hang their coats) and (2) a hallway that leads to a room for families to eat breakfast and snacks. To be specific, when the front door opens up, the first view farther to the foyer is the side wall of the closet, which occupies roughly more than 1/2 of the range of the front door. And t…

Thanks for your quick reply. I knew there was something "fishy" about the whole thing. I'm not one really to fall for the superstious hype, even though I still catch myself still throwing spilled salt over my left shoulder. LOL! I loved your comment on resolving the issue of cooking them up in a pot. I suggest Lemon pepper for flavoring. Thanks.
