Some geomancers have the mistaken notion that all books must be "locked-up" or kept in closed cabinets. As they had read that books are like "knifes". In my opinion, this is far from the truth! Many of us throughout ages have a desk and all our frequently used books are at hand and easily retrieved and placed back on shelves. This is especially true for open book-shelves close to where our hand can easily retrieve and place back. We can then place all our current semester's books within easy reach. This is opposed to having to open book-self doors to retrieve them.

Hi Cecil. I just went to my new neighbor house beside us. They have the sofa/seating area in front of the lift and the dining area in the hall, looks very spacious. Can we do the same? Any negative impact geomancically? More to do with common sense: When one enter the main door and or from the living room sliding door, in this case, we will now encounter the dining table. Common sense says that one should not place bedroom 1's bedroom door so close to the staircase landing. This is because someone in a hurry.. and especially in today's world.. often a person would be too engrossed with their handphone to notice others coming up or going down the stairs. Thus may trip that person. Secondly, where possible avoid the staircase directly facing a bedroom door: as shown in B. Frankly, a degree in common sense is free. One can even obtain a Master’s or Doctorate, here!

1. Common sense again prevails when selecting dining table(s). 2. Often someone would lean against a dining table or place food sometimes in a unbalanced way on a dining table. 3. This is the rational why it is best to have four legs at all four corners of a dining table. 4. However, the photos shows another table legs design that says " I also have 4 (extended) legs ".

When reviewing layout plans for a home with more than one storey: 1. Always compare the second-storey layout with the ground-floor layout by superimposing one over the other. 1.1. For the ground floor, make sure that toilets on the second floor—especially the sewerage pipes and WC—are not located directly above important areas such as the main entrance, dining table, bed, kitchen stove, or altar. 1.2. On the second storey, always check the position of the ground floor stove in relation to the bed above.

Is common sense still Fung Sway? LOL Hi Cecil, good morning...we would like to buy main door entrance lights cos got 12.12 sale and would like to seek your advise if any of these are not suitable. Is there any design, material, colour etc that should be avoided? Is white/cool white/warm light preferred or doesn't matter? Reply: Must be careful later whether door can open or not. Last weekend, while doing my rounds of Feng Shui audit at landed properties.. I walked past these two homes. What's wrong? with these two homes? Hmmm.... It reminded me of a client that was doing a full complete restoration or Additions and Alteration works! And the "silly" architect... recommended paving the entire home's car drive way with slate! This book provides 500 Tips for getting your life in order! Bought this book 5 or 6 years ago. Sometimes such books are more useful than those Feng Shui books out there! Asking us to buy things like Feng Shui jewlry and rubbish commercial products. "When the buying (Feng Shui products) stops! The Selling can! You can look out for such books or resources to help you organize your life.

In basic management books, you get to hear this statement: Management by Exception: Managers only act on exceptions and solve these problems. And reserve their efforts doing fruitful things. Such books do not advise anyone to use something in the hope that you become `prosperous'. My stand is also the same. So, have you read books that rather ask you to do this or that?

1. In an off-site Feng Shui audit; where the block of flat is elongated or may have several stacks that face different directions; 2. With the help or assistance of the owner (or to be new owner); be it a new or resale flat; identify which is the correct orientation of the layout plan to the siteplan. 3. In this example, the attached illustration was prepared. And the owner is asked to check which orientation is correct. And if possible, he/she could outline the unit onto the siteplan. You have heard the most recent term Kindergarten Feng Shui, another interesting description is called Credit Card Feng Shui. I refer to this interesting term as " Purchasing " on credit. 1. As previously mentioned; what I had mentioned really has more to do with common sense or rather "Common sense Feng Shui ". 2. In many homes: apartments, private units, landed property bedrooms; one often sees a side beam as shown under the attachment. 3. In this example, there are TWO bedrooms. And the beds are positioned slightly differently: one with the bed head against wall and the other the bed is parallel towards the wall. Each bedroom encounters a side beam = so what? No big deal! 4. In this illustration the load of the upper floor(s) is carried down in the BLUE arrows. And these "beams" are simply CONDUITS.
