  1. Dear Master Cecil:
Which location of a staircase inside of house is a leakage? At the center point? Or in the center grid? Or right ahead of the main entrance? Thank you.
    Regards,
    Jen

  2. Dear Master Cecil:
Thank you for your explanation of single standalone post and threat zone.
In the front of my entrance, there are multiple posts and a trunk of a tree. All of them are in the threat zone. Are multiple posts in the threat zone a better situation than one single standalone post in the threat zone? Or I have a threat plus plus situation? please kindly provide guidance.
    Regards,
    Jen

  3. Dear Master Cecil:
I am in the U.S. Here, people plant shrubs all around the exterior edges of a house (in every direction).
I am very worried about planting shrubs outside the house. I do not want to plant anything and find out later on that it has adverse impact on the Feng Shui.
Shrubs are "wood". Which directions are not suitable for having lots of wood? Or we should examine eight directions in conjunction with the Flying Star? Would you provide advices? Thank you.
    Regards,
    Jen

  4. Dear Master Cecil:
I have learned a lot from the messages posted at this discussion forum. Nonetheless, in regard to several well known situations, I only know that they exert adverse Feng Shui effects on a house, but I do not know the reasonings behind them.
For example, if a post or the trunk of a tree looks like slicing into a window, a day curtain may help in blocking the threat. If a post or the trunk of a tree stands in front of the main entrance and looks like slicing into the door, it is a lot serious. I do not understand the reasoning behind the bad impact of a post/tree standing in front of the main entrance. Is it because the post/tree blocks the positive Qi from coming to the house? Or the post/tree symbolizes an obstacle to one's career? Or the post/tree harbors devil?
Another example is the bad effects of a bathroom at the center point, at or above the front door. Is it because that the bad Qi in the bathroom (where all the human waste goes) will spread all over the house? Or it is because positive Qi in the house goes down the drain each time we flush the toilet? Or it is because bathroom symbolizes something dirty and disgusting?
Would you kindly help in clarifying my questions? Thank you.
    Regards,
    Jen

  5. Dear Master Cecil:
You once mentioned that a devil hiding in an antique vase.
What is devil like? How do we know if there is a devil nearby? How do we locate a devil; for example, hiding in a vase, in a tree, or in a person?
Hanging a Ba Gua mirror is a strong Feng Shui measure to use unless we are sure there is a devil, isn't it?
I know that the "devil" concept is not something superstitious because in the Holy Bible, Jesus often performed miracles to cast out devils. Nonetheless, we have to discern if it is a devil. In many cases, things are not what they look; rather, logical and rational explanations exist.

  6. Dear Master Cecil:
I am a strong water person. Besides wearing more of brown/green clothing, how do I create a triple combination flow ie:-
    Metal (white/gold) -> Water (blue/black/gray) -> Wood (green/brown)
Thank you very much in advance.

  7. Dear Master Cecil:
I read about the Evil Line just now, which has raised my concerns because I have a NE facing house.
Are all the NE facing houses "Evil Line" houses?
For your information, there is no temple/church in either the NE direction or the SW direction of my house. there are simply roads and houses within one or two miles vicinity of where I live. Nonetheless, I do not know what people do inside their house. I am a strong water person and I do not see anything in the house.
I do not have a luopan, how do I tell if there is a devil somewhere? Please advise.

  8. Dear Cecil:
Before the "Free Reports" tool of your web site was upgraded, I had thought that I was a "weak water".
Now, I have found that I am a "strong water", which makes me worried. The carpeting colors in my living room and bed rooms are either blue or gray; therefore, there is a flooding in the house.
What should I do to neutralize the effect of "too much water"? (I have white walls all around the interior of the house.)

  9. Dear Master Cecil:
With respect to this particular problem; i.e. the bathroom is close to the center influence of my home, do you think what I have done has reduced the adverse impact somewhat? By the way, I am in the U.S. and this is a rather new house. Therefore, it is a good looking bathroom with quality fixtures and floor. This bathroom has never been used and I deliberately keep it as presentable as living room. The smell in this bathroom is better than any other room in my house.
Of course, I will identify other leakages of my house. I am going to take care of all other possible problems one by one. Do I have to do more with this particular bathroom, such as completely remove the toilet bowl and cover the location with good quality tiles? Thank you for your advice.

    Dear Anon,
    1. From my personal
    experience, often, problems
    occur when one has several
    major leaks in a home.
    2. For example:
    2.1. The house is very
    unsuitable to the breadwinner
    e.g. death or disaster sector
    (main entrance);
    2.2. Toilet at the centrepoint
2.3. Ba Zi Luck periods in an
    inauspicious period for the
    breadwinner;
    2.4 Perhaps, there can be
    other hosts of problems such
    as imbalances within the home
such as a house under Period 7
    - where the breadwinner sleeps
in the east or south or for
this year North. As there are
    imbalanced stars here.
    2.5 Other leaks may include
    Shapes and Forms problems like
    qi passing thru a straight
    line from the main door
    towards a balcony.
    3. Often, such leaks range
from the equivalent of e.g. a
    "fractured arm" to an
    "amputated arm or leg".
    4. Thus, 1 major leak alone,
often can be considered as a
    `trigger' point. But not
    necessarily, the sole concern.
    5. Just recently, a user asked
" If I chopped off the tree
    .... will my problems
disappear? ". If a full audit
has been done to determine all
these; and if most of the
    problems can be fixed, there
    is a high chance that
    `problems' will be reduced or
    disappear (depending on each
    individual case).
    6. It is quite worrysome that
    some of us; perhaps, without
    much understanding.. are
    taking `too simplistic' steps
    to `chase away' our problem.
    (But problem should actually
be replaced by problemS - not
    just one problem.)
    Warmest Regards,
    Cecil

    I really appreciate reading
    the articles that Master
    Robert Lee posted in this
    Forum.
    Unfortunately, I have a
bathroom that is close to the
    center influence of my home.
I wonder if there is a cure.
It happens that I do not use
this bathroom at all because I
    have three other bathrooms in
    more convenient locations in
    the house.
    I also keep this inauspicious
    bathroom neat and well
    decorated. I put a perfume
    bottle in there. The toilet
seat is covered all the time.
In fact, it is really pleasant
    to enter this inauspicious
    bathroom.
Are there anything else I can
    do to reduce the adverse
    influence of this bad Feng
Shui? I can have the toilet
    bowl completely removed, put
tiles on the floor, and make
it look that the toilet bowl
    has never existed.

  11. Dear Cecil:
The center point, i.e. the crossing point of the two diagonal lines is in the "side wall" of a half bath (bathroom without shower/bath tub) in my house. Is it the same as the "bathroom is at the center point of my house"?
    Thank you.

  12. Dear Master Cecil:
There is a wooden fence in front of my house. The fence is about 3 feet high; i.e. lower than the waist line, and is more than 10 yards from the main entrance of the house. There are small shrubs and flowers by the fence.
Does this fence block Qi from coming from the street to my house? Is this fence of any threat?

  13. Dear Cecil:
I have decided to fell a tree. The trunk of the tree is in straight line with the edge of my front door and the branches and leaves of the tree totally block my direct view.
The tree remover is coming next week. What kind of improvements in terms of Feng Shui am I supposed to expect after the tree is removed? I would like to have your guidance.
    Thank you.

  14. Dear Master Cecil:
I have read the web page at cecilcompass.htm, which is very helpful. I have posted my questions regarding the unique situating of my house before, and I was to told to provide a sketch of the house. I do not have a scanner to upload the layout. I hope the depict that is provided following my questions would suffice.
I would appreciate having your expertise in analyzing the direction of my house:
    1. Interior Feng Shui Qi of my house, which is a landed property:
From the center point of the house, the frontage of my living room is in the NE direction. The middle point of my front door falls exactly on the dividing line between the NE and East (I used a compass and a protractor to get an exact reading, which is 67.5 degree). Therefore, I am indecisive in telling whether have a NE house or a East house.
    2. Exterior Feng Shui Qi of my House including the Plot of Land:
My house faces the round circle part of a cul-de-sac. Your
instruction says that "the facing of the house" should take from standing at the Main Gate of the house looking outwards to the "road".
In my situation, I should look outward to the cul-de-sac? Or I should look outward to the "road" that comes to the cul-de-sac? For your information, the road that leads to the cul-de-sac is on the left hand side of the sketch shown below; e.g. in the NE direction.
    3. My four good sectors and four bad sectors are influenced by the interior Qi or the exterior Qi? Which Qi has the dominant impact?
I use several letters in the sketch, where
    W: Window
    P: Pillar
C: Center point of the house
    |: wall
    --- : wall
    0: space
The walls are in straight lines, although the walls may not look straight in the sketch below.

I have done a search of this web site and tried to use provided tool to generate the flying star chart for my house.
However, certain numbers of the flying star chart are not shown and it is a cautious measure to prevent this forum from inadated with questions.

  16. Dear Master Cecil:
I have read many of the posts at this Forum. It seems to me that it is not nice to have trees around the house at all. Even a tree is not situated in straight line with a window, a tree can look like slicing into the window depending on the direction I am viewing at.
I live in the United States. Here, people plants lots of trees all around their house.
I can understand that it is not nice to have trees in the front yard of the house. What about having trees in the back yard? Would like to have your opinion. Thank you.

I have a fireplace (a red brick one) situated in the west direction of my house. Because it is metal in the west, I wonder if the west is a bad direction for this fireplace. What should I do to neutralize the conflict? Please advise.

  18. Dear Master Cecil:
    Thanks for your prompt reply.
The utility post looks like slicing into the main entrance of my house. The utility post is thin, which is 6 inches by 6 inches; however, it is not very high -- less than 3 feet.
I cannot move the utility post because there are wires and cables inside. What should I do? Can I grow climbing vine around it? Or should I plant a couple of shrubs to cover it up from the view?
    Please advise.

Thank you for your reply to my questions regarding posts in my front yard. Now, my question is what I should do with it?
The size of this utility post (where electricity wires and telephone cables are) is 6 inches by 6 inches and less than 3 feet high. Standing at my front door, this post looks like slicing into my front entrance and I cannot remove this post (utility work inside).
Should I plant shrubs around this post to block my view of this post? Or should I grow climbing vines, such as trumpet vine, around the post? Please advise. Thank you very much.

  21. Dear Master Cecil:
I have a landed property. There is no tree or street lamp post in my view at the front of the house.
However, there is a mailbox post and a utility post at far edge of my front yard.
    1. The mailbox post is at the side of the street. The size of the post is 3 inches by 3.5 inches and less than 4 feet high.
    2. The utility post (where electricity wires and telephone cables are) is again at the edge of the property line. The size of the post is 6 inches by 6 inches and less than 3 feet high.
Are these post considered to be a threat? Please advise. Thank you very much.

  22. Dear Master Cecil:
Are trees in the back of the house detrimental to the Feng Shui of the property even the trees look like slicing into back windows?
In addition, I am told that one single stand alone post in the back is inauspicious. There is no post around my property. However, there is one single stand alone "very high" tree in the back of my house. This tree is in my back neighbor's property and is only about a foot from the property line. Nonetheless, there is also a fence, which is about four feet high, separates our properties. Is this tree a threat? Please advise.
