  1. Dear Robert,
Great job for all the enhancements.
Allow me to comment that it will be even more useful if this additional
analysis and information is accompanied with easy-to-understand
explanation, meaning how do we make use of such information to our
advantage, because sometimes I find it hard to "apply" if we do not really
    understand all the "technical" analysis.

  2. Irene mentioned that there are 4 power elements in his chart.
Which are the deities classified as power elements? Authority and
    Determination?

It is very interesting to see how his pillars contain 4 power elements
    and
4 wealth elements...no wonder he controls the computer software
    industry and
is the richest man in the world. I was told that if you have 4 wealth
elements in your pillars, there's a big chance of you getting very, very
    rich.
  3. More questions for the Chinese coins:
Will any so-call Chinese calls that are round, with a square hole at the
middle serve the purpose? Or are there special ones?
When I tried to look around for the Chinese calls, I found some in the
shops that sell Chinese joss-sticks. They cost as cheap as thirty cents.
And I was told they are probably faked ones, as the real Chinese coins
would probably cost more. Apparently, those coins that I could find are
from the Ching Dynasty, as they have the Ching Emperor's names on one
    of the faces.
    Please enlighten.

I read with interest Robert your cure of the coins.
Here in Perth it is not possible to get chinese coins with the hole in the
centre in order to put the red ribbon through.
What do you suggest as an alternative ?

  4. Dear Robert,
There is something I don't understand. Please read below:
    From: "Robert Lee"
Similarly, if this person is a weak Fire, and this main door happens to
represent that the office is a water element. Do you think that this is good
for a weak Fire? Yes, I would think so and in fact it would give the
    owner a great boost!
Question: As Water destroys Fire and this person happens to be a
Weak Fire, what is the reason behind that you mentioned "it would give
the owner a great boost", as I would assume the opposite.

  5. Dear Cecil and Robert,
What do Competitor deity and Emotional Intelligence deity govern?
Competitor sounds negative me. I have two of each of these deities. Is that bad?
How about Friend deity? I have no Friend deity. Again, is that bad?
For the new Symbolic Stars, is it very hard to encounter them? I don't find any of the Symbolic Stars at all in any of my 10-year luck pillar. In the yearly analysis, the first time I encounter any is at age 53!
    Thanks and best regards,
    Rose

  6. Dear Robert,
    The test data for
    1. Strong Earth vs Weak Fire
    1st Person: 12 May 1973
    2nd Person: 20 Apr 1975
Result: Weak Fire destroys Strong Earth
Result makes sense when reverse the order of the 1st and 2nd person.
    2a.Strong Metal vs Strong Earth
    1st Person: 16 Nov 1972
    2nd Person: 12 May 1973
Result: Strong Earth destroys Strong Metal
2b.Strong Earth vs Strong Metal (reversed)
    1st Person: 12 May 1973
    2nd Person: 16 Nov 1972
Result: Strong Metal exhaust Strong Earth, and need Metal and Water
Hope this helps you to debug.

  7. Dear Robert,
I have been trying out the beta version, trying to analyze how different elements interact. Here are some that I don't understand why:
    1. Comparing Weak Fire vs Strong Earth
The result is Weak Fire destroys Strong Earth. Why so?
    2. Comparing Strong Metal and Strong Earth
The result is Strong Metal exhaust Strong Earth, need Metal and Water to improve relationship.
I supposed the Water is to exhaust the Metal. Why do we still need more Metal?
    Best regards,
    Rose

  8. Dear Cecil & Robert,
I am also reading the same book by Lillian. There is something that really troubled me:
She emphasized in her book (pg. 112) that the correct way to analyze the interactions of the stars is to examine the relationship of "each of the secondary star numerals with the main numerals first" before examining the relationship of the "secondary stars with each other." Is that right?
    Thank you and best regards,
    Rose

Personally, I don't see why you should use water, I think that Metal will again be the best solution. Because both stars are

------> Source of Info: pg 62 of Lillian Too's Flying Star Feng Shui. I believe she was concentrating on only the base 2 mountain 3 combination. Isn't thar dangerous to analyze the situation only partially?

    b. South: base 2, mountain 1, water 3
    Theory 1: 1(weak water), 3(strong wood)
    Need FIRE to weaken wood
Theory 2: consider the 2/3 combo and can be
    controlled by large presence of
    water
    [Robert's reply]
Fire is the correct element to emply here because 1 weak water is an
auspicious star, while strong wood requires Fire to deduce the influence.
    Questions:
FIRE and WATER seem contradictory. Which is the
    right one?
    [Robert's reply]

What so contradictory about it? Water destroy Fire, but Fire destroy Metal.
------> What I meant by contradictory refers to the different cure proposed by Theory 1 (Use Fire) and Theory 2 (Use Water). Here again, the source of theory 2 comes from pg. 62 of LT's Flying Star Feng Shui (similar here, as she was concentrating on the base 2 water 3 combination)
------> There are very limited books I could find on Flying Star. I've got two, both from LT: Chinese Numerology and Flying Star Feng Shui. After reading them, there are several confusing aspects that troubled me, as they either appear incorrect or do not make much sense to me (like those questions I have posted to your forum in previous mails). Thank you so much for indulging my many questions.
    Best regards,
    Rose
  10. Dear Cecil & Robert,
I am confused about something, as my knowledge on Flying Star is limited.
For the natal chart of NW3 of period 3, there are two bad sectors identified:
    a. North: base 3, mountain 2, water 4
Theory 1: Look at the mountain & water stars
    2(strong earth), 4(weak wood)
earth is controlled by wood, so need METAL to control the wood
Theory 2: Consider the 2/3 combo of mountain and base stars
    2(strong earth), 3(strong wood)
Cure by placing a large urn of water here
    Questions:
Theory 1: don't we need to consider the weak wood is too weak to control the strong earth?
Theory 2: why water? water enhances wood that can then continue to destroy earth?
    b. South: base 2, mountain 1, water 3
    Theory 1: 1(weak water), 3(strong wood)
    Need FIRE to weaken wood
Theory 2: consider the 2/3 combo and can be controlled by large presence of water
    Questions:
FIRE and WATER seem contradictory. Which is the right one?
    Is there any precedence among
    Mountain vs Water stars
    Mountain vs Base stars
    Water vs Base stars?

  11. Dear Cecil,
Yes, I understand what the "birth chart" of a house is about. My questions were directed more towards houses built in the next period. For these houses, the reigning number used is then #8. So, does #8 continue to mean Future Prosperity in those charts? or should it mean Current Prosperity instead at that time?
In short, I was asking do the numerals have different meanings for birth charts of different periods? e.g. Does #7 always mean Current Prosperity for all houses built/renovated in all periods?
I apologize if my questions seems confusing. Actually, the more I read, the more I myself become confused, as sometimes I find so many different answers to the same questions :( (Different masters teach their students differently I think) And it is hard to judge which is the correct one.
    Thank you and best regards.

  12. Hi Cecil / Robert,
I read that 7 is considered auspicious in period #7 but not other periods.
Does that mean the base stars will have different meanings for different periods?
    e.g. for period 7,
    6 means Fading Prosperity
    7 means Current Prosperity
    8 means Future Prosperity
    9 means Distant Prosperity
by the same token, for period 8,
    7 will mean Fading Prosperity
    8 will mean Current Prosperity....
and double-8 for period 8 is as auspicious as the double-7 for period 7?
What does 7 means for period 8 houses?

  13. In your electronic book: 101 Authentic Feng Shui Tips and Fixes, Question 37-2, it is mentioned that one's wealth sector corresponds to the sector that one's main element destroys.
    Eg. for a Water person, the Fire sector (South) is thus considered the wealth sector;
As for my roommate and myself (both Strong Fire), NW or W (Metal sectors) is then our wealth sector. Our FS report shows that
    W: BS=9:Very Auspicious, MS=8, WS=1
    NW: BS=8:Very Auspicious, MS=7, WS=9
NW is also where the main entrance is.
However, West is my DEATH sector under 8-House.
Is it advisable to place a fish tank in the WEST sector?
    Thanks and best regards,
    Rose

    Actually the correct way is:-
    Base Star
    1. Know the competion of the date of house >or last major renovated date.
This information immediate helps to deduce >the Period for 20-year (Reigning Number)
    2. Layout the Base Star onto a 9 Grid Square >or 8 Wedged Pie layout (both essentially the >same).

So, to determine the Base Star, we only need the completion date (or last major renovation date) of the house.
    e.g. 1964-1983, period 6, reigning # is 6
    1984-2003, period 7, reigning # is 7
Don't we have to take into consideration the period of interest? For example, for House A built in period 6, it might be an auspicious house during period 6 itself, but became inauspicious in period 7 and 8. When analysing House A for period 6, we use reigning number 6. What about analysing it for period 7 and 8?
    Thank you.
  15. Something to share with all:
In the process of curing the seemingly bad Feng Shui of my studio unit (I am still helpless though :( ), I have been observing everything closely and thinking hard what I have recently done or changed or shifted.
I have changed my sleeping position about two months ago, after I have learned my best directions for my KUA.
I woke up this morning and noticed that one corner of my wall-height wardrobe is directly facing my head when I sleep. I then thought that this might be the culprit of "sha qi".
As Cecil/Robert often says "what you can't see, can't hurt you", I was wondering whether I could cure this protruding corner by hanging some strips of fake plants along the corner to cover its sharp v-shaped edge. Is that effective?
By the same token, could we do the same to overhead-beams (other than hanging two bamboo-flutes to form the top Ba-Gua profile)?
    Thank you.

Correct me if I am wrong:
Mountain Stars are found in the sectors with mountain star numerals = 1, 6, 7 or 8
What about Water Stars? I don't see any Water Stars in my FS charts.

  17. Cecil/Robert has emphasized before that often times fish tank is used only as a cure, rather than enhancer. To be effective, is it true that fish tank should be "open" to allow Qi to flow into, or it does not matter?
This concerns me as my fish tank, by design, is a "closed" fish tank with a bulb at the top.

  18. Good Morning to Cecil, Robert and fellow forum members,
I am reading Lillian Too's Chinese Numerology. As Robert pointed out earlier, she skipped a lot of details and there are some minor errors in the book. After understanding the FS method introduced in the book, I have a few questions to ask regarding this school of geomancy.
    1. To understand the meaning better, I would like to know the actual Chinese character for "Siang Sin" and "Chor Sin". Correct me if I am wrong:
    "Sin" means Star
"Siang" is the Siang in "Ji2 Siang2" (auspicious)
    No idea about "Chor"
    2. These two secondary stars correspond to the Mountain Star and Water Star mentioned in Geomancy-online's Flying Star report:
    Mountain Star = Chor Sin
Water Star = Siang Sin, right?
    3. Lillian mentioned that we have to know the bearing of the BACK DOOR too. But I didn't see how that was used in the method. Was that a mistake?
    4. Correct me if I am wrong here:
To analyse a house with Flying Star method, we have to know
    i. the completion date of the house
ii. the period of interest (7 for 1984-2003, called the reigning number)
    1. Start from the Lo-Shu grid of the reigning number.
    2. Depends on the bearing of the Main Entrance, fill in the center secondary stars.
    3. Depends on the sector bearing of the Main Entrance, deduce the movement (+ or -) of the Siang Sin.
    4. Depends on the sector bearing of the Main Entrance and the ODD/EVEN of the center Chor Sin, deduce the movement of the Chor Sin.
    Questions:
    1. I don't see the how the Completion Date of the house is used. How is that piece of info used?
    Thank you very much.
    @->--------

  19. Thanks Cecil.
We are willing to take the risk of "experimenting". We will go with the less auspicious NW3 chart. I think this is less auspicious based on my comparison on the two charts. Cecil, could you take a look at both charts and confirm that this NW3 chart is indeed the less auspicious one? TQ.
By looking at my attached layout sent earlier and the FS chart (NW3), could you advice on what is wrong with the placement of things in the unit that cause us misery?
Specific questions on the FS chart:
Main entrance: NW sector, my Spook sector, base star 8, mountain star 7 and water star 9 (two auspicious stars). There is a closed wardrobe here (please refer to my attached layout earlier for detail info). Can I activate the mountain star here by placing a paper-weight in the upper shelf of the wardrobe (the wardrobe is against a solid wall but is always closed when not in use)?
Center sector: base star 7, 6&8. Auspicious sector. Should I activate the Mountain Star here, or should I leave the center sector as it is (as I read from somewhere, the center should be "clear")?
My bed: East sector. base star 5, 4&6. This is also my Excellent sector in 8-house. Use Metal to control Wood. What does it mean 8-1 combination "depends on star 5 and base star"?
South-West sector: base star 4, 3&5. This is where my toilet is :( Is that why our Romance is down the drain?
It also says use Fire to weaken Wood.
What does it mean again 8-1 combo "depends on star 5 and base star"?
South sector: base star 2, 1&3. Use Fire to weaken Wood. This is an inauspicious sector. This is where our little kitchen is (we boil water and sometimes cook Maggie Mee here. Most of our food / snacks is also placed here on the round table).
    (a) Would activating the Mountain Star here help?
    (b) Would use Fire to weaken Wood here help?
    Should I do both (a) and (b)?
Based on my 8-house chart, this is my Prosperity sector. What could I do to revive it?
Currently, there are some potted plants on the round table too. I will remove them to stop them from enhancing the Wood.
South-East sector: base star 6, 5&7. Use Wood to control Earth.
I have some green money plants here. I believe that is good, as they are Wood.
I also have a hexagonal fish tank here. Is that okay (as Water enhances Wood)?
As I understand fish tank could be a tricky thing, if not placed properly. Where is the best location for my fish tank?
Is there an estimated duration that we have to wait before we could see some effects?
I am still confused on the implications of the 8-1 combinations and the base star. If we don't do anything to the sector, does it mean all the bad implications (by 8-1 and base star) will harm us?
Thank you so much for answering so many of my questions again :)
    Best wishes,
    Rose
