Dear Edwin, Please goto www.geomancy-online.com and use the Free report to generate your element. It will generate your true element. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Rae, If not sure, don't `activate' anything. It is not like buying some objects or items at $500.00 and hoping that one can get back a return of $1,500 or more. The only sensible way to `invest' money is through proper finance schemes or through low risk returns such as Fixed Deposits or Savings Account. Many fall into the trap of "Credit Card Feng Shui". Where, one gets cash advance in the `hope' of getting a return. The only return here is a bill with accumulated interests that loan sharks would only goggle their eyes on. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Angeline, Under macro Feng Shui; for Singapore, which is located in the south, ideal colour of doors especially entrance doors is white or represent the metal element. For your case, I have seen the doors and felt that it is `minor' and in my opinion, will not have any effect on your family. As opposed to the headboard which is symbolic of sleeping in a tomb. Therefore, I personally feel that there is no issue and there is no need to paint the lovely `natural' wood coloured door(s). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Kenny, 1. Under the 20 Year Flying Star analysis, for a house built under Period 7; it is a bonus if there is a 7 7 combination at the main entrance. 2. The base number would also be looked at to find out the degree of auspiciousness of a 7 7 combination house under current Period 7. 3. Under the 20 Year Flying Star analysis, a house will (always) remain under that period if no major renovations were done in the period. For example, For a Period 6 house; that house will continue to enjoy 6 6 combinations under Period 6 provided there is no major renovations carried out anytime afterwards. Thus a Period 6 house with double 77 combinations will still have this birth chart even under Period 7, Period 8 or Period 9 so long as there are no major renovations. For a Period 7 house. This is the same situation. A Period 7 house with double 7 7 will remain so during period 7 and even under Period 8, 9 & restart at 1,2,3,4 etc... Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Tom, Further to what I mentioned earlier, here are some other considerations:- 1. Symbolism is important in Feng Shui. I am not sure about natural crysals or gemstones but the shape preceeds material used. For example, for a piece of wood shaped like a pyramid, although its natural element is wood; but because it has taken the form of a pyramid, it should now be classified as a `fire element'. Alternatively, the piece of wood has been shaped like a pyramid and painted red. Here, red = fire element would also make it as a fire element. 2. Traditional Feng Shui is all about the Five elements concept: Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal elements. Although, the methology or methods used may differ greatly by the various Traditional Feng Shui school, the way the five elements is used should be similar. The application depends on how well, the FS school knows how to apply the Five Elements concept. 3. Thus, we come to the point: each material or object can be classified under a specific element in Feng Shui. Although there may be differing views on classification of materials, one cannot discount the fact that i.e. cyrstals (or geniune crystals) come from the earth. Some FS practioners may have slightly differing views and could perhaps classify it as water element. But, in my opinion, it is most likely considered the " Earth element " especially if it is the raw material. 4. What is the difference here? Why mention Earth element? Unfortunately under Flying Star Feng Shui, the two most `fearful' numberology numbers are #5 and #2. 4.1 #5 and #2 are both EARTH elements 4.2 #5 is known as misfortune. 4.3 #2 is known as sickness. 5. Since cyrstal or such rocks or gems could be classified as EARTH elements, many professional FS practitioners are more cautious about giving advice such as using crystals or gemstones as cures. 6. It would be different if these `crystals' or gemstones or artifical stones are moulded into objects that result in them symbolising an object. 7. Thus, it would be fine or acceptable if these EARTH objects are made into dragon figurine or say a tortise paper weight. Here, under symbolism, instead of being representing the EARTH element, they are now symbolically represent an item. It is thus common for FS practitioners to advise the use e.g. crystal dragons or a marble torties paper weight to add to the mountain star (when it is found) at an appropriate location. 8. In Flying Star charts, we can find at each sector (there are 9 sectors in total):- # mountain star + # water star -------------------------- on a base number 9. Since there are nine sectors, the #5 can appear in say the mountain star # at NE and it can also appear in another sector as a #water star. There is also the base number #5 to watch. Similiarly we have to watch out #2. Hopefully, if they can be `concentrated' in one sector e.g. NE such that #5 #5 5 Would be nice. But unfortunately, what happens if #5 is scattered all over the 9 grids? This would mean that instead of applying just one 6 coins (metal cure) to neutralise #5s; we now may have to apply metal cure to many sectors. Furthermore, here, the chance of placing too much earth i.e. crystal could result in more bad earth. 9. My opinion, is that if one collects crystals /gemstones, it is more for the love of collecting them and not to base it on FS. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Tom, A warm welcome to the forum. Please see below:- Frankly, Feng Shui is used to: 1. neutralise any bad effects (from the land) 2. enhance beneficial Qi. Basically, it is used to assess "the earth". Therefore, when it concerns Feng Shui, it does not have a special signifiance to it. Thus Shapes and Form Feng Shui, is about assessment of the land i.e. landscape or city, site / building and unit. Compass School Feng Shui especially Flying Star Feng Shui - uses cures if there is an imbalance at a particular sector. Since most of the bad elements are of wood element i.e. #3 #4 and bad metal elements #5 and #2; usually the most common cures is the use of METAL cures. For Sha Qi i.e. under Shapes and Form Feng Shui, for example if there is a lone lamp post facing a window, a FS practitioner may advise the placement of a fish tank. Here, the components of the Fish Tank are: Gold fish = metal element; water = water element these are used to neutralise the lone lamp post. Based on the Five Elements concept. For crystals, this belong more to the `commercialised "Feng Shui" sites. Sites that claim the special significance of crystals. Usually, the characteristics of such " Feng Shui sites " posts lots of material goods or wares for sale. More importantly, the sale of crystals should not be in my opinion, associated with a `special' significance with Feng Shui or ride on it. But in terms of appreciation of crystals, this I believe is a totally different issue. I would like to honestly (based on my opinion) that based on what I mentioned above, Feng Shui or its established practise is `geared' for the analysis of `the earth' i.e. the landscape, site etc... In the past, it applied at a macro level, such as finding good sites for a city or locations of rest (tombs); and palaces. Most of the FS masters, half-geologist etc... and they really examine the soil and examine water positions to find suitable and stable sites. Thus, its purpose is simply to look at the land and how, man who encroach on it, can live in harmony with it. FS therefore does not have a set of rules for harvesting gems or precious stones. This would be best left to the engineers and geologists and specialised equipments/expertise to handle. I hope, I did not disappoint you on the above. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, On the issue of the Grand Duke, there can be controvesy over the definition of how the Grand Duke can be `offended'. Therefore, when answering your question, I used the word `strickly speaking' i.e. where it concerns some advice, it is a must not to offend the Grand Duke. In my opinion, I feel that it is acceptable: 1. When one does a renovation especially take the case; where this is not a new house and we need to renovate the home. When we engage a contractor to do the entire renovation of the home; I feel that this is acceptable. On the `commonsense' approach.. it is not practical to ask the contractor to say do renovation to the home and leave out some parts of the home. This may be impractical. For example, if we need to change the floor tiles, it would not be practical to change the floor tiles while leaving a certain section with the old tiles or to leave the wall unpainted at a specific sector. 2. When we fit a nail or drill a small hole, I feel that this is in my opinion still acceptable. But if can avoid, try to. 3. If we already live in the home and decides to do some renovation, it is best not to do the renovation especially if we are still living in the house. However, if there is a major leak e.g. sewerage pipes and it happens to be at the Grand Duke sector; one cannot help it but to get someone to fix it. Thus, I personally feel that it is difficult to provide `fixed' answers to this question. It depends! Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Damodar, Weak or strong is determined by several factors: 1. On a very general level, the day of birth is referenced to the season the person is born. Based on the interaction of the season ELEMENT STRENGTH, it is looked at in relation to the person's ELEMENT. 2. Depending on the type of Pillars of Destiny chart `done': 2.1 Some simply look at the day of birth, while others look deeper using the interaction of the four pillars. More advanced analysis looks at all four pillars: Year, Month, Day and Time + House of Life and House of Conception. More advanced analysis looks at each pillar = Heaven stem and earthly branches with reference to other stems and earthly branches plus looking at combinations / triple combinations of either clashes or harms. The final result is where one obtains weak or strong element. For the Grand Duke. If the Grand Duke is e.g. in the North. One should be e.g. sitting North facing South. So that one would not confront the grand duke. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Elena, Please see below:- Although a U shaped house is not ideal but overall, it is still acceptable design. Yes, the addition can still be made six months after they move in. Please email to robert-lee@3dmail.com so that he can provide you with a free credit to generate the month auspicious date. Here, you need to obtain the breadwinner's date of birth (time optional) and if the month of reno is clear, use the report to find out a good date to start the renovation. The above looks ok to me. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, I elaborate further at a later date. Do note that under the Five Elements concept, we often introduce a controlling element. For example, in your case of WEAK WOOD element, and if the season of influence is METAL element; to neutralise the METAL element effects on the person, the remedy is to introduce either: a. WATER element. Here water produces or increases WOOD. b. Alternatively if we do not introduce WATER, we can introduce FIRE element. Where FIRE destroys METAL. Under Para a. We apply the productive cycle i.e. Water -> increase weak Wood = STRONG WOOD. To help weak WOOD grow in strength to overcome METAL element. Undera Para b. We apply the destructive cycle i.e. using FIRE to destroy METAL and reducing it. In both situations, we have thus considered as having applied a controlling element. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, I understand your situation/position as it is difficult to convince someone else on this. Strictly speaking, one should not even drill (i.e. touch the `grand duke' at the specific location). Unlike a situation where, " one does " a major renovation i.e. call a contractor to do it for `you'. This information is found under the Flying Star report at www.geomancy-forum.com Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Slawek, 1. Usually, a more acurate analysis is to use the Flying Star analysis. 2. Based on Flying Star numerology, do look out for #2 sickness and #5 misfortune nos. 3. It is my belief that the South sector has an imbalance and it could also be the result of bad wood #3 and the addition of water element i.e. fish tank that could create such an imbalance. 4. To sound `less complicated'; since your family members are now sick; it is best to drain off the water or remove the fish tank as soon as possible. Certainly, there is indeed an imbalance at that sector. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Stephaine, 1. I can quite understand your confusion on how to apply the various concepts that appears in various books - authors, FS practitioners. 2. On a macro level; it would be best to avoid `modern' day concepts on Feng Shui. Such as Ba Gua teachings or the use of Fixed templates. 3. Where possible, try to find out, where possible, whether certain forms of FS is based on `modern' day teachings or traditional forms of Feng Shui. I understand this may be difficult if one learns from a third party. But if it is through a book or site, try to avoid sites relating to Black Hat Sect FS. The clue is to check on the author's background and /or association especially with Lin Yun. 4. Next, under Traditional FS there are three main areas:- 4.1 Shapes and Form Feng Shui 4.2 Compass School: The Eight House Theory and Flying Star Theory 4.3 Eight Aspirations / Association and " Corner Feng Shui. 5. In my opinion, Para 4.1 and 4.2 should be used and within them have the more potent or most effective set of theories and concepts. Para 4.3 in my opinon, quite similar to fixed template Feng Shui and should best be avoided where possible. Here, it is very easy to write books on this subject and many book authors have capitalised on this. For example, the author may suggest that one enhance one's SW corner for romance. Or enhance the North = career sector. Such concepts are similar to fixed template `Feng Shui' and it would not be possible for everyone to enhance their SW and have a positive result in that if 100,000 does that, it does not mean that 100,000 persons would get results in romance. 6. Always take note that in Traditional FS, there is likely to be personalisation: 6.1. For example, even in Shapes and Form FS, we should not place a neutralising agent at the front door of every home! Only if there is a poison arrow e.g. a sharp corner of a building aimed at our main door, must we try to neutralise this. 6.2 Under the Eight House Theory, we look at our Gua (Kua number) and then see which type of house is suitable to us. 6.3 A 20 year Flying Star chart takes into account the specific direction of a house. Thus, it is my belief, that you should discount the Ba Gua concepts. Apply each of the traditional FS concepts, but understand their purpose and limitations. FS cannot be looked into in isolation. We cannot simply look within our home for improvement if everything else outside our house crumbles or fall apart. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. For a matter of interest, if you visit www.lovesigns.net; you can see a pictural chart of the 12 animal signs. 2. Do look closely the animal sign that is opposite your animal sign. For each animal, the animal sign directly opposite your sign. 3. For example for an OX, the most incompatible animal sign is the RAM. 4. Under www.lovesigns.net; it is based on just the Year of birth. 5. Ba Zi Feng Shui or Pillars of Destiny i.e. Year, Month, Day and time looks far more closely on the interactions; combinations, triple combinations and clashes to provide a detail analysis as opposed to a simplistic model as in the Year of birth " Chinese horoscope " under www.lovesigns.net. 6. If one looks carefully:- 6.1 Each animal sign can be `reduced' to the lowest common denominator i.e. one of the five elements i.e. a Rat = water element. 6.2 The combination of heavenly stems and 12 earthly branches is a more accurate analysis. Under www.lovesigns.net, you can `click' on the image of OX and you can see in general the animal signs that are in real conflict; need much effort to work on relationship or favourable to your element. Sometimes relationship is: 1. It depends on the individual's maturity and the friends or partner's view point. 2. It is hope that reading too much of such horoscope does not result in `auto-suggestion'. For example, if one constantly reads that an OX is most unfavourable to a RAM person, we could perhaps, have a preconceived idea and instead of trying to understand and work things out, it may become worse off. 3. Many of this type of conflicts and change have been studied by Management Gurus and it would (in my opinion) be useful to use such tools instead of relying fully on 'horoscopes' and traits associated with it. 4. If one do use the `horoscope; it would be good to understand the nature of that particular `animal sign' and by understanding that sign better, we could perhaps, learn why e.g. a person such as an OX can be at times `stubborn'. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, "Five Yellows" is a common term used under Flying Star numerology or Luo Shou grid. Where #5 is known as the misfortune number. It is related to the five elements to the Earth element. As Earth element is represented by Yellow colour, therefore, some Flying Star FS practitioners call it " FIVE (5) Yellow ". Thus e.g. Wu Kwei or 5 ghosts etc.. are other terms and are no where close to nor `associated' with this number. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Angel and Bernard, Please see below:- For NE30 degrees, avoid placing the crysals and amethyst at the location where you are considering placing your dining table. That location should preferably be avoided. For the collection of 50+ pieces, you can place it at the location (previously the altar of the previous owner). Avoid placing it when you first step into the home i.e. at the divider of the room. The above is the better location. Preferably, your fridge be placed just after you step into the kitchen area (to the right) or next to the washing machine). Avoid, placing the frige facing the stove in the SE sector. Yes, you can use Metal i.e. 6 metal coins in this location. Cures are used to cure a sector and it does not have a direct influence on your youngest daughter (Strong Fire). The `location cure' is used specifically to neutralise that sector. If you are renovationing the whole house, in my opinion, it does not really matter. And where possible:- 1. Do not choose a date to move in before the renovation 2. Especially on the day of renovation of the EAST wall, do not enter the premises. 3. Based on the auspicious date report, choose a good date for the contractor to start work. In the SW You can do this. But make sure that adequate light do get into the bedroom and into the toilet. Avoid a situation where, the area within the double doors is `dark' and perhaps impact on the lighting within the toilet even if one wall is an external wall. The lighting has to be visualised carefully. Warmest Regards, Cecil
-
Dear Bee Cheng, Most of the time, majority of `cures' required has to do with the use of metal element especially to cure bad earth i.e. #2 and #5 and bad wood e.g. #3 & #4. Thus, it is less of an issue with regards to finding a location for a metal safe. If one wants to go into further detail, Flying Star would provide better `fine-tuning' but otherwise, I personally feel, try to place it in a room especially at one corner. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Damodar, Our reports and analysis are customised to show the North direction on the top. Therefore all calculations done have been changed and correctly reflect this. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Simon, Please see below:- Generally, the free reading you get is based on the version 7 where it only takes into account the 4 main pillars (hour, day, month, year). It does not yet take into account the two additional houses (House of Life and House of Conception) as in the version 8 reports. So it DOSE NOT provide a full reading. Also, because it is free, we did not fully analyse the various combinations/joins and clashes/harms/punishmens/self punishments. And lastly, it is all defaulted to the "weak" element. So you will only a basic reading but the fact that you are say a weak element (eg. weak wood). Means that your true element is a wood for example is 100% correct and provides a fairly basic analysis for the luck pillars. Otherwise, it is not a complete reading as stated. It is a limited Pillars of Destiny reading. However, it is accurate enough for many general analysis. You can read up more on the following URL:- http://www.geomancy.net/help/pod.htm Anyway, I have extracted a small section from the help which helps you answer some of the question you asked in the extract below:- Take note that in the Traditional Pillars of Destiny, this location factor was never calculated. It was only recently that such factors was introduced. And how was it done? Simply obtain the location factor and adjust the GMT timezone to get the current location factor. However, the true way is to apply the location factor into the changing influence of the Moon. This is the true correct way to apply if you really want to apply the location factor. However, personally, this is actually not needed. Reason:- 1. The HOUR OF BIRTH only helps to further determine whether the birth element is weak or strong if found. Thus, it would at least be best to be able to have this information. 2. The HOUR OF BIRTH does help to provide an additional House Pillar for advance analysis. Otherwise, it is no longer used when analysing your 10-year, 5-yearly, yearly, monthly or daily luck pillars. This means that ultimately the determination of whether a day is good or bad depends very much on the interaction with the birth element and the 10-year, pillars for example. So the only usefulness of the HOUR OF BIRTH is to hopefully provide a more accurate determination of the birth element strength and the balance of the five element in your chart. 3. The pillars of Destiny was designed to work with our without the HOUR OF BIRTH. This means that if you read several of the books written by other authors or masters, and you hear them commenting on the birth chart of famous people, they often do not even have the HOUR OF BIRTH and NEVER apply the location factor and yet get an accurate reading? Simply because it is never really needed. The location factor if done incorrectly can in fact make your reading even more incorrect especially for those of the location factor online calculator we have seen developed or applied to the Pillars of Destiny. They get your location and Plus or Minus the GMT timezone to get your so call true birth element. But I can tell you that is wrong as the Plus or Minus GMT timezone only affects one direction of the change of the influence. Also, if this shift is applied to Xia Calendar or Seasonal Calendar calculation system of the Pillars of Destiny, this is again wrong. As the location factor is actually mentioned by very old traditional master to calculation the changes in the MOON location. Xia Calendar or Seasonal Calendar does not have directly connection with the Lunar System as it is based on the 30 days of a moon. It already is unable to determine the BLIND DATES which is missing for certain years. It is because Geomancy.Net understands all these reasons plus the fine details about the analysis of Pillars of Destiny that we have safely and deliberately left out the Location faction which can really cause a headache to many people especially if they get it wrong. A good reading of a Pillars of Destiny requires a good understanding of the various interaction of your chart and the years etc. With that solid understanding and applying the correct analysis techique, a pretty accurate reading can be done. This can be seen from the many people who we have done a reading for based on the system developed on the Geomancy.Net website. Please continue to read the extracted FAQ on the matter for further details:- ---- Begin Extract ---- Do we really need to take the location factor into account? Well, it is said that if we do have the location factor, it will make it more accurate in the analysis. However, personally, geomancy.net finds that this is absolutely not necessary. Why? This is because if you really understand the Pillars of Destiny as we really do, there is no need to worry about the hour of birth. Remember that most of the analysis done by the Pillars of Destiny is for 10-yearly, 5 yearly, and at most yearly. Normally, we do not recommend monthly analysis (although it is possible.) So is there really a big difference if the chart is several hours off? The Hour factor will help determine one of the additional pillars in the version 8. But does not have much additional effect on the version 7 report. The hour pillars will provide 1 additional pillars to the day, hour and month. And it will to some extend have some effect on the final analysis of the strong or weak element. But that is the main key influence. It does not influence the Month or year pillar all. And since it does not affect that two, which happens to be the deciding factor of the 10-yearly and yearly analysis. It has very little impact in terms of the final analysis, unless the element of hour pillar is determined to the change the basic element strength. Pillars of Destiny was designed with the concept that it helps to chart your heavenly luck. And all that is really needed is the DAY, MONTH and YEAR. If these three pillars are inaccurate your entire analysis will be wrong. The hour pillar, house of life and house of conception which is considered the additional pillars can be ignored and a basic analysis can still be done. So what these additional pillars do is to try to provide more accurate analysis, but is not 100% necessary. Thus, even if it miss a little, it will have little impact. So should I take the GMT timezone into account? Our answer is no. You should not take the GMT timezone (+0800) etc to adjust your date of birth. This is because due to the many simplification in the GMT timezone, it only takes into account a shift in one of the location factor in the world. The more accurate way is to take the timezone in accordance with the moon location. However, for most cases, it is different to provide the actual location where you are born. Thus, if you provide an inaccurate location factor, you risk the chance of making the report LESS accurate than NOT adjusting anything at all. As mentioned, the initial pillars of destiny is already so flexible and forgiving in ignoring the hour of birth, thus it has already put in some possibility of mistakes in the hour of birth. Thus, we feel that you can safely ignore or do not concentrate so much on this factor. -- End Extract --

Dear Jen, In order to `destroy' or neutralise " Five Yellows " or #5 (Misfortune): 1. Some FS practitioners avoid recommending 5 rod wind chimes. This is because, no. 5 is associated with #5 or Five Yellows. Secondly, where possible, use hollow metal rods instead of solid metal rods. 2. Some wind chimes are made of several materials. 3. Given the controversy and the `complications' of not only buying the type of wind chime: no. of rods? 3, 5 or 6 or more? In my opinion, it is preferable to use a 6 rod wind chime : where 6 represents Big metal. 4. Under the Five Element concept, 6 = Big metal. Big metal is used to destroy or neutralise " Five Yellow " (earth element). 5. One must also pay more attention to the placement of a metallic wind chime at: North-East (Devil's main gate) and other metal element directions e.g. West... 6. If there is no `wind' the wind chimes do not make any sound. As a wind chime is suppose to make sounds... it would be rather `odd' that it remains silent. 7. During the 7th month or the month where the belief that the hell of gates are opened and `hungry' ghosts are let to wonder on earth, certain wavelength (metallic sound) may cause these ghosts to be attracted to the particular home. Alternatively playful imps may cause nightmares to particular residents in the home. 8. Given, that there are so many issues surounding the use of wind chimes; in my opinion other better alternatives include:- 8.1. The use of 6 coins (I-ching) tied with red string. Where 6 represents `Big Metal' and the 6 metal coins is used to control earth. 6.2 The use of a pendulum clock. The `tick-tock' represents the constant ticking of metallic sound (provided the pendulum clock is made of brass/copper material. 6.3 Some FS practitioners in the Far East, sell their copper rulers which they felt is a subsitute to the 6 metal coins. These costs more but is considered the equivalent of the 6 coins. Depending on the #?? mountain and #?? water in relation to base number, if there is a need for metal cure to neutralise Five yellow, then any of the cures as mentioned under Para 6.1, 6.2 or 6.3 can be used with certainty without resorting to moving the bed. Dear Jose, Unfortunately, " Feng Shui " has been highly commercialised and this gives it a really bad " after-taste " or bad reputation. I can quite understand that many people have purchased books or even convinced that they must buy, buy and buy commercialised items "in-exchange" for better luck .... But after-a-while, after having seen no results and yet money gets drained off; many of us would go into dispair and may end up worse - in a vicious cycle of poor finances which affect family relationships etc... The concept of buy, buy, buy and place, place, place may sometimes create more problems also. As the saying goes " Rome was not built in a day". Similarly to understand proper Feng Shui, it cannot be understood in a day. To `rush' into Feng Shui is like the understanding that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Perhaps, you can start by reading some of the resources here. Or read thru, some of the questions posted here. Unfortunately, my advise is for you and your family to withdraw what was placed in the home e.g. bamboo.... and start a fresh. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. For wooden floors, it is not so much of what is considered `best' in Feng Shui but more of "commonsense" or rather experience of using wooden floors. 2. For example, it is felt that it would be better for wooden or parquet floor tiles be used in a bedroom. This is because of the belief that: 2.1 when one wakes up, and gets out of the bed, it would be better to step on wooden floors. This is because wooden floors have less conductivity i.e. one do not feel cold or suddenly feel cold as the feet touches the floor. 2.2 Many people, work in their bedrooms i.e. study table. Therefore, it would be better for their feet to be in contact with a neutral floor i.e. wooden floor. Imagine, placing one's feet constantly on cold tiles. This is considered `unhealthy'. But of-course, one can place a carpet or rug under the study table. 2.3 Many Asians sleep on the floor i.e. family members and children and it is felt that a bed placed on wooden floor tiles would be better than placing it on `cold' ceramic/marble/homogenous tiles. 3. From what I understand, many homes do have bedrooms with `wooden' flooring and the living room / dining room/ kitchen/ toilet area as having ceramic/marble/homogenous or mosaic floor tiles. Thus, it is acceptable to have other floor tiles in other areas of the home and this does not necessary equate with `bad' Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Ernesto, To help you better understand the Chinese 60 year cycle, you can visit:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/calendar.htm and find out more about the Chinese Calendar system which consists of the combination of:- The Ten Heavenly Stems + The Twelve Earthly Branches. You will then be able to understand the " 1 Cycle " of 60 years which is further broken down into Upper, Middle and Lower periods. Happy reading... Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Wasis, For flights, it would depend on the direction of travel and transit through countries. As the flight usually lasts not more than 15 hours, nowadays, in modern times, less concerned of many people of the travel from and to a particular destination with the advent for `heavy' globalisation and travel. Which is frequent. Please see below:- Usually, if the house has brought in `luck' the advise is not to `change' it including the frontage if we can. I believe, the change from a garden to pavement stones would have affected the Feng Shui of your home. Many Chinese who stay in Indonesia were not allowed to use Chinese/Mandarin names but instead to take on such names. For many years, Chinese culture or the Chinese community in Indonesia were for example not allowed to celebrate Chinese new year or associated with Chinese culture or belief. In my opinion, this would explain why we have never heard of practising Feng Shui practitioners (a practise associated with the Chinese) in Indonesia. In my country, the fee depends on the nature of work carried out and the type of building or house that is analysed. For houses, especially in my country FS charges are based on say the number of rooms of a house. For example; different charges for a bungalow house; semi-detached; terrace house and for apartment buildings; it can be classified as: `Five room flat'; `Four room flat' and condominium buildings. For commercial buildings it can be based on negotiation for the entire building or by per square feet area of the site analysed. Depending on the extend of services required; if it requires many follow-up sessions, this can range from say a package audit of approximately US$3,000 to as little as US$288. It varies with the reputation of the FS practitioner. Warmest Regards, Cecil
