Dear Master Cecil,

I have 2 queries:

1) The main door of my apartment faces the master bedroom door...is there a problem here? If so, what can be done to remedy this?

2) Furthermore, due to the layout of the master bedroom, the bed is pushed against one side of a wall, just beside a bay window. This also results in the side of the bed beside the bay window layingjust beneath a beam which stretches the full length of the ceiling.

Actually im also not sure if its a beam since its like a block stretching below the ceiling and flushed against the bay window where the bed is. So it seems as if the bed is lying directly below a beam length-wise just beside the bay window.

Any issues with this, and if so, what can be done to remedy this?

Appreciate your kind advice. Thanks in advance!

1. If you had done a Search using the SEARCH button on the TOP left frame in this forum you can easily find these resources:-

2. For example, it is simply commonsense that for most bedrooms the overhead beam is only a few inches "deep".

3. And commonsensedictates that no one sleeps so close to the bed-head frame. We have the bed frame, we have the pillow. And by the time we place our head on the pillow; the saying goes "fear not" your head will normallybe so far away from this "so called beam".

Commonsense:-

4. As for your 1st question on the main entrance can view the bedroom. Again this has more to do with "feeling unsecure or uncomfortable" as there is an issue with privacy especially if the bed is in full view of the main door.

5. If the bed is occupied by a married couple.. then we may feel uncomfortable.. when we leave the main door open ... when one may be trying to produce birds and bees.. but if one is over 40+ most likely the bees have no more sting.. and birds have less eggs to produce!

6. Otherwise, simply close the bedroom door when not in use. Unless one wants to resort to say ... changing the door position or other closing the door either and/or bedroom and/or main door for privacy. That's all!
