Is it effective to put up buntings to activate #9

Dear Master
I am a rank beginner in feng shui and am thinking of putting up cny red buntings made of paper or plastic with chinesecharacters of "Fu" or double happiness, etc for an entire year for one of my sectors with #9 water star to activate it as some forumer here said that "activate your water star #9 in period 8 and unexpected wealth will come about" in the following configuration

As the Master has said that in period 8, the #7 (weak metal) has turned into a robber and will douse out the #9 (weak fire), I reckon I could only put up paper buntings or red lights to activate #9 water star in the living room. I suppose a water feature is not possible. Or is there another way to go about it to activate? Can I also wrap red plastic paper on my double flourescent lamp in the ceiling of the living room for activation too?

There are two factors, here:-
1. In theory, under the Five Elements concept & Compass School; sounds reasonable.
2. Furthermore, under human factors; if it makes you feel good.. WHY NOT?
