Significance of Ring on the last finger

Dear Master,
The common belief of wearing Ring on the last finger will help to ward off villian. Is there any significance if the Ring is worn on the left or right hand?

1. Frankly, this is an old grandmother’s tale.

2. But unfortunately, based on this tale: what a pity that that "the 老奶奶 ”(or old grandmother) was killed by the villian before she could even warn her grand daughter which hand to wear the ring.

3. Well isn't it a pity? Because of this incident, now, her grand daughter was too distraught to wear the ring anymore.

4. Maybe now, this tale can finally be put to rest. Amen!
