Question:
"Dear Master Cecil Lee,

Hi Master Cecil Lee, sorry to disturb you. I heard from my Chinese friend it is no good to move to the new house in September,is it true? because am planning to move in the month of September."
Reply:

This phenomenon is primarily associated with Chinese culture, as the seventh lunar month is regarded by the Chinese as the 'Ghost Month'. During this period, it is believed that ghosts and spirits are liberated from the lower realm and permitted to wander freely on our physical plane. The commencement of the seventh lunar month occurs on the following dates: Western: July 27, 2014 (Sunday); Lunar: 1st day of the 7th month in the year 2014.

The final day is as follows: Western calendar: August 24, 2014 (Sunday); Lunar calendar: 29th day of the 7th month in 2014. Therefore, in 2014, this date does not occur in September. In some years, the Chinese 7th lunar month may extend into September; however, for this year, it spans from late July to late August 2014. During this period, many Chinese individuals refrain from relocating or marrying.
