February 28, 200026 yr In my kitchen there is a beam that runs exactly on top of my cooking stove. I heard that this is not a good feng shui but I cannot do anything to move my gas stove due to space constraint. Is there anyway to remedy this? What is the effect of having this beam above the gas stove? Please advise.
February 29, 200026 yr Staff Dear Dylan,1. As the cooking stove is considered an important part of the house i.e. providing fire and food, some Shapes and Form School believe that it is important not to have a beam above it.This is similar to having a beam above a person sitting e.g. at a seat.2. Where possible, try to avoid it. Else, there is nothing much one can do here unless the ceiling is even (false ceiling).2.1 But, a false ceiling is not recommended in a kitchen as it may catch fire.2.2 If the ceiling beam is made of concrete, it is equally not practical to use two flutes as they are made of wood and may also catch fire.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 2/28/00 2:22:00 AM, Anonymous wrote:In my kitchen there is a beamthat runs exactly on top of mycooking stove. 46 minutes ago46 min Staff Sample diagram showing what could happen if the stove is placed in this spot in a typical 3, 4, or 5 bedroom flat This does not apply if the unit is on the top floor. +++ Because of what was mentioned above I am willing to share my secret recipe with you, but that means I would have to get rid of you. It’s not surprising that food tastes much better when the stove is placed right under a waste pipe That subtle tilt of the head, the closed eyes, and that elegant nose catching the “aroma” of her secret recipe. She’s not just cooking, she’s feeling it.
