Kallang/Whampoa

Located at Jalan Tenteram and along the Kallang River, Tenteram Vantage  comprises 4 residential blocks ranging from 30 to 32 storeys, where 1,040 units of 3- and 4-room flats are offered. The name references these prominent and tall residential blocks.

Tenteram Vantage features lush greenery and open spaces with facilities such as children’s playgrounds and fitness stations for adults and elderly. Residents can unwind by taking a relaxing stroll along the nearby Kallang River and Park Connectors. The roof garden above the Multi-Storey Car Park (MSCP) offers opportunities for neighbourly interaction, while a preschool and resident’s network centre are conveniently located within the project.

Please refer to the site plan located at the top of this page, for the facilities provided in the project. Facilities in this project will be accessible by the public.

About Kallang/Whampoa Town

Residents at Tenteram Vantage can enjoy a wide variety of food and shopping options. For hawker fare and fresh produce, residents can head to the neighbourhood centre located at Blocks 81 to 92 Whampoa Drive. More choices are available at shopping malls including Balestier Plaza, Shaw Plaza, and Zhongshan Mall. Visit Where2Shop@HDB to find out more about HDB’s heartland shops in this area.

Residents who enjoy sporting activities can stop by St. Wilfred ActiveSG Sports Centre, which houses the St. Wilfred Field and the St. Wilfred Squash and Tennis Centre. The upcoming Farrer Park Sports Centre will include swimming pools, a field, as well as other sporting facilities for residents to enjoy. There are also other outdoor spaces along Kallang River, such as the Whampoa and Kallang Park Connectors. Residents who are keen to pick up new hobbies can visit Kolam Ayer and Whampoa Community Clubs.

Bendemeer Primary and Secondary School, as well as Hong Wen School are located nearby for families with school-age children.

A. The Common Bin Lobby (CBL) is right next to Stack/Unit #669. This means the living room windows are next to the open area of the CBL lobby.

B. The front doors of #641 and #643 are clearly visible from the Common Bin Lobby and the common bins

Related: Photos from HDB Tampines Greenweave are not exactly the same as stacks 641 and 643. However, these things can affect the resale value.

This unit directly faces the common bin area and both the recycling and regular bins.

It is important to look at the block plan before deciding to buy a unit.

C. For Stack #631, the main concern is whether the Common Bin Lobby (CBL) is kept clean most of the time. For Stack #633, the service yard probably cannot see into the CBL. But for #631, the service yard can likely see into the CBL, so keep this in mind.

D. For Stack #625, the service yard can probably see into the CBL. For Stack #601 and #625, the master bedroom windows are closest to the CBL.

Introduction: For brand new just launched developments, there is no physical site to visit the completed buildings and apartments. 

1. The only thing we can do is to visit the show room (which often is close-by to the site) as well as obtain a sales brochure and see the mock-up of the development. As well as try to ask questions from the sales agent (if any).

1.1. We must still try to gather as much information as we can.

2. Summary of Case Studies in this article.

If the information is overwhelming. Pick and choose selective articles...

1A & B: Common Rubbish Bin
2A & B: Interior unit Dry Walls
3: Fire at Heaven's Gate
4: Sha Qi or Poison Arrows from Club-house roof-lines

6: Drainage at the Balcony

8: Mixed Developments + Cooling Towers

10: Coffee-shop below or near to unit
11: Water tank at roof-top

3. It is always an excellent idea to spent some time to scrutinise a prospective sales brochure of our potential buy (purchase).

5. A year ago; many had purchased a premium unit within the development .. and later shocked to learn that the central rubbish chute (for their entire floor) is just next to their main door!

6. Thus the morale of the story is to check first before signing on the dotted line.

7. In general, most developments have these:-

8.1. A central rubbish collection centre / rubbish bin collection point

8.2. Power Sub-station. Every development usually has one or more of these depending on the size of the development.

8.3. Design of club-house roof-lines / trellis / gazebo / pavilion. Are the designs a "threat" e.g. with spikes or like a razor's edge? Usually these are aimed towards lower storeys.

8.4. Any poison arrows in the form of a sharp corner of another block of neighbouring stack aimed towards one's balcony (hard to cure) or towards one's windows (if any)

8.5. Location of areas like BBQ pits and any impact e.g. the smell from these pits towards a unit.. especially low storeys such as #01  or #02 first or second storeys

8.6. Any tree trunk aimed towards a lower unit e.g. #01 or #02. Unfortunately it may be too late; especially if the development is under construction.

9. There are lots more considerations...  

9.1. Do remember "Read in-between" the lines..

Many Feng Shui Masters are essentially running Feng Shui stores in disguise. Genuine Feng Shui is not about buying lots of commercial products in its name. Always ask: “Do I really need to buy this from you?”

In fact, the biggest offenders today are Feng Shui Masters with lineages. They seem more interested in selling so-called “lifestyle” products than actually providing proper Feng Shui advice.
