shall I put all my water/wealth symbols in my hallway to my house?

I read in Lillian Too's books that if one places water symbols inside or
outside of one's house and your are a woman then it is advisale to place
them on the left hand side of the main door looking out.
Recently, I moved Carp painting, my fishtank of three goldfish into my
hallway and placed on the left hand side of my main door. Also outside
my main door (on the left side, I have a small water fountain to usher in
the wealth to my home). My main door faces West (metal) and the left hand
side of my main door is South West. Is this a good thing for me to do or
not.
I have activated my southwest corners in other areas of my house (living
room and bedroom) so I only wanted wealth features in my hallyway.
You see if I place the carp painting and fishtank In either North or
South East then these are on the right side of the main door and I do not
want problems in my relationship. (I've had enough already!).
I read that according to the Flying Stars it is auspicious to place water
in the Southwest until the year 2003?
Please what do you recommend. I am an Earth Boar, East Group 3 and under
the 4 Pillars I am strongest Metal. How does all this work together?

Based on the available information you have provided me, yes, it is
acceptable to place a fishtank and a small water fountain on the left side
of the main entrance.
From what I can understand, I hope that the fishtank is not overall huge or
large. A small water fountain is acceptable. This is because too much water
can cause an imbalance of yin/yang i.e. too much water becomes too `yin' and
as West (metal) is also a yin location, do not use fish tank that e.g.
exceeds 30 percent of the main entrance. I guess this is not possible but if
it is a pond in the house, try not to exceed this percentage.
For those who are not familiar with water feng shui, please take note water
symbolically represents wealth/prosperity. The best is to use a fountain or
for larger premises even a waterfall. Fish tanks are OK .. however, meant
more for curing sha qi but there is little harm in using it in place of a
fountain.
The rationale Lillian Too mentioned not to place water on the right (ie.
when you are standing on the steps of your main entrance and lookig out)
ideally water should not be on the right side of the house. If so, one's
spouse or partner may have `wondering eyes ' or involved in illicit affairs.

As I mentioned earlier, that based on the available information provided, I
can only advise you base on the theory of Eight Aspirations which I
personally feel should come after all other Feng Shui theories.
One important consideration here is, I hope that you are not a person with
`weak fire' element because if so, and counting the number of water
enhancements that you have, you may easily extinguish your `fire' element.
On the other hand if you are a strong fire element person, water would be
good but use it moderately.
Ideally, the carp painting should have eight or nine fishes in it. This is
usually the most auspicious number of fishes for this painting.
I am quite afraid of advising anyone based simply on the Eight Aspirations
theory. In a few earlier messages, I felt that only after one has done other
Feng Shui audits and have the luxury, then may consider using the Eight
Aspirations and this must not `overlap' or superseed other more important
Feng Shui considerations.

Thanks for providing this information. Let's review your element and it's
strength:
1. Being a strong metal person, you need balance by having fire. (As fire
destroys metal).
2. Please note that your house because it is west facing: overall it is
considered a Metal house.
Under such a situation, you will notice that you need fire element in order
for you to balance your strong metal element.
You should avoid earth and metal element which will further strengthen your
strong metal element. Water element fortunately is `produced' by metal and
thus does not affect you that much UNLESS you use too much of it.
So fortunately, the current enhancements can be considered to have `no' or
not much impact on you. In terms of colours you could avoid yellow (earth
element) and white (metal). But white is not as bad because, it is a neutral
colour.
If you are staying alone and there is no impact on others, then for your
room, you could use pink or bedsheet : pink colour. As pink = fire element
which helps to `neutralize' your metal element.

Hope you can let me know who mentioned this. This is because the Flying
Stars can be used generally or very specific to a person. Depending on this,
itl change the interpretation drastically.
Furthermore, other Feng Shui considerations should be considered:-
1. Ideally, water locations are: North (Water element); East (Wood) and
South-East (Wood). This is because water helps wood to grow.
2. South-West: Is the devil's backdoor and the Earth element. A good Feng
Shui practioner will ask a question: How does water `fit' in to the Earth
element. It neither enhances or destroys it.
One answer is that if it does not enhance or destroy the element of the
location, it is considered neutral. So OK to place water there `since it
does not hurt' any thing there.
However, as I mentioned, too much water may cause an imbalance of yin over
yang. And since South-West is the devil's backdoor and considered a YIN
location, I let your imagination take over.
