5-Element Associated Behaviours / Symptoms

Recommended Posts

I understand that it is difficult to achieve true equilibrium of the 5 elements.
Q1. Are there any symptoms or signs or behaviour that could assist us to analyse whether we are in excess of or lacking certain element (besides knowing our true birth element and its strength)? i.e. someone who is very angry has excess Fire; someone who has financial problems is lacking metal (or water), etc.
Q2. I am thinking that whether these elements directly affect compatibility of people. For examples, a couple of both Strong Fire always argue with each other, a person of Weak Earth will get along very well with that of Strong Fire, and etc.
Does that make sense?

I have actually covered this in the Applied Feng Shui course. Briefly, this
`observation' is based on the Yin and Yang theory. For example if you take
salty food.. (which is Yang) you tend to need liquid (Yin). If a person
sufffers a heart attack (Yang) one needs Rest (Yin).
The above is based on the philosophy of Tai Ji.

Yes, this makes sense. You have correctly explained it using the Five
Element Concept which is the basis of Feng Shui and Chinese Astrology.
In many of my Feng Shui audits, I am always `thrilled' by the aspect of
looking at this issue. Not so much under Feng Shui but more to see if this
is `true' in real life cases. Most of the time I found this to be true. For
example, the couples who have element strength and element in `harmony' of
each other, I found that they get along very well. (Most of the time).
There are other cases where it may not be `true'. I believe the reason is
because some couples after many years know each other's characteristics well
and " give and take " in their relationship. Those who are younger may do
just the opposite .. i.e. do not understand each other's characteristics
well and end up e.g. divorce... etc...
One good thing about mapping our `Heaven' luck e.g. using the Pillars of
Destiny is that we can then better understand ourselves or our partners and
work on our relationship. Know each other's strength and weaknessess.
Another method of looking at compatbility is using Chinese Astrology or the
Chinese Zodiac Signs. For those who have not visited my other website: it is
called " http://www.lovesigns.net " There is one section " Compatiblity
with others". It is the Chinese Astrology " equivalent " of looking at
compatibility.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
