Staff Cecil Lee Posted November 25, 2002 Staff Share Posted November 25, 2002 Dear Anon,Some of the major considerations in the placement of an altar are:1. It must not face a dining table. The rationale here is that, it would be considered disrespectful to eat in front of Guan Yin. Imagine the god salivating while one is eating.2. It must not be placed on the same wall as the toilet (especially the toilet bowl).3. Try not to face into a bedroom. This is considered unclean (looking into bedroom[s]/4. Where possible the figurine should not be facing the main door.We do not want to the god to be the security guard.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 11/25/2002 12:06:00 AM, Anonymous wrote:Hi Cecil,Wonder anything need toconsider (location &direction) when placing areligious altars (Guan Yin) ina house?
