Dear Angelina,
Yes, it is very common to find windchimes with varying or different lengths. This is perfectly OK.
Usually, some of them have clinger or the middle coin attached to it - being too heavy to make any sound. (I suspect only a hurricane or a typhoon sized wind may cause it to make a sound. *JOKE*)
The better windchimes are those with alluminium rod with a wooden "roof/support" and a wooden clinger.
