myfs_104854
I'd like to know what factors to consider when choosing a new color for the front door. How does one choose the appropriate color? The discussions I've seen to date are for indivdiuals and I don't know how to interpret the advice to make my own choice.
Staff Cecil Lee Posted July 19, 2004 Staff Share Posted July 19, 2004 Dear Crisa,In my opinion, currently, the most important consideration is not so much of the colour of the door, but rather, are there any threats to this door (main entrance).Since the main entrance is as important as the "mouth" of the house, one has to make sure that it is truly protected. For example, a lone lamp post across the road that seems to slice themain door or a pointed neighbour's roof aimed towards the main door are considered threats to the home, thusaffect our well being. From what I can understand, the most pleasant color of a door is especially if it is in wood tone colors or simply wood varnished orlacquered door. Staff Cecil Lee Posted July 19, 2004 Staff Share Posted July 19, 2004 Further to what I had mentioned earlier, to-date, I personally feel therefore that the color of a main door is not going to make any major difference. This is why, majority of doors are in wood tones or wood tone colors. What is more important is the external shapes and forms as well as Shapes and forms plus other factors other than simply the door color. This includes the number of steps etc...Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 7/19/2004 5:58:13 PM, Anonymous wrote:Dear Crisa,In my opinion, currently, themost important considerationis not so much of the colourof the door, but rather, arethere any threats to this door(main entrance).Since the main entrance is asimportant as the "mouth" ofthe house, one has to makesure that it is trulyprotected. For example, a lone lamp postacross the road that seems toslice themain door or apointed neighbour's roof aimedtowards the main door areconsidered threats to thehome, thusaffect ourwell being. From what I can understand, the most pleasant color of adoor is especially if it is inwood tone colors or simplywood varnishedorlacquered door.Warmest Regards,CecilOn 7/19/2004 5:52:49 PM, Crisa McCartywrote:I'd like to know whatfactorsto consider when choosinganew color for the frontdoor. How does one choosetheappropriate color?Thediscussions I've seen todateare for indivdiuals andIdon't know how to interprettheadvice to make my ownchoice.
