Could you clarify why Orange is associated with the Metal Element?

During the celebration of the Chinese New Year, it is customary for people to bring two oranges when visiting friends or family. In the Cantonese culture, oranges represent wealth and prosperity.

In Cantonese, the term for Orange is pronounced as KUM, which means GOLD.

Oranges are regarded as part of the Metal element by the Hokkien dialect group.

The Hokkien dialect group also refers to oranges as Kim = means Gold.

This is the reason why Orange is linked to the Metal element.
