Dear Ms C,

In the real world, we have two partners that own or share a home e.g. husband and wife.

Thus in the example provided:

1. partner is a weak water person
2. the other partner is a strong metal person

Under the Five elements concept:-

a. A weak water person's best elements are:metal and WATER

b. a Strong metal person's best elements are: WATER, Wood and Fire

The common denominator for both persons (see above) Is? ... WATER element.

Thus for example in the masterbedroom, the pair or partner can apply e.g. a water (blue, black or grey) or have the room painted in blue.

Here, water element helps reduce the strong metal person's element. At the same time, for the weak water person, water element helps him/her.

Hope the above helps to give an example of what is known as the BINDING element of two persons.

For practical reasons, if the home is stayed in by three persons e.g.

1. husband

2. wife

3. son

We can apply the BINDING element of both husband and wife to the living room/dining and their bedroom.

For the son, if there is only one son staying in a room, we can harmonize his ba zi best elements to his personal bedroom. For example, if the son is a WEAK METAL person i.e. since he is a weak metal person (as distinct from a STRONG METAL) person, his best elements or colours are METAL and EARTH.

In his personal bedroom, then, we can apply both Metal (white or gold) or Earth (yellow, cream or beige) -- in general to his bedroom. (Not to complicate things, we have not analaysed the bedroom in relation to the Flying Star Feng Shui.

What happens if the couple above has two sons both staying in this same bedroom. For example, by coincidence, SON 1 is a weak water and SON 2 is a strong metal person, here, from the above earlier example, their best BINDING element for their combined bedroom is = water or blue, black or grey colours.

Warmest Regards,

Cecil
