Dear Hung,

If one applies the Compass School of Feng Shui: Eight House (Ba zai) and/or Flying Star Feng Shui the basis of this School has to do with the magnetic compass and not geographical compass.

Thus, for any home / office /building /site investigated via the Compass School of Feng Shui, a magnetic compass has to be used to determine the magnetic north and other cardinal points etc...

For the purpose of evaluating any site / building or interior, one has to determine the "center-of-gravity" or the centrepoint of say the layout plan of the interior.

the magnetic north, or is

north the side of the area

with the door?

Thus, from the centrepoint; if one wants to know, perhaps, where the kitchen is; and if it happens to be at the east compass direction, then in relation to the layout plan; the kitchen is said to be at the "east" compass direction of the home. On this basis, we try to relate the compass direction e.g. if the living room is in the SW, then we say that the living room is in the South-West direction.

Warmest Regards,
Cecil

By this, I mean within the

different. When dividing an

area into sectors, is north

the magnetic north, or is

north the side of the area

with the door?
