Dear Anon,
The more important consideration as you have mentioned is to try avoid having an `L' shape. It is thus better to `break' down the `L' into two square/rectangle shape.
It does not really matter here if you have to decide what to call the two `halves'. You can call one the main living room and the other any name. It really does not matter.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil

dear cecil,
My living room is L shape. If
I put the screen to make it a
regular shape. Will the
partitioned area still be
considered the living room or
it will be considered separate
area. Thanks.
