Hi Master Cecil I was wondering if you could help me on how to find the centerpoint of my house. I read the instructions on the site but don't really understand the option for finding the center of gravity when there are multiple stories but each floor doesn't really match the perimeter of the floors above it. I live in a three story duplex townhouse which faces NE3 (52.5-67.5) and is period 7 The building itself is a rectangular block but the lower 2 floors are shared with my neighbor: 1st floor - only small foyer and garage belong to me, the majority of the area belongs to my neighbor (outlined with dashes) 2nd floor - living dining kitchen -- a…

Dear Anon, 1. Please goto the conference: Feng Shui Tips and Guidelines. Immediately on the top page of the conference, try to read two articles: Part I Facing direction of a home Part II Facing Direction of a home. 2. More importantly, one need to understand the concept of Flying Star or what is considered as the "mouth" of the house from this article. If so, one can basically apply Flying Star Feng Shui more effectively. 3. And hopefully able to answer your questions, either more convincingly or with conviction. As no two homes are the same nor for apartments - where height or storey /floor can play a difference. Warmest Regards, Cecil Anonymous wrote: Dear Maste…

Dear Anon, In my opinion, it is very difficult to depend on a compass to determine all these stars that you had mentioned. Frankly, if this is the case, a book on " Secrets of Wealth, Relationships Revealed " may come in a paperback. If there is such an authentic book, then, in my opinion, it would be the hottest seller outselling books like the bible. But unfortunately, a holistic approach is a better bet. All of us in our lifetime have taken examinations since young. And we all know that the `clue' here is simply put -- to score maximum marks in the various sections of the paper. Holisic Feng Shui is also like this. And one should take into account the best practises o…

Dear Mary, Frankly, there is no major issue in the installation of finials other than that it / or a wall be built so high that it looks more like a prison. Overall, if your aim is for privacy, the common overlapping wooden / often maintenance free wooden fence is acceptable either in wood tone colours or white. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, In my opinion, this can be quite "tricky". For example, if it involves a major renovation to get the entire basement upgraded, there is a likely chance that your home can change to period 8. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Arthur, 1. In general, a Metal Rat (born say in 1960) is already 43 years old. And a Fire Horse is often 1 year younger. 2. Many years ago, the most common thing is for us to read either Chinese astrology or Western zodiac signs. 3. Many of these readings may create "auto-suggestion". What we read, we may (concious or unconciously) act out the profile. Worse still, the idea of a "self-fulfilling prohercy" 4. Contrary to what one may thing, one has to look at the destructive cycle of the five elements:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-5element.htm In fact, the destructive cycle is about wealth production. 5. For example: Wood gets nurishment from the Ea…

Dear Lotty, Frankly, with the limited information provided, I am not able to assist you. Overall, what you have mentioned should be related to (without analysis using other FS methods), the rooms should firstly try to conform with Shapes and Form FS. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Frankly, I do not use this sort of thing. This is because; often practitioners don't purposely recommend these situations - more of a safety (harzard) factor. We do not want to be liable - if by any chance, it catches fire. So, often, it is `supervised' properly; then it is acceptable. Frankly, I don't see an issue with water used here. I believe, it is more of a practical reason. Since the wax often falls into the water and makes it easier to maintain. It is not like the water `poured' onto the fire to extinguish it. There is a floating medium i.e. the wax that is in-between/intermediary between the two. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi, I happen to check and my kitchen sits in the northwest corner of my home which is my lucky corner as I am a West 7 (female). It is also in the front of the house and opens into the living room. What sort of difficulties can I expect and what can I do to supress the "bad luck". Best regards,RMS

Dear Anon, For "fire-at-heaven's" gate, another remedy is the use of "earth" at the fire-gate-area. For example, earthenware or do add some pottery pieces at the location. Here, under the Five Elements concept: "Earth" element helps to draw or reduce the "Fire" element. Warmest Regards, Cecil Anonymous wrote: Hello -- Just bought my second house with, what I now beleive is fire at heaven's gate. In first apartment, I actually had a feng shui practitioner fail to mention the problem to me before I purchased and before I did renovations-- however, I discovered it when I began doing research on wealth remedies because I couldn't keep or bring in any money in while I was…

It is logical to keep the water bottle closed when not in use. If the bottle is not exposed to heat and is securely closed, it can be stored for an extended period of time. Indications that the water needs to be replaced include bubbles in the water or the bottle shrinking. Therefore, it is similar to a "set it and forget it for a few months" type of situation.

1. If one wants to find out one's career based on Chinese Ba zi, then you need to "include your DD/MM/YYYY. The free report to find your element is here:- http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-element.htm 2. You have find out your element and strength. 3. Under the Five elements concept: the industry known as "accounting" belongs to the metal element. 4. In addition, many of the past messages had covered things like the industry can be e.g. metal element. While the job specification is another consideration. For example, one can be:- in a Metal industry (accounting) but job specification is wood element. Wood element includes skills like co-ordinat…

Dear Anon, 1. The key success in Feng Shui is often " Not practising Feng Shui at all". 2. Frankly, if one analyse Feng Shui carefully, often the key success has much to do with our external environment. Or higher weightage is to placed on our external environment. 3. For example, just three months back, this businessman consulted on his home Feng Shui. And he is in this `metal' parts business for quite sometime. 4. After our home consultation, he asked me whether, should he invite me to look at his business Feng Shui. 5. Here, I asked him how is his business. He said, it is OK. 6. Given this understanding, I mentioned to him that it is not really necessary to do a FS au…

Dear Kem Chong, Please see below:- To `test' whether this is a Sha Qi or poison arrow, try to stand at the main entrance facing out of the house. Is the fire hydrant tangent to your main entrance i.e. slicing the main entrance? If no, then it is not a poison arrow. Especially if it is at one side. Does the storm drain approach your main entrance directly? If not, then this is also not a poison arrow. Perhaps, you can first confirm the above. This should not be an issue especially if (if I read correctly) that both are on different floors. In order to have a direct line, the man entrance should be on the same line of sight as the master bedroom door on the same lev…

These are further considerations: 1. In Traditional Feng Shui; it is not so simple as using a template: Fame; Career; Romance etc... 2. In the attached illustration. One of the concepts include drawing out a Flying Star chart. 3. In this sample illustration: For example: one of the many concepts is to look at the Flying Star numbers. 3.1 Thus; if one is evaluating the SE sector of a home; if you had applied it; water should not be used but fire should be used instead in the sample illustration. 3.2 For your question; as I had mentioned; it is based on whims and fancies; and frankly, better flip a coin: Heads = fire; Tails = water type of clueless "laughing stock" fung s…

Dear Master Lee, Sorry I could not send you the attached pictures. For some reason the site kept crashing on me. I am trying again. I had originally asked about the fire place. If you only see just part of it when you enter the main entrance is it also okay? As for the pic that I am attaching the bathroom is in the middle which is not too good for me. But from the picture if I get this house to face SW, then the master bedroom will be in the East area. Will this still be okay for us or should we get it to face NE then our master bedroom will be in the West area. I just want to know, what is most important that we should look at first. Where the house is facing or how the…

Dear Gek Soo, There are two ways of looking at fire positions: 1. The stove can be considered as a fire protection. Not so much of activating it but rather to see, if it is at a favourable location. 2. Under Flying Star Feng Shui, often, the star numbers at a specific location has to be looked at. And, if there are imbalance in a sector, we can in this way `activate' a "fire element". For example: Period 7 South-East 2 (135 degrees house) East sector has:- mountain star #6 water star #4 base star = 5 Here, Metal 6 destorys wood, wood element is destroyed or weakened by metal. Wood star 4 is inauspicious. However, meal is not sufficient. Here, a FS practitioner may recomen…

These are some considerations:- 1) Must the safe box place in a particlular position or direction ? - It would be "Nice-to" have it placed at an auspicious mountain star e.g. Mountain star #8 or #1 location. 2) Must the safe be hidden in the wardrobe or must be cover up (In term of Feng Shui view) - Commonsense and not Feng Shui 3) Is the safe box consider Metal Element? So is it cannot place near window or toilet? - Whether it is metal element or not : it has no direct association with say a toilet or window. - Commonsense says that it is not advisable to place it near or next to a window. Especially if there are young ones at home. Else if house has no grille(s) or eve…

Dear Anon, Please note that these are general statements. But it does not necessarily mean that it may apply to all units in the vicinity. Your new set of question simply is too general since there are too many variations in Housing board flat layouts and locations. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Please see below:- - In my opinion, in general, it is best if one can not to purchase the house. - Perhaps, you can also ask the existing owner what is the rationale for them selling the unit. 1.What is your view on the effect of the station & the lane and the unit??s overall feng shui and it??s cure? Frankly, it is NOT practical to `cure' such a Yang effect coming from the Fire station. Not practical because, one has to literally close the curtains or close the main door most of the time. 2. Will it benefits a breadwinner of weak earth element perhaps needing more fire? This is to do more with which direction the main door is facing and whether it mat…

Dear Regina, Yes, lighting is a better alternative especially if one is in the room - turn it on. But, if no one is in the room, I strongly feel that it is not necessary to leave it on 24 hours. If no one is in the room try not to draw the night curtain, but let natural light filter into the room, will do. Warmest Regards, Cecil
