I read in the books that we should avoid placing the yin and yang objects in opposite directions or next to each other. Meaning that the refrigerators and water dispensers (yin objects) should not be opposite or next to the stove. Actually, according to what I read, placing them in opposite directions is even more harmful than side-by-side. I have a microwave oven (used rarely, 2-3 times a day) and an electric 5-litre water pot. They are placed next to each other due to space constraint. Does this represent a clash between yang and yin? I am not too sure that the electric water pot is yin or yang. It is used very frequently, because we use a lot of hot water at home. Wa…

Dear Marilyn, Marilyn Tang wrote: Ive been reading on the advises posted on the website. I am worried on the issues that state the bad connection between Monkey and Tiger. Please advise if we could guard against such tension in a marriage. I am Monkey(29/091980) and husband-to-be is Tiger(27/041974).I have visited a FengShui Master some time back but he has not caution us in details. Dear Sophie, sophie corcoran wrote: cecil u have mentioned a 10 day cycle for the different birth elements. Yes, every day has different Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch combination (ie 60 different unique combinations from the 10 Heavenly Stem and 12 Earthly Branch). So since the Heavenly Stem changes in cycle, it will cycle through the 10 different Heavenly Stem. That is why Cecil mentioned that there is 10-day cycle. sophie corcoran wrote: what is today 22nd nov 2005? Dear Vibecke, Vibecke Stensland wrote: We have problems with one of our neighbours. We are located atthe end of a dead end road. Our neighbours are make our life very difficult. We have a big fight with them. What can we do to neutralize this problem. Feng Shui is by no means a miracle cure to all problems, especially not in people to people relationship which is related to Human Luck. In terms of feng shui, areas relating to quarrels/conflict are star 3 in the flying star chart especially near your frontage or main door. If there are any, you can try to reduce it by having Metal to control the sector, or Fire to exhaust the star if there are no Star 2/5. You can use th…

Dear Olivia, Anonymous wrote: What are your thoughts on monthly stars vs yearly stars, etc? The reason I ask is because another website states that for example, in the month of November, if you have a front door or office in the West sector,we should place a dragon or a metal wealth pot to enhance wealth/fame/recognition. Whereas, the #8 star is actuallyin the South sector this year. Can you explain this train of thought? I would questionhere onthe practical application of applying feng shuion a Monthly or even worstDaily application. Do most people really have the time and effort towant to apply monthly or even daily flying star changes? Most people will at most practic…

Dear Oliv, Oliv Sullivan wrote: Oh, my head is spinning! How easy for you and hard for me (with my western brain) to understand. Please bear with me....so - or + does not indicate weak or strong rather yin or yang, correct? If this is so, then how it is determined whether a person is weak or strong whatever? Would it be the over abundance or lack of a particular element in the total ba zi? - is actually for yin, while + is for yang. It has never been associated with weak or strong. Displaying it a the staircase, I feel is better than facing the living room. Just make sure that it is not facing directly the steps. It can be at the "outlines" i.e. side of the staircase. For mansionettes, it can be at the passageway usually between the staircase and the kitchen ....

Hi Cecil My altar of worship( Buddha, Kuang Ti and nine sky goddess) is facing a sliding glass door. This glass door is situated diagonally from my main door. I can see reflections of the deities in the glass door. Distance of the altar to this glass door is about 16 feet. Is this bad fengshui? I am thinking of removing this glass door so that upon entering through the main door, I can see my main hall. Now it is partially blocked by this glass door. Advise please. Thank you Richard Lim

Dear Kit Fong, Kit Fong wrote: Thank for your prompt response. Is the ba zhi and the kua no. the same? They are different concept. Kua (eight house) only assess your YEAR of birth (ie 1950). So it's accuracy is limited. However, though it is simple it's suitability analysis is still very useful. The Kua element will not be as accurate as the Ba Zi element. Ba Zi assess upto day and even time of birth (ie. 19Aug 1950 at7am). So this is more accurate for luck andelement determination. Hope that helps. Kua element or Eight House analysis is based only on YEAR of birth. While ba zi element or Ba Zi (4 Pillars/Pillars of Destiny), calculates from the day, month, year and time of birth (if available). Eight House is typtically useful for it's suitability check, as even though it is simple it has proven time and again to provide a good suitability check assessment. However, we normally do not use the Kua element as the true birth element as only the YEAR of birth was considered. True birth element is usually assse…

Hi, I have a question regarding the main entrance door and the bedroom door. The problem is that the bedroom door is lined directly opposite to the main entrance door. From what i know about Feng Shui, that kind of alignment is not good. So, i really wanted to know how can i improve or change on that? Please advice, thank you.

Dear Robert Lee Goodmorning, After focus our house. I found alot of error need to be corrected. 1. Have use the pre-paid credit flying star wrongly. As housedirection NE1 not SW. 2. Found the main entrance under breadwinner Gua 2 Prosperitylocation but thenbuild partition due of main door diagonallyface the master bedroom and toilet. As NE (main entrance)already brighten the area. Money drain out easily. Should Ibreakdown the partition (build early this year 2005). If I were not to break down the partition as to block the inauspicious location NE (devil's gate) and East line join NE apart of livingroom and office (East is Disaster) but suitable to me(Excellent).Breadwi…

By the way my apartment was completed in year 2000. It is really hard to advise without any layout to view what exactly you mean. However, for any of the odd shapes layout there are usually a few ways to apply feng shui:- 1. ie find the center influence of the entire layout, then treat those missing areas as missing sectors of the house or treat some of the sectors as a protrusion. 2. ie divide the layout into two portions to apply the feng shui. especially for L shaped apartments. You can find some example in…
