We are currently looking at buying a house where the sewerage pipes are located in an enclosed courtyard. Part of this enclosed courtyard is included as part of the house. The courtyard is part of the North West Sector of the house (father area) and has a large tree in the middle of the courtyard area. Adjoining the courtyard is a spare room (in the Mother area) which, if we buy, will be used for meditation and Buddhist practice. The pipes pass under the laundry (into the courtyard) the laundryadjoining the main house on the sourthern side and the adjoining room in the South West. What is the effect of the sewerage pipes in this area? How might the effects be minimized?…

Dear Becky, Becky Miller wrote: In analyzing the house number, which date is more significant: the date the house was first built, or the date in which significant changes to it occurred? Thank you. The year the house was built if it is2004-2023, then no issue as it will be period 8 house. If it is a built in earlier period ie 1984-2003, then you have to determine if there are significant renovations works done. If there are very major renovations done in after 2003, then you should use the period 8. Otherwise, you should leave it as period 7. You should be using the same flying star house built for the house number since they are based on the same analysis. Hope tha…

Dear Carla, Carla Rothacker wrote: Here in America, we often have mobile home parks where the homes are set up on a semi-permanent basis. Some are in the form of a single long home of 14 by 70 feet or 16 by 64 feet, while some are made in 2 pieces and assembled on site as what we call a "doublewide" mobile home. Wheels are removed, and the homes in both cases are supported by construction blocks at key points beneath them, sitting upon concrete. Carla Rothacker wrote: Yes, they *can* be moved, but generally are not. It takes a special moving company to do so, and is expensive. These are different from recreational vehicles, which are small homes on wheels, or small c…

I am unclear whether the direction of the house is more important than the direction of the main door, or the door I use most often. The books I read do not say. I am suspecting the door has more influence, since as a Kan person in a Li house, I should be doing well, but the door I always use is in my unfavorable Southwest corner. I have been sick since childhood, and I wonder if this may be part of the problem. The other door is in the also unfavorable northeast. Does an unfavorable entrance overrule the compatibility I have with my home? Thank you for your time and thoughts. Carla

In my new studio apartment it looks like I'll have to sleep under a loft structure. The loft is about 8 feet high in a space that has 12 foot ceilings. But there would be several beams of the loft overhead while sleeping. What are the best fixes for this? Hang a canopy? Crystal over head?

Dear Master, I recently rented out my condo to an European single expat lady. Then weird things start to happen. The fridge had a mini explosion within 5 days of delivery. The washing machine also broke down within 10 days of delivery. So unlucky!!! I seemed to have the impression that our birthdates/BaZi crash. Could this be possible? What can I do about such things? I mean since I can't possibly throw out my tenant, could I use some fengshui cures?? Thanks. Regards, Sean

Dear Cecil or Robert: Attached is the drawing of my convenience store building. The top building facia is painted Red. The building is painted White. I'm planning to have the lower part of the building covered with bricks (where the '?????' is ). I told my store manager that I'm planning to have the light yellow bricks installed. I was thinking fengshui. Fire (the top red facia) burns metal (the white building) to produce wealth. Earth (the light yellow bricks) will strengthen the metal. That will keep my building, if not prosperous, at least in harmony. My store manger, who isn't into fengshui, prefers the natural red bricks or natural stones. He said the natural r…

Dear Lee Hui, lee hui wrote: I am confused on how to determine the "Green dragon" n "White tiger" direction. Should i determineinside the house or outside the house before i step into the house. pls advise.Thank you. This all depends on which frontage/facing direction you take to evaluate this concept. For example, if you take the living room frontage, then the frontage comes the front where the phoenix should be while the back is the tortise and the East side or Left side of the house should be the Green Dragon while the West side or Right side of the house should be the White Tiger. So the best thing you can do is first determine the frontage, then assign the four sym…

We discovered that our children's bedrooms are in the Death sector. And one of these bedrooms' door is also facing the bathroom door. Is there anything that we can do about it? At least ensure that the child is sleeping in the better direction (this can help offset some of the unsuitability to the room itself) 3. Correct other feng shui issues to reduce any further inauspicio…

Where it is unbalance, you must attempt to balance the sector first. Once you have sufficient balance the flying star sector, then you can work on improving your own individual ba zi luck by choosing the correct colour sheme (as long as it does not adversely affec…

Unfortunately, feng shui is no miracle cure for all problems. There is very little you can enhance in Feng Shui to help expedite a sale of a property. The reason is because the ultimate factor whether a potential buyer will purchase the place, will depend on the location of your home, the ease of transport, the price etc. With a lot of properties available, that means that the buyer has lots of choices to find the best home for him. So under such a situation, there is really very little feng shui can help. You can only make u…
