Some homes are like an unpolished gem. Some enhancement can do wonders to this home. But for some homes, the odds may be stacked against it. As no amount of enhancements can work. Such home often have more problem areas and instead of enhancements, one may have to use more Elastoplast (plaster) to fix up!

Dear Daniel, Tai Sui in the West for example means that you should avoid disturbing him especially for renovations. Having a fish tank there does not affect the Tai Sui in anyway. So don't really think you will need to do anything. Whether or not you should relocate the fish tank depends more on the flying star analysis ie where is the water wealth sector this year for best luck. That I will not be able to advise you here unless an analysis is done. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Doris, To be pretty honest: there is often no right or wrong answers. Nor one camp can ever overwhelm the other to consider exactly what colors fit which elements. For example, it is very straight forward that all the primary colors such as (often those found on the color tv) e.g. Green, Blue and Red. And some also consider Yellow a primary color). From a hot-cold continuum or spectrum, colors would range from the hot end (Red) to the cold end (Blue or white). Grey is interesting. Because silver looks silver to us. But in my country, all our paper notes have a security thread -- threaded into each paper note. Humans when eyeing the notes will certainly see a g…

Dear Sharon, The thing here is that there is no home that is mobile in the past, as such there is no specific feng shui analysis that you can really use for this. In such a mobile home, probably the application of making it comfortable and practical to stay in would be more important. The only few areas you can apply any feng shui concept would then only be either:- 1.To face the entire home in a certain direction when you "park" ie facing north - Prosperity. 2. Or apply the Ba Zi element ie North - Water element, etc. 3. The rest should be more like colour scheme of the interior and exterior should be suitable to you. Otherwise, nothing much else you can do. Ho…

Appended by Robert Lee: Please note that what you are askinggoes beyond the scope of this forum (iea simple advise). In order to give you answers to all your questions will require a full audit to be conducted before answers can be given about the best placement, what enhancments are needed etc. It is best you get someone to do a full consultation so as to help you on this since it is urgent. This will be rather lengthy but I have several issues that need to be addressed. I am moving upstairs in my mother's house. My bedroom faces SE and my computer room faces NW. I need to know the position for my bed and television in my bedroom and the position of my computer in the o…

Dear Pam Landin, Generally, a house with good/excellentshapes and form is often more important than many other analysis. But because the house is your disaster, this may signify that this house isn't the best most suitable house for you. You can counter check this with your ba zi element, ie if you are a weak wood, and this is a North facing house Water, then this house has an element that is favourable to you. Even if the North sector is disaster, this will not be that of a bad. However, if the North is disaster, and ba zi element for that North is also unfavourable, then you should totally avoid this house. As both analysis are telling you that it isn't suitable. O…

Dear Karen, The problem with auspicious and inauspicious number is that there are many many different ways at looking at it. For example, 4 in cantonese sounds like Die, but 4 is used in like 4 leave clover to represent good luck. So auspicious numbers to different people may mean differently. Some people like 4 others hate it. It is really subjective. In terms of feng shui one way of checking if any large number is good or not is to convert it to a single digit. ie 39 = 3+9 = 12 = 1+2 = 3. If 3 is an auspicious gua number for you, then it should be fine. ie 44 = 4+4 = 8. If 8 is an auspicious gua number for you, then it is fine. Or it represents the current flyin…

Dear Cassendra, The important thing about bed placement is that you should try to place the bed in a position if possible as shown in this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-bedroom.htm It is very common when you apply the sleep position that you are both exact opposite (ie what is good for you isn't good for the other). So the only thing you do is to check out the eight house to see which side of the bed you should be sleeping. (ie North side which is closer to the left side of the bed is disaster, while North-East closer to the right side of the bed is health. Then you should opt for the right side of the bed.) This way each of you get to sleep on …

Dear Sze Nee, The problem with suitability issues from analysis such as Eight House is there is no way to correct the problem unless you decide to change to a more suitable direction. Usually, if you are just an employee, there is very little freedom for you to say choose or correct a direction or even avoid using that direction. So the only thing you can possibly do is to try to improve your luck by ensuring that your ba zi elements are improved. ie if you are a weak wood, then say wearing more Water (blue/black/gray) or Wood (green/brown) will help you improve your luck. This can then help to offset the issues about the unsuitability. So basically, what you can do …

Dear Sophia, Often, the colour scheme of the toilet is a non-issue. Based on commonsense approach, it is good to see how well "lit" the toilets are. Many toilets have small ventilation windows and most are quite "dark" either because they are close to the centrepoint or does not have much direct sunlight most of the time. Given this, *commensense* approach that the toilet should preferably have lighter coloured tiles especially if there are elderly in the home. More important considerations is the location of the toilet. In particular, it is best to avoid the centrepoint of the home. As the toilet has the water element and wrong locations may not be favourable for weal…

Dear Doris, There are several dimensions of Feng Shui or degrees of "understanding" what is good or bad Feng Shui. For example: 1. Enhancing Qi Some Feng Shui actions or activities are to enhance qi or to boost qi in a home. For example such as activating #8 under Flying Star Feng Shui. Where especially #8 has to do with the current water wealth location. 2. Neutralising Sha Qi or Poison arrows There are also imbalances caused e.g. by a pointed roof aimed towards our home e.g. a lone street lamp slicing into our main entrance etc... 3. Commonsense approach to Feng Shui Fortunately, from what I can gather, yours has to do with a toilet above the main entrance door…

From what I read, there are two methods1. The Eight Houses Theory (static) 2. The Flying School Theory (corelated with time, dynamic). The second one seems to take precedence over the first, since it's an extension and more complex, more accurate This article might help: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/fst/fst-8h-intro.htm You have to set your priorities and make your choices. In fact, all in life is about choices Best wishes Doris - a Feng Shui reader

Dear Sophia, Please see below:- It is more a concern than reality. Since the fridge is not known to emit any dangerous radiation or microwave. The only concern is with some fridge *touchwood* is the "heat" .... But given that there isasolid wall between the bed-head and the opposite side fridge, there is no issue, here. The worse "senario" is perhaps a neighbour of the same floor level hanging a (railway station, type of wall clock) facing our unit. Symbolically, the Chinese does not like to "give" a clock to others... Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Angie, There are two sides of the coin to this:- 1. Generally, from a hobbist point of view, many things can affect the lifespan of fishes: such as the ph-level, water content, age of goldfish(es). 2. From a Feng Shui point-of-view, often, this is a blessing in disguise: as such deaths often are said to be 'sacrificial' to our own well-being. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Recently my neighbour who is renovating thir house asked my family to help them keep 3 items. A mask, A Violin bow and a purse. The rest of the stuff they actually shifted to another place for storage. I find this very funny.... And would like to know if these items mean anything. The Mask is a Wall mounted type that is black and white and looks quite horrible... The Violin Bow is with out the Violin and we rejected keeping the purse. Anyone have any advice about this?

Dear Adeline, The best approach is breakdown luck into three categories: 1. Heaven Luck (what we are suppose to be born with) 2. Earth Luck (our home /office environment) 3. Human (Man) Luck (our relationship with each other) Commonly known as "the Holy Trinity of Luck". Each type of luck can either help boost or remain unchanged or degenerate depending on specifics. Our home/office (earth luck)usually can make alot of difference in wealth retention. However, for Man Luck, such as a person's ambition or non-ambition, this is difficult to change .. especially one's character. For example, there are many who continue to work for others but can be at a lost or find it…

Dear Chee Kiong, I won't know what theories or concepts other geomancer may have used as such not able to common on their analysis. Some geomancers uses Chinese Astrology, some use I-Ching, some use Ba Zi etc. Even those who use Ba Zi, a simple ba zi analysis can take your Year of Birth element, the more detailed one can take Day of Birth. Also how detail you analyse will also make an impact to what recommendations they will make. As such, so far from my experience, you can go to different geomancers, and there will different analysis results that may come out all depends on how information has been analysed. The only thing I can tell you here is that at Geomancy.net, …
