Dear Anon, For the bedroom, it would be best to avoid any water scenery painting or poster in the bedroom. Otherwise, often, other types of painting or poster has to be looked at individually. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Master, I am rather desperate and hope you can help. I would like to know if it has anything to do with Feng Shui. My son has been sick for almost a year, the cough just won't stop completely. It had never happened before, and besides, he has been abstaining lots of food. Seen lots of doctors still didn't work. Also, my work, health and relationship don't seem to be any good too. I had 2 minor surgeries since I moved in to this flat, and work wise, lots of "xiao ren" back stabbing me. I very much would like to seek a Feng Shui master to help take a look at my flat, but I really can't afford the rate quoted by you. Is there any other way that you can help me? …

Dear Alvin, There are two major considerations, here. Firstly, as you have mentioned: that you are a weak fire person. Therefore, on a hobby level, it is not that advisable to rear fishes given that water can inadvertenly extinguish your weak fire element. However, another major consideration is the "luck" factor of the home. Here, each of us is an individual with our own distinctive date and time of birth. Equally, each home has it's date of birth. Senario ONE 1. The fish tank was placed correctly at the water wealth sector. For example sectors that may have water star #8 (present water wealth location - under Flying star Feng Shui) and sectors like #6 where there …

Dear Anon, To be honest, there is very little information to go on to assess whether it is OK to place the fridge close to the main door entrance. Usually, in a compact kitchen, often a fridge do happen to face a stove. This is especially acceptable if the kitchen is located in the south of the home. It would be best to avoid such a situation i.e. stove face a water position (in the north or if the kitchen is at the north). See if the new location feels more comfortable to both of you or the earlier location. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Hung, If one applies the Compass School of Feng Shui: Eight House (Ba zai) and/or Flying Star Feng Shui the basis of this School has to do with the magnetic compass and not geographical compass. Thus, for any home / office /building /site investigated via the Compass School of Feng Shui, a magnetic compass has to be used to determine the magnetic north and other cardinal points etc... For the purpose of evaluating any site / building or interior, one has to determine the "center-of-gravity" or the centrepoint of say the layout plan of the interior.

Dear Anon, Frankly, in the past most of the "Feng Shui" of a shopping complex is done-up either based on intuition or via Feng Shui advice on the construction i.e. type of external design of say a shopping complex. Here, if a geomacer is tasked the job, he will do an environmental scanning of the surrrounding buildings andadvise on the type of structure. For example, if the neighbourhood is made up of largely of earth buildings or buildings that are squarish or rectangular in shape, a geomancer may advise that the owner build a building is in the form of a wood element e.g. tall structure e.g. like a trunk. For example, for those in Singapore, good examples are: 1. BA…

Dear Master Lee, I just had a quick browse on my house number using your free analysis. The answer I got was "troubled mother". I assume this is referring to me since I own the flat. Also, yes, i am always troubled by my son's issues, health, growth, learning problem etc. In such cases, what is the advice to improve the situation? Or do I have to move house? How to find a lucky house number? Or what can be done? Thank you Regards Tammie

Dear Anon, In my opinon, the best units are at #20 or #23. Units that are facing the highway such as #22, #30 etc... can be quite noisy and parts of their balcony/bedrooms is affected by the afternoon sun especially for higher floors. The unit that you are considering is OK especially for high floors since there is a very auspicious double 8 at the balcony area(facing direction). And in fact, what better scope is that there is aswimming pooljust outside of it. Furthermore, because the unit is South-Northdirection, most of the unit(s)will not be affected by the afternoon sun. Only the very high floo…

Dear Radha, Generally, if the renovations are major (ie replacing roofs / hacking of walls / adding roomsetc), then your house would have moved to 1990s (period 7). Usually for houses that are old, it can be sometime hard to say for sure unless you know what have been done. But most likely for most old houses some major renovations would have taken place, so it is very likely that it would have moved to period 7 (1984-2003). Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Hi Master Lee, Thankyou for replying and providing some logical explaination. I have another question. So,when living inhigh rise building (such as houses in Hong Kong or Singapore) wheremost of the apartments have their doors in theenclosed area, eg 4 unit facing common area with lifts landing and with bedroom windows facing open space / swimming pools; under such environment, does it mean that qi entering the house through the window is much better than through the door? Thanks, Tim

Dear Chee Kiong, Generally, the best way to determine your true birth element is to use Ba Zi day of birth element. 1. There are two ways to determine a ba zi element, the most basic way is to take the year of birth element. So most will take the fact that your Chinese Year is 1959 (Earth Pig), so your element may be considered as Earth element. 2. However, the problem is that even in the entire year ot 1959, there is still different element that a person may be born in depending on the day of birth. So the more accurate way is to consider the day of birth. This is because one can be a Strong water , weak wood born in an Earth Pig year. So the day of birth is more acc…

Dear Master Cecil Lee Thank you very much re my mail dated 10th Nov. My son behaviour had improved as follow up your advice due to his room window directly by the morning or afternoon sun. I have another question, after he was born his name was givenbymy brother-in-law's friend "jin". After a few years my family consulted one of the diety and believe his name "jin" same as his fathername 'kim'. Presently, his name is Lim Choon Jin. His birth element is weak wood. Is there a name suitable for him? Hope you would help us. Awaiting your advice and reply. Thank you in advance. Warmest regards Sophia Chia

Dear Sophia, Generally, for doors, there is no harm to leave it in the natural wood (brown colour). This is considered a neutral colour or element for doors. For a weak Water person ideal colour is either Metal (white/gold)or Water (Blue/Black/Gray). So if you truly want to paint colour then you should choose between the above colours. Whether a house is good or bad, depends a lot on the suitability of the house to the breadwinner as well as the general feng shui of the home. Often most problems are due to major leaks in the external factors of the house itself. So finding and fixing the leaks are essential to improve your overall luck. Knowing what are the leaks will …

Dear Seco, Though Eight House suitability and bed placement are important, but even more important is actually the shapes and form placement of the bed within the bedroom itself. Often, the shapes and form principles will have higher priority than, Eight House. So generally we try to follow this room:- 1. The bedroom sector within the house itself should if possible fall under any of the 4 better eight house sector. 2. Bed placement within the room should first suit the shapes and form, ie a solid wall behind where you can see the door and window. 3. Only if possible under the shapes and form arrangement, such as to place the bed North or East facing, only then can y…

Dear Seco, Plants and flowers in general, no matter whether they are have thorns or not, are geneally good. It is always nice to have some greenery, or nice looking or smelling plants to liven up the place. Anyway, even for thorns are quite small, a few of them will not create a massive sha qi. Thus, it should be no problems to have roses in that area. Furthermore, you already have put up some Metal cures which should be enough to neutralise the sector. Hope that helps. Dear Sharon, Generally, when there are two doors facing each door, it is said that there will be more quarrels between the two occupants. Especially if they are extremely close to each other. In your case a life door, though it isn't a house, but you will have lot of people enter in and out of the lift and if it faces your home, in a non-feng shui point of view there will be some lack of privacy. If the lift is a distance away shouldn't be much of an issue to worry about. Otherwise, best thing you may do is to keep the door close when not entering in and out of the house. Hope that helps. Dear Linda, Generally, a rifle is a form of sha qi. So generally, it isn't advisable to hang a rifle. Even if you wish to display a rifle, it would be better that it is kept inside a glass display where the rifle barrel at least inside the glass display. It will definately make more sense to have a picture or a flower ornament rather than to hang a rifle. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Eli, Yes, I do concur with you that often artificial flowers do really make a place look nice - without the hassle and costs of frequently changing real (dying flowers). In fact, many will agree that artificial flowers especially single colour or multi-coloured ones often uplift us or make us feel good - factor. I believe, many Feng Shui authors also did mentioned that artificial flowers or plants to them are just as good for the "feel-good" factor. Which is very important for many of us. The only bad name about real flowers is where in Singapore, there are those who approach flower shops to purchase a reef of dead flowers to sent to their ex-lovers or ex-husband…

Dear Anon, From your description, looks like the back of your house is instead the "frontage" of it. As under Flying star Feng Shui, what matters is the "mouth" of the house orwhat you have describe best fits the description of the seaview as the frontage. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi Anon, Feng Shui is no miracle cure for all problems. Feng Shui cannot control how much a person wishes to spend or save, this is more of a human factor. You should probably try to say get your husband to do like a financial planning, so that he can see how much he earns and how much he spends. This way he will then realise that he might be spending unnecessarily and start to save more. No amount of feng shui can help you change it. Feng Shui can help you improve the amount of potential wealth, happiness and health but it cannot help you on controlling your wealth. For questions on Health, there may be two possibilities:- 1. From Ba Zi, it seems that you though yo…
