Dear Anon, The clue here is to understand what is: Heaven Luck Earth Luck and most importantly what is Human (Man) Luck In general: 1. In the old, Feng Shui was used to look at locations for a city, town etc... 2. The most used word in the English dictionary are words like: I , me, my etc... 3. Here, we can draw a parallel to many of us. How do we improve our homes. 4. More importantly, the key success of any home is: Location, location and location. 5. Therefore: MACRO Feng Shui is the MOST important factor. 6. Commercial products 6.1 Often, what "corrupts" a Feng Shui practitioner, book author of Feng Shui etc... are commercial products. 6.2 In my opinion, usually, if o…

Dear Wasis, 1. I personally think that a lot more issues should be taken into consideration, first. 2. I have always found the management concept: Situational approach - " It depends ". 3. It happened that, particularly in Singapore, we have a small island and majority lives in high rise buildings. 4. One must understand that as a building goes up (vertical); often, the building is at the `mercy' of the elements. 5. For example, taking my most recent comments on the condo: The Yardley. Some of the units are in a direct compass East-West line. 6. In addition, just imagine that this unit is e.g. at 7 floor/storey. And that there are no other buildings or trees to shade this…

Dear Sandra, Often, this is not a major flaw. To some people, this is a non-issue. However, the simplest method is to use one's personale.g. table cloth or any cloth that is of appropriate length. One simply covers this bookshelf. For example if there are two shelves, for the lower shelf: 1. simply remove all the books from the first shelf. 2. Next, take a piece of cloth: fold it to the appropriate length; use part of it to cover the base of the first shelf. 3. Next, place back the books. Now, with these books on top of this cloth, it acts like a temporary cover for the lower book shelf. Often, the upper bookshelve is much higher and no issue. If one still wants to te…

Dear Anon, It does not matter if it is N-NE, NW-SE. But rather, often, the entrance is at the frontage of the building. And, if often also, open car parks are most conveniently location at the frontage or surrounding / around the perimeter of the building - taking into consideration, the movement in and out of the building. For example, in some larger buildings with only open car park, cars are often parallel parked in a one-way direction. Where vehicles come in at one direction and exit another direction. It also depends on the shape of the plot of land plus the outline of the plot of land. For example, if the front has only room for the entrance, but the back of th…

Dear Anon, Thanks for seeking clarifications on this. Actually, what I was trying to imply has more to do with the Chinese custom known as "ancestor worship". Let me elaborate: Often, when a loved one passed away; especially a parent; a filial eldest son would often have the photo portait blessed with a priest. Some priests even paint over the eyes of this portait for the dead. The above is more for info. It may or may not happen. But, given this idea, it is best not to place this portrait/ancestor tablet facing the main door or dining table or have the back on the same wall as the toilet. Or face into the bedroom. For other pictures; or pictures of rememberance, it is no…

Dear Anon, Look at it this way - Many people do not have the `previlege' of choosing an auspicious date. Let's put it this way: some choose dates is to `play-it-safe'. It should be considered as `nice to have' rather than a must. As mentioned, some people like to `play-it-safe', that's all. I can draw a parallel, to some young couples; looking for Feng Shui advise. They want or hope to engage a Feng Shui practitioner so that, they want to try to see if they can start life or try to start their life or hope to start their life with a `clean state'. In my opinion, therefore, as I had mentioned earlier, selecting good dates is NICE TO HAVE. And not a necessity. The t…

Dear James, Often, because water is good at the frontage of the house because of the concept of `clear space'. If we have water, nothing can be built above it. This is also symbolic of a bird flying freely at the front of the house. For many Feng Shui practitioners, they are worried about `opening' the white tiger's mouth (wrongly). For example, if the water position is at the West (which is the location of the white tiger); it is symbolic of an open (hungry) mouth of the tiger. Where it is ready to pounce and engulf `people'. Often, itmay lead to financial distress. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Most likely, if a Flying Star chart is used in your home, it will often be `littered' with #3 and #4 (all these bad wood is associated with disputes and relationship issues). And many times, one may also see #1 water fueling #3 or #4. These can easily be cured. If you are new, please find out more about Flying Star Feng Shui. Or seek help from any competent Feng Shui practitioner. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Newsgroup Guest, Frankly, if Feng Shui is to be applied, a home has to be Feng Shuied first before such advise is given. Looks like you may have to use your intuition. Or, often, seek opinion of your spouse and even family members as to which colour; everyone like or prefer. In my opinion, the amount of light filtering thru to this long corridor should be taken into consideration. For example, if the long corridor is often `dark', then, it makes more sense to use a lighter coloured overlay carpet or carpet that can bounce off more light. Then dark coloured ones that often absorb light. Another consideration (not Feng Shui)is that unfortunately, light coloured `heavy'…

Dear Sumita, Frankly, there are so many considerations in Feng Shui besides the NE main door. It is difficult for me to put it down in one forum message. The clue here is to: "Try and maximize your marks, in all areas - where you can." Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Wincash, Please see below:- In the second place, it is good that you advise the inexperience practitioner not to practise looking at dates:) Thirdly, even if one wants to stay in an abandon home; the only rationale I could think of are: 1. A fugitive running away from the law 2. Refugees running away from war 3. A movie company making a film and often, we find the heroes running into abandon homes. What do you think? Often, those who haunt `haunted' houses want to chase humans away from their domain (home). So, why would they want to follow the practitioner home? In the past, or quite recently, I had written about evil people who intentionally "breed" bad spi…

Dear Anon, Please see below:- Today, there are still some developers who had folded up. This is not just in Malaysia or in Singapore. A few months back, this developer had uncompleted development and it has become a breeding ground for mosqitoes. Therefore, any land, that has both good or bad Feng Shui, can come down with such a situation. Often, it is sheer `bad luck' which is attributed to the most common situation: downturn in business, leading to cash flow problems for such a developer. Why not, if an experienced FS practitioner finds that the land is OK. A towkay (rich man) may eventually, buy over this land. Hopefully, at a much lower price - due to forced sale…

Hi Anon, Yes. The Auspicious Date for 12 months uses tong shu and ba zi to find suitable dates to an individual. Included in the package is 1 Yearly Report which allows you to generate a yearly auspicious to show you which months are better and which dates in the month are auspicious or inauspicious. The Monthly Report does more in-depth analysis into a particular month. You are given 12 credits to allow you to find generate 12 different months for a single person, or 12 different months for 12 persons. How you use the credit is up to you. All you need is the Name, Gender, Date of birth, optional (Time of Birth), and which the month and year you are generating for. Hope t…

Dear Judy, Under the Five Elements concept:- 1. Other than using colour, shapes is another consideration. 2. Thus, circle symbolises metal element. While rectangle or square represents earth. 3. Generally, white, silver, chrome or gold represents metal element. 4. If one takes a close look at a Chinese Luopan, one will notice that it is made up of an external square (represented by earth) and the inner plate is the Heaven plate. 5. The key to understanding here, is that the Heaven (Metal) plate is the key to our life. The Heaven (Metal) circular plate is akin to Heaven's Qi. The Heaven qi is used to conqueror or neutralise earth imbalances e.g. the square plate. 6. This …

Dear Yew Hui, Please see below:- I strongly believe that Feng Shui is not only just the interior but equally or more important is the external Shapes and Forms. 2. Even if we are looking at the interior,we should also look at the layout plan. For example, safe shapes are layout plans that are rectangular in shape. Look out for the toilet locations etc.. Here, if one wants like to trickle in, a simple day curtain or even using sun-ex films can be used; such as an opaque film. Where possible try to find out what is the rationalefor theprevous owner selling their unit (if possible). Warmest Regards, Cecil Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Glyn, 1. Frankly, based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui it is not advisable to place a bed next to the window(s): 1.1 Often, the window next to where one person sleeps could be closed. Or if open, can bring `drafts' of air to those sleeping close to the window. 1.2 A better Shapes and Form arrangement is as shown under the attachment. 1.3 Here, the bed has a back support and away from the `elements' (window). Since, you had also mentioned that there is no toilet at this location. 1.4 Is the bedroom door at the middle or at the side. This is not a main issue unless one sleeps with the legs facing the bedroom door (in this situation, it is akin to bringing out the coffin…

Dear Lana, In my opinion, it is best that you dispel with "Feng Shui" for the time being. Let me elaborate.... If one is currently facing financial problems; the worst senario is to depend on the `type' of Feng Shui that you are practising. The majority of what you are practising is: the wrong type of Human/Man Luck. I understand many of us want to feel comfort by placing things in our homes, just because we read that it "might work". We can draw a parallel to some people who when faced with difficulties "drown" themselves with food. Placing figurines etc.. does not work! In fact, if we look at it carefully, all the best human luck is/are Free! I often mentioned that we …

Dear Daria, Please see the attachment. I used Smart Draw software to give a simple illustration: 1. Please see a sample `North' marking. It may not be exactly true North. But this is merely a sample. 2. I had placed a True compass direction's grid on the `centre-of-gravity' of the layout plan. This method is known as the True compass `pie-chart' method. Another method is to properly mark out the `zones' for each compass direction. Much like the sample `zone' shown in PURPLE for the North compass direction. Each compass zone can also follow this type of marking or zone. 3. Highlighted in yellow is considered as a missing corner. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Geok Tin, 1. An office environment is different from a home. 2. Unless; one is the CEO or senior positions or do not have a personal room; frankly, there is very little one can do to or next to impossible to change the working desk direction. 3. Nowadays, many office use system furniture and it is next to impossible to tilt or change it's direction. 4. Honestly, you would have to depend more on "Human Luck". Nowadays, I do understand that many of us have `low morale' and tend to worry about things like restructing or retrenchments. 5. However, look at it this way: the more we worry, the more, we get into a vicious cycle of such thoughts. 6. In my opinion, "nervousnes…

Dear Judy, 1. The clue here is to look at the human make-up: "We have our head and feet." 2. One simple example is, when most of us sleep we sleep in a `near' horizontal position. Here, all humans have a head. And our actual head should face the best direction. 3. Our feet should point to the opposite direction. 4. Ambulance Evacuation and the taboo: To give another example: Even for Chinese; who are very sick; recently, I encountered an experienced ambulance attendant who has advised family members of the sick that whenever; an emergency evacuation is made; "head, first". 5. When lying down, often, we want our head to be the `first' to be closer to the auspicioius direct…

dear Anon, 1. Yes, I strongly believe that good authors often state facts. 2. Even if our homes is miles away from the sea; we are literally affected by daily high/low pressures. 3. Even the idea of full moon i.e. our moon is many thousands of mile high; yet, there were documented cases of people's mood affected by the magnetic force of the moon. We can literally see high/low tides based on the moon's gravitational pull. 4. Even the Grand Duke theory is based on the planet Jupiter .. which is said to be the biggest planet and thus have a `magnetic' influence on our planet earth. 5. Thus, one must never, never discount: Macro Feng Shui. 6. Yet, time and time again, we…

Dear Jane, Frankly, looking at most of the messages in this forum, I have this to say: "Gua or Kua is not a cure-all". Often, I find users quoting their Gua numbers and expect miracles to happen. Or totally disappointed that it cannot do much. I have often elaborated to apply the three-step approach: Step 1: What is the PURPOSE of each concept? Step 2: What is it's strengths? Step 3: What is it's weakness? There are two senarios: 1. Either the family has nothing better to do than to complaint or 2. Under Flying Star Feng Shui, most probably; they have #3 or #4 at the main door etc... Here, there is relatively not much one can do `to be placed' at their home. Other than if…

Dear Glyn, Please send my regards to Phil and all your lovely children:) Yeah, I can understand what you mean:) Nowadays, a voice amplifier or *joke* perhaps, do get yourself a CD of the sound of waves. I have seen such CDs around selling in some shops. For sure, do try out those CDs with gentle sea waves. Avoid getting those that sound like the force of a Tsusami wave... swoosh.. erh... which might literally sweep one off one's feet. Do take care! And hope you recover from your sinus! Erh..perhaps? *JOKE* When young.... when you were in your mum's womb; perhaps, your well developed ears felt comfortable, just maybe, she heard that playing sounds was good for you:) An…
