Dear Anon, 1. After reading your past message, looks like your husband is into fish rearing in a "big way" given that there is something like5 fish tanks in your 4 room apartment. 2. In such a situation, you may have to go on a "hobbist approach" vs looking at it from the compass school of Feng Shui e.g. Flying Star Feng Shui, which you perhaps, do not have any knowledge at all. For Flying Star Feng Shui, the best approach is that if you want to find out more, feel free to search further into the topic. As it would not be fair to go into it in this or other message. Since, such topics can easily be found if one - exercise their fingers hard enough. Given that this is a …

Dear Joan, In the Feng Shui point of view, this is considered inasupicious. Especially, if one sleeps "sandwiched" between two concrete columns or beams: In particularit depends on the size of the beams as well as the distance between it from the bed. And also, the shape of the beam. If the beam is squarish or rectangular in shape, there is an added "sha qi" or poison arrow aimed towards the bed. In the case of the wooden cabinet, it would also depend on one's comfort level. For example, whenever you sleep on the bed, do you feel comfortable? Can sleep properly or not. Some of this aspect also has to do with the condition on one's mind.

Dear Vivien, Please see below:- Usually, many FS practitioners consider the frontage as the location where: 1. there is often "clear space". For example, such as often, the car drives up to the front of the home (and /or) 2. There is a noticeable distinction of having a living room at the frontage and where often, the back is much part of the kitchen/ storeroom/backyard / laundry area. 3. Often also, if a home is "back-to-back" with one another, many homes have their back with the back of it's neighbour's home. 4. Please note that the above is not conclusive but rather, it depends on each individual situation. But it should be quite a reasonble guide. 6.…

Dear Rich, In my view, it is generally advisable to refrain from applying the concepts of the Eight Aspirations or Life associations, such as SW equating to the romance sector, etc. Moreover, if the toilet happens to obstruct our romantic endeavors, it signifies a definitive end; we are indeed in a precarious situation! Let us consider an alternative viewpoint. Frequently, the toilet transcends the mere notion of the "THRONE" or the WC, which I refer to as the equivalent of the toilet bowl. In reality, numerous master bathrooms not only feature showers but some even include jacuzzis and bathtubs! Envision this! I firmly believe that in this world,…

Dear Elena, To be truly honest, Feng Shui is not a cure all. In my opinion, this has more to do with man/human relationship issues. And I personally feel other feels have a better success rate in analysing and finding a better solution to your son's problems. For example, things like getting someone who is closer to your son to understand his needs (frustrations) better. For example, teachers or someone your son had often confided etc.. Often, there is also two sides of the coin on this issue and we need to understand, what went "wrong" and how to proceed in a "stable" manner. Or if family members are unable to do so, it is better to seek some professional advise or …

Dear Anon, Frankly, it depends. This is because if one is the boss, than, one can easily face either way and no one can "talk-bad-about" us. For example, in Singapore, a person or the boss who usually has his own personal room, often employs a FS practitioner to best orientate his/her office table. And many staff under him or even the entire company is aware that he/she has engaged a practitioner to look at the best position of office and his specific room arrangement. However, if one does it alone; for example, if the rest of the colleagues face a specific direction, then, it would be best that you (the person) face a smiliar position. Since, facing a different dire…

Dear Peter, 1. Yes, in your situation, Shapes and Forms would often prevail over our best position - based on the Eight House theory. 2. Even if our facing direction is not favourable, it would be worse off to sit with our back against a door. (Especially if the door is frequently used). 3. One can draw a parallel to the "modern" house-hunter. Nowadays, for example, many breadwinners belong to the West house group. And just because, they read that West directions are the most favourable for them. As a result, especially in Singapore, there are many people who continue to buy homes that face west or east-west or have bedrooms at the west. Without realising that the…

Dear Anon, I believe there are two sides of the "coin": 1. Usually, on one side of the coin, even if we are correct, the person who owns the house has a major say or decision. 2. In my opinion, to equate South = fire element is quite a raw analysis. And therefore, should not be relied on totally. 3. Under the Traditional Feng Shui, when painting a room, it is based on two steps: 3.1 Flying Star of that specific sector Under the Flying Star theory, it does not mean that South = fire and fire is at this sector. Contrary to this, it is best to look at the relationships of all three elements : MS # with WS # with Base #. And work out what is the element either absent or…

Dear Elena, Frankly, in the past, many FS practitioners are concerned about corner units - especially units that are "hidden" from view. This was because, perhaps, if the home is in a undeveloped area, it was felt that such a home may be affected by "theft" or thieves climbing into the home. Therefore, the above is based on such a commonsense approach to Feng Shui. But nowadays, with modern survillenance anddeterent, such as survillenance equipment and active or passive safe-guard, this is no longer a major issue. More importantly, under the "Water Classic", it is good to check out that water can flow or be seen to flow into the front of the home. But, behind the home,…

Dear Sir: We found a good house with the swimming pool on the back. The pool does not "overpower" the house and has a "kidney" shape, which is really good. South is the location of the swimming pool. South is the area of Fire. Pool represents the water. I think there is a conflict here. Please, let me know if I can fix it or if I need to look for another house. With respect, Elena.

Hi Anon, What you need to remember here is that we follow Animal signs based on the Chinese Horoscope. This means we based the animal signs on the Chinese Lunar Calanedar. 23 Jan 1974 to 10 Feb 1975 - Tiger 11 Feb 1975 to 30 Jan 1976 - Rabbit This means that if you are born before 10 Feb 1975 you are a Tiger, if you are born after 11 Feb 1975 you are then officially a Rabbit. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Hi Anon, Unfortunately, not all problems or leaks will have a solution, in this case you will not be able to change the location of the toilet or main door entrance. So only thing you can to is to attempt to improve all other areas so as to offset this issue. Remember that Feng Shui is like taking an exam. Failing one question out of 20 will not mean that you will fail badly. Just like Feng Shui one leak will not mean it is a bad house. So in such cases where there is a leak that cannot be fixed, you should then attempt to correct other leaks so as to offset it. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Mr Lee May I ask what happens if the weaken metal (in my case double 7) is in the bedroom (base 3, yr 1), which I cannot possible put a water feature there. What should I do? Can I change bedsheet to blue? Fire can exhaust metal correct? So should I paint the wall pink or put a red rug on the floor? Awaiting your valued advice. Thank You Em free-advice Listmanager wrote: From: "Robert Lee" Dear Hoa Luong, The best water element feature is a water feature like fountain. Greeting Master, I am in great delimas in placing my hubby's 5 fish tanks in our small 4 room flat. I am totally new in FS but am a believer. Hubby intended to make it a 3 tier built-in against the wall on the left hand side(looking out from inside the house) of the house near the entrance. By rising the tanks almost closed up the ceiling and have them place on the left wall is that alright or have we created some misfits?? Your great advise are appreciated. Thank you. Mrs Koh

Dear Anon, In my opinion, this is perfectly alright and no need to check for an auspicious date as yet. This is also because we have not gotten the key as yet - and thus has "no ownership" of it as yet. In the past, many of us, took the opportunity to view our uncompleted homes (many times) and there should not be any issue. This is because in the past, there were very few condos and when the site was quite near completion, one could virtually slip in to take a view especially in the evening when the workers had generally stopped work. A more practical issue is to either borrow a hard-hat or keep away from open space (i.e. falling objects etc..) So go for it! Cheers!…

Dear Emily, In my opinion, instead of going-head-on at looking at ways to neutralise this bad stars, it is good to check (long-term)whether your home can or cannot benefit from "flying" to Period 8. In particular what are the stars in the bedroom. Is it much better in Period 8 or the same? For this room, in particular, try to avoid having too much earth tones or in particular avoid Yellow. Since earth can further fuel metal (#7 x2). Although #3 is not so favourable, but given that metal destroys wood (#3), it is a blessing in disguise. For the bedroom, the best element or colour scheme would be the water element e.g. blue, black or grey. This is the best element, her…

Dear Anooja, Under this current Period 8: 1. Past prosperity sectors are WS:7 and/or MS:7 This is already considered as past prosperity and not worth activating unless there is a double 7 (which in this case, a water position can be used to drown it). 2. Present prosperity sectors are now WS:8 and/or MS:8 If the sector meets the conditions e.g. if there is clear space such as in a living room and if this location has WS:8, then water can be used to activated wealth here. Similiarly check to see if a mountain star can be activated at section with MS:8 3. Future prosperity Since we are under Period 8, we should not forget about #9 since #9 is known as the future pro…

Dear Anooja, For both mountain and water star, one has to look carefully at the sector to see if it can be activated. For MS8, if it is at the north and if there is a wall behind it (not an open window), than the mountain star can be activated here. As opposed to the west. Since you had mentioned that west has a ws8. And ws8, goes with a water position not a mountain position. For example:- MS = 8 This is the current period - mountain star location. In your case, it is at North WS=8 In your case is at West. Or this is the water wealth location. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Basically Feng Shui is about maximising all area. Toilet in Center of the house is one factor in the analysis. Though, this isn't considered the best house to have, but as long as you fix up and improve all other luck areas, you can thus offset this inauspicious influence. Frankly, there is usually no way you can change the room into another room due to the way the pipes are laid. This is especially so for an apartment.Frankly, there is very little cures except to improve other areas of your luck. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee
