Dear Carolyn, 1. Yes, I can truly sympathise with many new proud owners of (small compact) homes. 2. In my opinion, one major culprit has to do with the compulsory need for a Household shelter a.k.a. bomb shelter. This does not sound comforting to some owners. Last year, one client said that since his unit is at the highest floor, and with the launch of bunker busting smart bombs; he felt safer (in an emergency) at his basement car-park than in his apartment! Worse! - If, the intelligence gathering is so lousy - as anyone could claim that he harbours "bin laden". His unit will be the first to "get-it". 3. This is so especially for new two or three room apartments. 4. Sorr…

Dear Nita, Frankly, this issue has more to do with maintenance or upkeep of the furniture (cupboard) than Feng Shui. Often, broken or nearly broken pieces could further fall off or splinter and this may not be safe. For example, pieces could fall off to the floor and one may accidentally step on it. If there is an issue in replacement, then, provided, also "uglyness" is not an issue, than, simple options are to purchase masking tape or scotch-tape to seal the sharp edges and hold the rest of the mirror together. Later on, than, see whether you can take your time to replace it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Florina, Most of us (unfortunately) have to read too many Feng Shui books. Although some books say that a mirror facing a bed is no good, but, often, this may not be exactly true in the REAL WORLD. For example, in the past, I had given this senario: 1. OK. The book says that when we sleep, our spirit is said to wander out of our body. When it sees the mirror, it gets a shock of it's life. 2. But, how about the situation where, this "spirit" needs to "look into" the mirror i.e. comb hair to look nice before, "flying" off? 3. In our real world, it all boils down to "sensitivity". 4. How sensitive are we? 5. For example, many people can sleep soundly with a mirror facin…

Dear Dawn, In my opinion, there should not be any issue with the keeping of pets. This is particularly good for some, especially who have children who had asked for the pets. House cleaning these pets would (hopefully) inculcate a sense of responsibility. However, many mothers reading this may be shaking their heads. I sympathise with them since, most mothers end up being the "maid". Hopefully, please don't turn into an "OLD-MAID" will do! Frankly, under Feng Shui, there is no issue with pets. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Angelina, Yes, it is very common to find windchimes with varying or different lengths. This is perfectly OK. Usually, some of them have clinger or the middle coin attached to it - being too heavy to make any sound. (I suspect only a hurricane or a typhoon sized wind may cause it to make a sound. *JOKE*) The better windchimes are those with alluminium rod with a wooden "roof/support" and a wooden clinger. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Master Lee, I do apologize for the ambiguous way I asked the question, to be specific: North - Family room - Disaster East - 11 year old's b/room - Death SE - Spare b/room - Irritation South - Kitchen - Spook My front door faces the West as I am a in the West House sector as my DOB is 15/08/57, unsure as to the time I was born. I sincerely do appreciate your advice to this predicament. Best wishes, Rory

Dear Mr Cecil, How are you?I hope you are in the pink of health.I have a few questions to ask you regarding the facial moles that i have on my face.I'm feeling miserable lately thinking of whether is it suitable to remove the facial moles on my face.I have one that is just above my left eyebrown. It is beside the no.5 mole and above the no.6 mole.Is it suitable for me to remove it?As you mentioned that mole remover will change a person luck and fortune, but what if a person remove a mole that is a good one? Will it affected our luck and fortune too?Is there any remedy for it?Your kind reply and guidance is most appreciated.Thank you very much..

Dear master, My Kua number is 5. In office, I am sitting facing NE, sitting at the SW corner. But behind me, there is a L-shape corner unit with a poison arrow shooting right behind my back. I thought of hanging a wind chime there but it looks very awkward. But the area is too small for a pot of plant. What shall I do? thanks. carina

Dear Hoa, Usually, what you had mentioned has more to do with selecting a name or changing your name. Often rather than using the above to analyse a sector of a home. Thus, the below is often a glimpse of the outcome of after selecting a name and checking it out:- For example case 1: Five Element(2 Wood, 1 Fire, 0 Earth, 2 Metal, 3 Water) Yin & Yang2 Yin, 6 Yang Name HarmonyMetal-Water-Wood = Inauspicious Tian Di Ren Ge4/5 Auspicious Max Luck is 4/5 due to Surname (Tian Ge) Inauspicious Tian Di Ren Ge DetailsTian-Inauspicious, Di-Auspicious, Ren-Auspicious Wai-Auspicious, Shu-Auspicious Name Luck1/5 Auspicious Name Luck Details1 to 12 - Inauspicious 13 to 24…

Master Lee...Once again I turn to you for your honesty on the subject of feng shui. I've written in the past and respect your advise. My husband and I recently moved into a new home. Of course I've turned to your web site and read on the subject and feel as if our new home is a special place. We just received some gifts from good friends of ours and I'm not sure where to place them, or if there is any significance to them. We received the following items: a red smiling buddah; a small circle which is made of silk and satin, has four hanging cone shaped tassles (which are yellow, blue, green and red)and has a red cord attached; and a gold and red bagua mirror. She listed …

I am a beginner and would appreciate some clarification. We have recently purchased a double-wide manufactured home. It faces the SE. The outside door comes in from the E into the dining area. Directly across from this door is a sliding glass patio door. It is located in the S,(living room) but goes to a screened porch. The porch entry door faces the SE. Please help me determine which door is the proper door to use. Thank you Marie

Dear Anon, Frankly, looks like, in-order to replace the mirror it has to be prised /cracked to reply. Actually, I feel that: 1. Often, the first is based on "Common-sense approach". One reason why, it is not favourable to break the glass is because of splinters or shards of glass. Proper cleaning after the removal is OK. 2. Any since the glass is already chipped, so long as you are not the one removing it, I feel that this is OK. Where possible, or a more practical approach is to let the workmen remove-it while you do not see the activity. 3. Here, you are not the one breaking up the glass. 4. If you have not moved-in, yet, it is better! Do all this before your actual m…

Dear Nisha, It is understandable, when you mentioned that you are only a tenant and would like to have many of your favourite things in your bedroom. Yes, I do encourage you to make first and foremost your room as comfortable with all your favourite things! It does not matter if there are fishes. But, it brings you both pleasure and comfort - GO FOR IT! The logic here is based on this understanding: 1. Often, many good FS practitioners will stick to or advise their clients on the Holy Trinity of Feng Shui: 1.1 Heaven Luck - what is given to us 1.2 Earth Luck - our abode / work place 1.3 Human Luck - what brings us happiness:) Sometimes, for some, we have limited earth luc…

Dear Leon, What you refer to is actually sometimes known as the "Eight-One Combinations". The explanation is that 81 Combinations are fixed detailed description of different combinations as the numbers of the stars comes together. It provides short explanation of the combination effects. For example: MS [8] & WS[6] means Prosperity, good wealth. Geomancy.net Flying star course students, do get a table showing all the meaning of the 81 combinations i.e. 1 with 2 2 with 3 etc.. to 9 with 9 Alternatively, perhaps some authors may have such a table for you. Currently I am very busy, as several new condominiums have TOP such as Gardens @ Bishan and the Maderia and …

Dear Anon, Frankly, this category of Feng Shui is often classified under "Kindergarten Feng Shui". Where we commonly hear: North = water, South = fire etc.. Just a few years ago, I remembered, locally some practitioners were simply practising this type of Feng Shui. Many of them, I heard, have very few business - if any. With more sophisticated consumers; it would be more fruitful to learn more of both Shapes and Forms as well as Compass School Feng Shui. Under Flying Star, instead of a generalised view that north = water, one should follow where the #1 star lands on the 9 grid system. Here, #1 and a combination of it e.g. #4 often leads to prosperity etc... Truly, do mak…

Dear Joey, This is a very good question. Since you encountered such a situation, it is best to: 1. Often, this building does not stand-alone. 2. Do look around at other buildings on the same "row". And where their "main entrance" are located. 3. If it is a shopping complex, usually, there is a "major" entry or lobby vs a smaller side lobby. 4. Check for sun-light/shadow flow. Which facing is blocked by other buildings? 5. Is the building close to the sea? If so, often, we should look closely at the facing towards the sea. 6. At the entrance area, check to see which lobby looks bright (natural brightness). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Patrick, It is good if you can provide a sketch - to take a look. This is because, if you managed to go thru past resources on this forum, you can see examples of homes at culdesac that are good or bad depending on where the home(s) are situated. Warmest Regards, Cecil The Kindly Many thanks! -Pat

Dear Val, Understand that there will be a confusion. In fact, quite recently, there is an earlier forum message seeking clarification of Gua 5 (Kua 5). Please do a SEARCH for the above. The rationale is because when the calculation "hits" Gua 5, it is re-directed to the correct Gua / Kua based on male or female. By-the-way (BTW), therefore " Gua 5 " is actually the centre Gua. And since there are only eight sectors, there is no such thing as an actual centre Gua / Kua 5. Please go to the earlier message and you can find out more. Warmest Regards, Cecil Much

dear Jen, 1. If there is no boundary and the entire piece of land seamlessly looks like merging with the entire area, than, this is far better off! Than, purposely demarcating boundary. Where, it will clearly show as a truly odd shaped piece of land. 2. Generally, we should not be too fearful of odd shaped piece of land. Unless often it affects the drainage of the land. 3. Overall, after reading your note, I do feel sad, not because of your land but the fact that I live in a country that not only must one have a fence but it has to be relatively high or prevent unauthorised people coming into it. 4. In Asia, and especially in Singapore the norm for a landed property home…

Dear Fiona, Yes, I do agree with your analysis. Under Period 8, if your home has a SE 2 Flying star chart; it is not really a fantastic chart since only the front and back have good numbers. Otherwise, as you had mentioned, majority of the other sectors under SE 2 (P8) needs attention. Therefore, it is like a double edged sword, if the home were to fly to Period 8. No, although there is the pearl string, but you still need to place a cure for star #7 especially at the frontage. However, once this is neutralised; this is fair game:) Do use the alternative door, you mentioned. Warmest Regards, Cecil
