Dear Felicity, 1. Generally, FS is holistic and maximum benefits is derived when we try to increase a large percentage of our `luck'. 2. FS is only a portion of the large pool of luck. Where FS is on earth luck. Usually, few are fortunate to get a quantum leap in such earth luck unless, everthing or majority of thins is `done right'. 3. But it does not beat a quantum leap in a home where, the house can "create" wealth. These excellent houses are rare. 4. If we do not have such luck (quantum luck) we can only try to:- Neutlise Sha Qi (or poison arrows) and enhance beneifical Qi (which is much lesser than the quantum leap) but it is a start. (Neutralising Sha Qi is to lo…

Hi, Generally, for studies usually what affects you is the location of your study location in the house and also your own "likes" and "dislikes" for certain subject. 1. Often when most people have problems concentrating or doing work, it is usually because you stay in location or working in a direction which is unsuitable for you. This is usually the case. Example you are trying to study in a room which is your five ghost or irritation. Generally, you will not feel very comfortable there. Use the Eight House report to help you determine that. 2. If the Eight House shows a good room for you to study in, then the other reason is the room itself, it may contain bad stars w…

Dear Lily, Lily Loh wrote: May I know Orange colour belongs to the Fire element or is it considered gold - metal element? Orange is by default classified more as Earth element. Very dark Orange can sometimes look like Brown so Wood element. While Very light Orange which resembles Gold can be Metal. So depends on the tone in the colour. Dear Veraa, 1. In my opinion, it is not adviseable to place any objects (if possible) at the centre-point area of the home especially if it is a fish tank. 2. In your case, it would not be auspicious to see three shadows of knives as (in my opinion) it represents Sha Qi. 3. As for the effect of the three containers, if it is already placed there, you should monitor the situation closely especially for the next month to three months (as the effect would be felt if any during this time). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi, under the Eight House Theory, Interpreting the 'Intangible Force', it is mentioned that we overlay the Kua template of the houseowner onto the house plan according to the direction of the house. I am ratherconfused as it should be the'type' of house accordingto thedirection of the main door. So the eight directions will be at different location then. Canyou clarify?

Dear Anon, In my opinion, there should not be an issue here. Usually, it would not be good the "opposite way" i.e. to have the master bedroom below a far worse situation i.e. a toilet bowl directly above, say the master bedroom bed. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Daranee, Frankly, it is perfectly ok since if one look at a it from a proper perspective, it does wonders for human or man factors. Although, the text book case of this situation being inappropriate under earth luck, but if it truely comforts your parent. Then this is perfectly fine. In fact, human or man luck factors often overrights any earth luck factors or feng shui. Therefore, do let your father have his way since it truely brings him comfort for the time being. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Oliv, Please see below:- 2. It is equally nice-to-have the stove not at the NW sector of the kitchen -- if possible. 3. The first point is like "must-try-not-to". While the second point (para 2) above is like "nice-not-to-have it" at that position. While a sink (with a tap) and dish washer etc... contain or have water. Thus = water element. Thus it is best not to have opposing forces facing it directly - clashing with the stove. The washing machine and sink can be on the opposite wall -- is ok so long as they are not in direct-line "facing each other". This is OK. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1 Considering the various forms of luck; ba zi is only 1/3 out of the Holy Trinity of luck. 2. Where ba zi is only about born with; and itis just a snapshot of when we were born. There are several escape clauses to it: education, influence from family, friends etc.. 3. For the home, it is still very riskly to consider just onhomes with earth directions, as there are many many more influences on a home.

Dear Veronique, 1. Although, further investigations may be required e.g. such as looking at the birth chart using say Flying Star. 2. However, under Shapes and Form Feng Shui observation, a good colour would be white or off-white or shades of white. Which represents the metal element. Try to avoid pink/purple or red or shades of this colour. 3. If blue colour is ever used here -- this has carefully evaluated especially under Para 1. Blue can go both ways - i.e. it can either be used to " create " wealth or alternatively be a double edged sword i.e. like hot and cold (blue vs red). Much investigation may be required if this colour is used. 4. Alternative colours can be us…

Dear Serene, It would be best to tie a red string with the 6 coinst tied together. This is preferred if one is using 6 coins. The rationale is because fire element (red) can help to bind or control metal element (especially if it consists of 6 metal or big metal element). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Eileen, A warm welcome to the forum! The key issue for a home at the end of a cul de sac is: protect, protect & protect! If you can draw a simple (to scale sketch) of your location plan and surrounding i.e. nearby houses and the back of the home. It would be good as I can have a better picture of your home as it is difficult to give advise based on the description. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Slawek, 1. Usually, a more acurate analysis is to use the Flying Star analysis. 2. Based on Flying Star numerology, do look out for #2 sickness and #5 misfortune nos. 3. It is my belief that the South sector has an imbalance and it could also be the result of bad wood #3 and the addition of water element i.e. fish tank that could create such an imbalance. 4. To sound `less complicated'; since your family members are now sick; it is best to drain off the water or remove the fish tank as soon as possible. Certainly, there is indeed an imbalance at that sector. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Monique, Although the octagonal window does not pose a `threat' i.e. poison arrow; most probably, there is an element of `superstition'. Perhaps your neighbour felt that now, the bathroom `became' obvious and to them, it could be that it is thus considered inauspicious to have their door distinctly `facing' the bathroom. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Thank you for your time. I am selling a home in California, the front door does not face the street, this seems like a benefit is that correct? If so how can I use this to my advantage in marketing my property? Frankly, as long as there is no road cutting towards the house or curving into the house then there is no sha qi towards the house. Therefore, there should not be any major sha qi from that point. But this is a very common feng shui benefit. Therefore, if you do want to use feng shui in your marketing of your property, you should be wanting to list it's major or uniquefeng shui benefit rather than to list all the minor benefit. Hope …

Dear Guest, 1. No, one need not have to get a divorce:) In such a situation. 2. This is because, statistically, 50 percent of married couples, would either fall under: Both same or Both different. And, this would be a lame excuse indeed to seek a divorce. 3. The key to understanding Feng Shui concepts or any other disciplines is to use a three-step-approach. 4. Step 1 : What is the purpose of this concept? Step 2 : What are it's strengths? Step 3 : What are it's weakness? 5. In fact, there are already, much documentation in this forum on the purpose, strength and weakness of this concept. 6. Hope you can do some home-work by using your fingers to type it into the SEARCH …

Dear Ling Ling, Please see below:- Often if no screen or partition is used, simply closing that particular window is ok. But if the window is left open, then a blind could be "poor alternative". Avoid bright yellow or cream or beige especially in the bedroom or bright red or pink in the master bedroom. This could be the colour of the walls or curtains or bedsheet.

Dear Hoa, 2. Toilet is also the one major water leak in the home. Thus, it is why when a toilet for example is located in the center of the house, it considered a major wealth leak. So because a toilet location is deemed as least beneficial, it is often good when bad stars fall in a toilet location. It will help to dispell such bad influence. Just like other less important uses for rooms such as storeroom etc. Since you don't use it that much, if bad stars falls in such rooms, it will not harm the people there as no one lives there. As such, if you image if there the sector is good but it is located at the toilet influence, how much wealth can you expect to get? …

Dear MD, Based on your unit, you should find the centrepoint of the unit. And from this centrepoint (standing at the centrepoint) use a compass to `aim' at the main entrance. Please follow the method used here:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilcompass.htm The above should help you to properly determine whether it is Chen or Kan. Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. for the mechanics of how to? you can visit this url: http://www.geomancy

Dear Ken, 1. Yes, since you feel uncomfortable, it is best to remove it as soon as possible. 2. Other information: 2.1 Often, since a bedroom is (more for rest), it is overall considered a yin location. And it would be better that bedroom lights should be balanced with more yang. 2.1.1 Yang is represented by 1, 3, 5 and 7 or odd numbers. 2.1.2 Thus since a bedroom is more yin, it would be better at the ceiling to use lights either 1 e.g. circular at the centre of the room or if one has cornice: lights as 3, 5 or 7. Often in an average Housing Board (public housing flat) 7 lights is already quite adequate. 3. Often, a crystal set of lights is more favoured in a living room…

Dear Vijay, I recommend that you take a three step approach: 1. What is the purpose of each concept? 2. What is it's strengths? 3. What is it's weakness? If the above is clearly understood, there is no issue in understanding what is 8 directions/Eight House vs Pillars of destiny (Ba Zi). There are already lots of replies to such related questions. Please do a SEARCH and try to figure out the above:) Warmest Regards, Cecil
