Dear Kelvin, Flying Star can be applied to as large as a plot of land, or as small as an apartment or a bedroom. So where you decide to take the facing direction or main door will determine how the flying star chart influence is for. 1. If you are doing a feng shui evaluation for the entire plot of land at Haig Court, then you take the entrance of the plot of land. 2. If you are doing a feng shui evalution for the entire block, then you take the facing of the entire block. 3. If you are doing a feng shui evalution for your own apartment, then you either take:- 3a. The main door of your apartment especially if lower level (ie less than 10 floors). 3b. The facing fro…

Dear Anon, For motor homes, usually, we can only take advantage of its location viz-a-viz the area it is in. It should not be parked in locations where, it is in direct `force' of wind e.g. barren land where, wind blows directly towards it. It is really difficult to apply many of the concepts of Feng Shui to the motor home. In my opinion, more can be gotten from Pillars of Destiny or improvement to personal self here. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Ashwini, To be honest, often, Shapes and Forms Feng Shui prevail over other forms of Feng Shui e.g. Flying Star etc... Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Sue, Please see below:- Yes, the extra utility room should be included. Under Flying Star Feng Shui, if you house was built prior to 1984, and with this extra utiltiy room built after 1984 and renovations done at the exterior facade, the birth chart of your 3i flat should now be changed to Period 7 (1984 onwards). The above is for info, if you are using Flying Star Feng Shui. Based on Eight House Feng Shui, there is not much one can change the above base on this concept. One the house has been purchased, nothing can change this aspect of Eight House theory. This theory can tell how suitable a house is to the owners but it has its limitations. Usually, it is …

Dear Anon, 1. For a threat towards the interior of the home: If one looks out of the window, one should not see a lone tree slicing thru the window. If so, a simple day curtain to screen or a blind would be useful. 2. Yin and Yang concept: Often, a large tree is not advisable especially if it has lots of branches and leaves. The rationale here is that, because of the tree, what is underneath the tree becomes `dark' i.e. no sunlight penetrate thru. And it is because of this; that we consider the location or area `yin'. Too yin, or darked area, is not really too good. 3. Often, it is said that spirits (or for those who believe in spirits); a spirit may harbour or hide ins…

Dear Jennifer, 1. In my opinion, what you had mentioned dwell more on "commonsense approach" than purely on Feng Shui. 2. Usually, the rationale why a bedroom above a garage was considered inauspicious is much like the idea that it is inauspicious to have a bedroom above the kitchen. 3. For the kitchen; it was felt that the incidence or probability of a fire occuring in a kitchen is much higher than, say in other rooms. Thus the concern. 4. It is similar for the garage. Some people feel that if the garage is cluttered and at the same time, there is a `higher' probability of a fire occuring in the garage e.g. a vehicle (may one fine day catch fire?) 5. But look at it reali…

Dear Weiqi, Shapes and Forms Feng Shui:- Yes, if possible, it is best to avoid having a water position at the centrepoint of the home - as this may affect one's finance. (Shapes and Forms consideration. Flying Star Feng Shui:- This is especially so for Period 8 homes or homes born, or had a major renovation done on or after 2004. Under Flying star Feng Shui, the base star at the centre-of-the-home is #8. And since this is an auspicious mountain star "earth" element: a water position, here will inevitably drown the auspicious #8 for the period. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Tim, In my opinion, Shapes and Form as mentioned by you below cannot cure "unwanted" stars. Since this concept is static and does not take into account time dimensions as the Flying Star Feng Shui. The only correlation is that often, under some Flying star models, it is preferred that the layout or rooms are squarish in shape. Here, it is like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Jon, 3. Singapore is so small. And generally, geographically although it may seem that there is a North / South / NE, Central / West region, but ultimately, Singapore is considered as "south" e.g. south of the Malayan peninsula. 4. If we go by the Eight House theory, and if we separate people into two groups: East and West, sometimes we get "weird" questions like, since I belong to the west group, I should live in the west. 5. Perhaps, this could be used as a silly reason for getting a divorce from a wife that is East group while we are a West group. It does not make sense at all. 6. More importantly, we read Shapes and Forms concept like the office should …

Dear Amy, No, removing the trees (external) does not change the Flying star qi. However, this year, the Grand Duke of Jupiter is at compass degree SSW. And removing the tree(s) at SW may not be a responsible thing to do. Given that one should not distrub the Grand Duke at his present location. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Rich, For apartment above high floor, it is common that you should take the frontage of your home based on where most light comes into the house. This is often the living room balcony. So stand at your balcony and measure the compass direction and whatever that results. That is where your house frontage will be. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Carlos, Please see below:- In my opinion, in your case, it is best to First-fix-the leak! What you had described i.e. your bedroom falling between NE and E with potent inauspicious combinatins of NE = M5 W9 and E = M5 W9 B5 Are very inauspicious combinations. Where 5 is already bad but fueling it with W9 is equally bad. As mentioned in a similar reply to this type of question, today (forum message): Try to: 1. Avoid using particularly YELLOW (earth) and / or FIRE (Red, pink or purple) within this room. 2. If need to use constant metal e.g. outside the bedroom window with a wind chime or other constant metal or even a glass jar filled with salt /six coins - please…

Dear Cindy, Frankly, I hope u don't mind me saying; but it would be better for you to get expert help instead of grasping with so many "puzzles." Often, the major consideration is to check the layout plan of the home to see if it is better (or not) to fly to the new period. For example, for a Period 7 SW 2 apartment, the current prosperity water star is located at South compass direction while the mountain star is located at West. While under Period 8, the water wealth location flies to the NE sector. And the mountain star remains at SW sector.Does this match your layout plan i.e. is your living room at NE? or as a result of flying to P8,the water star 8 could be dro…

I am allocated a seatthat is directly below a ceiling beam. I believe that this is not a desirable position. All work stations are arranged in four straight rows with two rows facing each other, and the othe two facing the windows on the right and left walls of the room.Mine is the first from the main entrancein the second row, facing the third row (next to the main entrance). What can be done to improve the situation, please.

Dear Peck Wun, Please see below:- In matter what, your home is still a Period 7 apartment. Period 7 spans between 1984 to 2003. Therefore, even if there are several renovations or major renovations done e.g. in 2001, 2002 or even this year; your apartment will still be a Period 7 apartment/house. Where possible try not to do any work at South South-Weat or 210 degrees. If this is at true compass direction South-West, then it is still ok. If you have a compass, try to locate the centerpoint of your home. Stand there and confirm that the location is not South South-West 210 degrees. No, this is minor and no issue. Unless, you need to remove the aircon unit moun…

Dear Peck Wun, If the figurine looks ambigious, it is best to cover it first, especially if it is an old furniture. Overall, if the figurine is not facing directly towards the bed but facing outwards, there is, in my opinion, not a real concern. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Andrew, 1. Five metres is in a very close proximity. 2. Yes, currently I believe, from your second floor, there is an obstructed view or clear space. 3. But if a new condominium development, perhpas, you may not have clear space (at your frontage anymore). 4. However, you mentioned that there is suppose to be a water position at the front (after the development). If this is the case, then, you should usually have clear space. 5. What type of water fountain will there be? If it is a circular fountain, you can still benefit from it. But if it is a wall-type of fountain where the wall is facing you and water falls into this wall, then, this type of fountain may not be…

Dear Anon, To be truly honest, unfortunately, there is no specific "cure" under Feng Shui. Wishing you all the best! Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: My condo has been on the market for 5 months now. So far there has been no offers due to the fact that my condo is next to a train. How can I attract a buyer to want to purchase?

Dear Anon, Usually, when the year the house was built is in question, we normally use two different period house which we suspect the house to be built and then do a comparison to see which is more likely to be thechart that is present in your home. If you can tell for sure when you had any major renovation done, then you can be pretty sure which chart influence is still present for your home. Period 6 (1964-1983) while Period 7 (1984-2003). Now we are in Period 8 (2004-2023). Generally, if you had any major renovation done in period 7, then it is very likely that your house belong to the period 7, else it will still remain as a period 6 chart. So unless there was a m…

Dear Anon, In my opinion, this is perfectly alright and no need to check for an auspicious date as yet. This is also because we have not gotten the key as yet - and thus has "no ownership" of it as yet. In the past, many of us, took the opportunity to view our uncompleted homes (many times) and there should not be any issue. This is because in the past, there were very few condos and when the site was quite near completion, one could virtually slip in to take a view especially in the evening when the workers had generally stopped work. A more practical issue is to either borrow a hard-hat or keep away from open space (i.e. falling objects etc..) So go for it! Cheers!…

Dear Anthony, Based on your description, in my opinion: No or there is no issue here. Unless, the furniture was fixed or built against the wall and such furniture may require some force or hacking to remove them. Otherwise, it is OK. Warmest Regards, Cecil
