1. Ideally, in Feng Shui, it is best not to have blue-roof for buildings. 2. As a blue roof in the I-ching represents difficulties. Thus it is best not to have a blue roof i.e. nice-not-to have instead of must-not-have situation.

The morale of the story is that the rich gets richer, by investing in time and effort to secure (expert) help in finding a good home. The poor as usual, gets into a cycle of poverty: Imagine buying a home equivalent to a ten year old car. No matter how much effort is done (later) to improve their home, the Feng Shui of the home cannot turn it into a "gem" of a car! If one bought a run-down toyota, how to turn it into a lovely 7 series BMW? Again, it is like a family of 8 buying a home equivalent of a small Chinese cherry car! How to fit 8 persons in the car! No way! Have to purchase a car the equivalent of an MPV!

1. What you had described is very similar to the development known as The Meyer Place. This is the link to it:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=19&mid=5532&new= 2. In all developments, there are often excellent units, good units and inauspicious units. This depends on which floor, what is the external influence of that particular development. Thus no two homes in a same development is similar. 3. In the above example, the unit " achieves " a quantum leap in Feng Shui by "sucking" wealth from the duplex bungalow - directly within it's development. This bungalow formerly belongs to a wealthy merchant : Tan Lark Sye. 4. Location, loc…

HDB Bedok Central Blocks: 219A-D, 220A-C, 221A-C Another rare cluster of HDB flats in the Bedok Central mature estate. These flats were built on a vast area of ground level carparks converted into apartment blocks cum car-parks. TOP was sometime late last year: 2008. This plot of land is very close to all the amenties in Bedok Central including supermarkets, markets, swimming pool, MRT line runs along the main road. (One of the picture has the mrt line ...)

1. As mentioned, in my earlier comments, those units circled in pink, should have NO problem even with the toilet bowl. Such units should be able to easily "weather" the "leak". 2. Yes, the additional WC can easily be removed. And one can apply for a one time check so that one no longer pays the conservancy charge for the extra WC. In terms of the Feng Shui, it is a better choice not to have this additional WC (if it is not fully needed). 3. For a partition, these are some common guidelines:- 3.1. Avoid placing shoes in the partition cabinet. 3.2 Avoid circular designs for the partition 3.3 Avoid placing a reflective glass facing the main door 3.4 A partition should if…

This article shares light into the value of investing in a HDB apartment that is especially close to both MRT and amenities. Due to the government's relaxation of rules for renting out an entire HDB apartments, some have asked their parents to move-in with them. And have rented out their parent's HDB apartment especially in areas like Holland Village, Queenstown etc... HDB apartments does not costs that much as compared to a condo, yet, some can sometimes yield higher or equavalent rentals to such condos.... The following developments are handed over for those who can take over the units before the Chinese 7th month, this year:- 1. Changi Rise Condo (Just TOP a few weeks ago) 2. Goldenhill Park Condo (TOP a few months ago) 3. Goldenhill Villas (Just TOP, this week) 4. Amaranda Gardens (TOP a few months ago) 5. Springside Walk Villas Others: Looks like Nuovo EC is ready but, TOP is just a stone-throw away! In my opinion, this EC took quite sometime. But in my opinion, in long term, because of it's proximity to the MRT and Yio Chu Kang market plus schools, a very good buy for first time home owners. Congratulations on new home owners! who are collecting their keys. BTW…

Dear All, In my opinion, Housing Development Board (HDB) Executive Apartments similar to Executive Units 44 and Unit 56 is "inauspicious". If one looks carefully in the illustration, the edge of the master bedroom toilet (external wall) of Executive Unit 48 is aimed at the frontage area of Unit 44. While Executive unit 52's external wall is aimed at the frontage of Unit 56. Warmest Regards, Cecil Although it is not directly aimed at the main door, it the bulk of the flow is concentrated within the main door area. It will affect the main door since the `cutting' sha qi is wide and "penetrating". Erh.. good luck to those staying at Unit 44 or Unit 56 of Block 502A (12 store…

ARE YOU PAYING MORE THAN WHAT YOU SHOULD FOR THAT PROPERTY? IS IT THE RIGHT TIME TO BUY? Another good tool to guage property prices is by looking at the Property Price Index. For example, if one had purchased a private property between 1998 and 1999; this was one of the best times to do so. As the private property price is lowest for quite sometime close to the 100 percent mark. If one looks at the graph, 2001 and 2002 seems quite good since for 4th quarter 02, it went to one of the lowest at 115.1 percent. In my opinion, perhaps if more and more condos are built, we could find the private property prices fall to as low as the 60 percentile mark as in 1983/1984 or lo…

Dear All, Another good indicator when house-hunting (especially for more afforadable 99 year lease) apartments is to take note of: 1. "Unsold" units in a development that had already obtained TOP for more than 1 year and yet no take up for "choice units" as found under this relatively new developer's developments:- http://www.ntuc-choicehomes.com/available.htm Here, they have listed three `not so' hot selling properties especially Tropical Springs and Rivervale Crest:- 1. Tropical Springs It should have been a good sell considering that it is in walking distance of the Simei MRT station. But, yet choice units remained unsold. 2. Rivervale Crest I had…

Dear Koh, I believe that many of the readers in this forum are adults or at least adults. I have to apologise first, if you are not. This is because, what I am going to say may not appeal to the young. This is because, although it is right to say that Jade (or an object of jade is considered priceless) but; many are not aware of the "bad mouth" associated with Jade. If you are too young to read this... please close this message immediately.... STOP... Here goes... Perhaps Geylang will always be a red light district is because of it's association with Jade. Although many of us think that Jade is priceless, but if one research further it has SEXUAL connotations. Jade which…

Dear Kohsy, Yes, at the moment, because Geylang is a red light district. And, in my opinion, it looks like this red light district is going to stay for sometime. I believe that, in the next 10 to 15 years at least, this red light district will still be around - geylang. It is not like the government can simply relocate it to e.g. Pulau Ubi etc... Yes, and because of this reasoning; and in a recent documentary, some residents (females) who stay in condos in geylang were asked for such services. As a parent, we are already concerned about our children's education. We do not want to have additional concerns about their `safety' right at our door steps. Many of us cannot affo…

Dear All, 1. Often, when a developer borrows financing from a bank to fund a condominium project; the bank does it's own calculations for each unit to be sold by the developer. 2. In fact, the banker will normally calculate out the cost of bidding/tender for the site and advises the developer; what is the mininum selling price for each unit. 3. To safe-guard the bank, often, the bank will require the developer to maintain the minimium price - so that the bank will not make a loss on the funding. 4. Sometimes, if one is fast enough; one can seek out bargains. But often, unfortunately, the bargains are for smaller units e.g. 2 rooms or studio ones where often the p.s.f can …
