Dear all, If you plan to take Feng Shui seriously as a hobby, it’s highly recommended to invest in a good quality compass. Both Suunto ([www.suunto.com](http://www.suunto.com)) and Silva ([www.silva.se](http://www.silva.se), especially the Survey Master series) are excellent, reliable brands used worldwide by both professionals and serious enthusiasts. Suunto Pilot Compass For those interested in precision, the Suunto Pilot model stands out, particularly for its ability to be finely calibrated—even in environments with a lot of magnetic interference, such as vehicles. Before getting that great layout of yours signed-off! Always superimpose e.g. the ground floor layout onto the second storey and look out for the location of the stove(s) and toilets and vice-versa. Often, this is to check on whether the 2nd storey toilet is directly above the main door and/or dining table and/or altar and/or bed location on the ground floor etc...

Question: No choice to put dining table in the middle of the living room as it is small. ?Just hope that it is not an issue as it is right in front of the altar? Reply: The suggested layout is acceptable. However, for practical considerations, the dining table is positioned directly in the center of the living room; it is uncertain whether this arrangement obstructs movement, particularly for elderly individuals. As previously mentioned, numerous landed properties with an altar have it oriented towards the dining table: Please refer to the attached document. You will observe that the altar is frequently situated in the area indicated by the red …

Yes, in my opinion; just wrap it up old newspaper and either keep it away or throw it away. Such things always never place it near to ancestor tablet.

Layout planning of landed properties & common sense: Before signing off the approved plans; always super-impose the layout out plans: 1. Super-impose the 2nd storey layout plan onto the ground floor plan. And check that the 2nd storey toilet(s) are not directly above the ground floor main entrance door. Make sure that the toilet(s) are also not directly above the stove, a guest bed on the ground floor or above an altar. 2. For the 2nd storey, just make sure that the stove is not directly above one's bed which may be directly above the kitchen.

Source: www.scmp.com Incense fumes could do more harm to your health than tobacco smoke It's one of the familiar smells of Asia, from the temple to the family altar, but the next time you are surrounded by a cloud of incense smoke you may want to hold your nose. Research in Taiwan has lent credence to suspicions that the joss sticks and incense that are burned as offerings to the gods may get you to heaven far quicker than you'd like. Medical professionals have long suspected that joss sticks and incense - usually containing a blend of plant extracts and oils - emit harmful fumes when burned. Now, researchers from Taiwan's National Cheng Kung University in Tainan say jo…

Dear All, 1. Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew has consistently avoided having statues or portraits of himself displayed, despite his remarkable success. 2. In contrast, dictators often promote themselves through grandiose statues and propaganda photos. However, history has shown the downfall of such dictators in countries like Poland and Iraq. This analogy can be applied to the deceptive practices of certain Feng Shui practitioners who exploit unsuspecting individuals by selling them subpar products under the guise of Feng Shui. 3. These unethical practitioners tarnish the reputation of Feng Shui and deceive people for their own financial gain. Warm…

Dear All, According to the principles of Shapes and Form Feng Shui, it is deemed inauspicious to have a swimming pool or pond located on the western side of a house. This is due to the fact that the west side is linked to the white tiger, and having a pool in that area is akin to exposing the 'mouth' of the white tiger. It is advised against doing so, as a hungry tiger symbolizes financial loss or potential disasters. Warmest Regards, Cecil

@ Evergreen Park at Hougang Avenue 7 Any negative energy or harmful structures that may affect the living space? In the search for a new apartment, it is important to be mindful of any negative energy or harmful structures that may affect the living space. In the case of Evergreen Park at Hougang Avenue 7, the spikes on the open air carpark do not pose a threat to the 2nd storey apartments. This is fortunate as if there were apartments on the ground level, the trellis spikes could have created a poison arrow effect towards many of the units. Thankfully, this is not the case here.

1. In Singapore, this fact is not widely recognized or publicized. 2. When I first began practicing Feng Shui many years ago, I was fascinated by the auspicious measurements of the main entrance doors in the First Generation HDB flats. 3. Disregarding the grille gate of this particular home, the width of the entrance is considered auspicious according to the Feng Shui Ruler. Even when taking into account the support frames on both sides of the main door, it remains auspicious. 4. The origins of this phenomenon are unknown. It is possible that it occurred unintentionally. It is likely that a Chinese furniture maker or manufacturer was assigned to design an e…

Dear Anon & Emily, 1. Certainly, this is one of the most debated topics in Feng Shui. 2. To help address this issue, I want to cover several key points so that by the end, everyone has a clearer understanding. 3. It’s important to understand concepts such as: 3.1 Facing and sitting directions 3.2 The "Mouth of the House" 4. These two concepts are closely related. 5. In most cases, the main entrance of a landed property is considered the "mouth of the house" because it faces the frontage. This is usually the door we first see and enter when approaching the home from the road. 6. However, some landed properties have their main entr…

It is essential to ensure that new buildings, homes, Additions, and Alteration works are considerate of their neighbors. Careful consideration should be given to selecting appropriate materials and designs for external walls and roofing. Notably, myVillage in Serangoon Gardens darkened ts floor-to-ceiling windows in 2010, after nearby residents complained that the glass reflected too much sunlight and heated up their homes in the evenings. The neighbourhood mall subsequently replaced the reflective glass with two-way tinted glass a few months later. The regulatory update is so that designs can be enjoyed by all without causing a…

1. Under symbolism in Feng Shui, it is less than ideal to have a vertical joint-or-split-line exactly where the TV is mounted (which splits the TV exactly into half):- The red line shows clearly the split:- 2. This is because a piece of Formica laminate has a maximum length and width. And most important is that there is no one large piece. 2.1. Therefore nowadays with the feature wall covering more than 4 feet by 8 feet, someone there will always a joint between two pieces of Formica laminate. 3. If so, insists on having vertical joint-lines as shown, below:-

Wind Chimes used as CURES: 1. Wind chimes used as CURES must never be too colourful or too decorative. 2. Best to have HOLLOW rods and the preferred wind chimes have six hollow rods. But if one desperately cannot find those with six hollow rods, may consider as a last resort 5 hollow rods.
