house numbers
Dear Karen, The problem with auspicious and inauspicious number is that there are many many different ways at looking at it. For example, 4 in cantonese sounds like Die, but 4 is used in like 4 leave clover to represent good luck. So auspicious numbers to different people may mean differently. Some people like 4 others hate it. It is really subjective. In terms of feng shui one way of checking if any large number is good or not is to convert it to a single digit. ie 39 = 3+9 = 12 = 1+2 = 3. If 3 is an auspicious gua number for you, then it should be fine. ie 44 = 4+4 = 8. If 8 is an auspicious gua number for you, then it is fine. Or it represents the current flying star period ie period 8 it is also good. But as mentioned there are numerous ways at looking at it. most people will not want 44 because it is like Die and Die. But often, the most important is not the number of the house, but rather the feng shui of the house itself. Hope that helps. Sleep Direction
Dear Cassendra, The important thing about bed placement is that you should try to place the bed in a position if possible as shown in this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-bedroom.htm It is very common when you apply the sleep position that you are both exact opposite (ie what is good for you isn't good for the other). So the only thing you do is to check out the eight house to see which side of the bed you should be sleeping. (ie North side which is closer to the left side of the bed is disaster, while North-East closer to the right side of the bed is health. Then you should opt for the right side of the bed.) This way each of you get to sleep on the side where it is closer to your favourable sector. Usually where bed arrangement is out of the question, then you can only opt to make sure that at least the side of the bed you are sleeping is better for you. No need for any other items. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

good house facing but bad front door location
Dear Pam Landin, Generally, a house with good/excellentshapes and form is often more important than many other analysis. But because the house is your disaster, this may signify that this house isn't the best most suitable house for you. You can counter check this with your ba zi element, ie if you are a weak wood, and this is a North facing house Water, then this house has an element that is favourable to you. Even if the North sector is disaster, this will not be that of a bad. However, if the North is disaster, and ba zi element for that North is also unfavourable, then you should totally avoid this house. As both analysis are telling you that it isn't suitable. Our general advise, is that always try to ensure that the house isn't death or disaster where possible. This is because suitability related problems are not curable. Hope that helps. Actions to effect change of name
Hi, Personally, I usually do not recommend changing your name unless absolutely necessary. This is because the effort and hassle involved can often outweigh the benefits, especially if the new name is unlikely to bring significantly better luck. For a name change to be truly effective, it’s important that as many people as possible—especially friends and family—know about it and start using your new name. If people continue to call you by your old name, you won’t be able to fully benefit from the change. This is the most important point: if your new name isn’t used regularly, you won’t gain the advantages you’re hoping for. Additionally, you will need to legally update all your documents to reflect your new name. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Follow up Question - Five Elements
Dear Mariechel, As such if you choose someone you would like it to match the day element (ie if weak Earth would best match with Strong Fire for example, and if Strong Earth, weak Metal for example). You should know that a person's luck is always changing, every 10-year, every 5-year, every year, every 6-months, every month, every day, and every hour. So that is why there is ups and downs in everyone's life. In order to know how good a 10-year luck, you need to relate all these information together just like in this detailed ba zi analysis from our ba zi Premium:- Luck (1) [1918 to 1927] is an auspicious period as it favours your 10 yearly Big Luck Period. (!--Age 8 - 17 (1918 - 1927) => [yi-hai] (Wood-Water) Auspicious Period--> Possible Career Change / Change of Location: Hai Nobleman Stars available to help you: Hai & You [1918 to 1922] (yi-Wood) is an inauspicious period as it does not favour your 5 yearly Luck Period. [1918] wu-wu - Luck against you but Bad - [Yearly Analysis] [1st 6 months] wu - is a little auspicious. [2nd 6 months] wu - is very inauspicious. Earthly Branch Clash: zi-wu Earthly Branch Self Punishment: wu Possible Romance Encounter: Wu Only then will you know how good and what you can try to do to improve it. Hope that helps. Tai Sui for year 2005 (Rooster)
Dear Jason, In terms of Ba Zi, there will come a time where a year may have a clash or harm or punishment in conflict with your year of birth. This is quite common. Exactly, how bad, the detailed ba zi yearly forecast will be able to give you a better idea. For the chinese horoscope, this can be quite general. Meaning that it does not mean that all Rabbit for example will be bad. As mentioned, even for Rabbit there is a weak water Rabbit / Strong water Rabbit etc. So each will have slightly different impact. However, whenever a year is in conflict with your animal sign, then it is advisable to be extra careful in whatever you do that year. Try to always have more of your favourable elements/colours around you to improve your luck. This will reduce whatever impact that the clash/harm might have on you. Hope that helps. small fish tank in living room
Dear Daniel, Tai Sui in the West for example means that you should avoid disturbing him especially for renovations. Having a fish tank there does not affect the Tai Sui in anyway. So don't really think you will need to do anything. Whether or not you should relocate the fish tank depends more on the flying star analysis ie where is the water wealth sector this year for best luck. That I will not be able to advise you here unless an analysis is done. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Kitchen & Bathroom
Dear Tomo, Eight House can be applied no matter how small or large the house is. The only question you will have to ask is it useful to divide the house for any analysis anymore. In this case, the analysis such as finding which sector of the house is good for what is no longer useful. However, the directions where you can place the desk or bed position will still be useful. ie facing North direction is your longevity so this should be where your head is for sleeping. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

SECTOR PROBLEM ! (8 MASIONS)
Dear Wipy Sri, In this case, the dividing the house into 8 sector such as a pie would be more appropriate. 9 grid is good for certain layout, but 8 pie is more for for any layout especially to get exactly which sector falls under which direction. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Questions about Ba Zi Premium
Dear Anon, Welcome back! Hi Cecil, Coming back to your site after a long departure had been a very refreshing experience. Read in "what new" that all Pillars of Destiny Premium Users can access the new report version upgrades but I have difficulties accessing your paid reports.Perhaps it's because our payment were in cheque and not thru' the website? Will you be able to help updateus as your paid user overyour end so that we can access the paid reports? Incidentally, our whole building have been given afresh coat of paint and tiling work around the lift access area recently. a) Does that change our housefrom a period7 to 8 now? b) What is the flying star for our house like now if it's now period 8? c) What's our auspicious and inauspicious orientations? d) Is drilling hole e.g for curtain rail or frame also considered knocking or minor reno that is discouraged at locations with inauspicious orientations?

weak earth
Dear Halli, Generally, a weak Earth normally means you lack Fire and Earth which helps weak Earth be stronger. And have too much of Wood and Water which destroys Fire and Earth making it weaker. How much of each element you have exactly, only the paid report under the Balance of Five element, where it gives you a percentage breakdown of each element ie water - 4%, fire - 10% etc can tell you for sure what elements you need more or less. You enhance each element by either applying what the five element relates to:- ie Direction - North = Water element house ie Career - IT = Metal/Water element career ie Colour - Blue/Back/Gray = Water element colour ie Relationship - weak water person Otherwise, than that, you will have to work on your own Human Luck factor, ie find whatever items or things which can motivate you to improve yourself, work etc. Hope that helps. Mobile Homes and Feng Shui
Dear Sharon, The thing here is that there is no home that is mobile in the past, as such there is no specific feng shui analysis that you can really use for this. In such a mobile home, probably the application of making it comfortable and practical to stay in would be more important. The only few areas you can apply any feng shui concept would then only be either:- 1.To face the entire home in a certain direction when you "park" ie facing north - Prosperity. 2. Or apply the Ba Zi element ie North - Water element, etc. 3. The rest should be more like colour scheme of the interior and exterior should be suitable to you. Otherwise, nothing much else you can do. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

I need a career
DearChiew Kiat, Generally, ba zi analysis can only help you understand a little about yourself. Based on your info, you are a Strong Metal person, where water element and fire element both helps you to control the excess Metal. Thus, this means also that career that might be better for you fall under areas such as 1. Water element career " Advertising, Arts, Brewing, Communications, Computers, Drinks, Healing, Laundry, Literature, Manufacturing, Media, Music, Therapy " 2. Fire element career "Chemical process, Fashion, Housewife, Law (prosecution), Livestock, Marketing (sales), Oil, Public Relations, Sales " But remember, these are all just a guide. Ultimately, it also really depends on yourself, what special skills/interest do you have etc. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Work Direction.
Dear Sze Nee, The problem with suitability issues from analysis such as Eight House is there is no way to correct the problem unless you decide to change to a more suitable direction. Usually, if you are just an employee, there is very little freedom for you to say choose or correct a direction or even avoid using that direction. So the only thing you can possibly do is to try to improve your luck by ensuring that your ba zi elements are improved. ie if you are a weak wood, then say wearing more Water (blue/black/gray) or Wood (green/brown) will help you improve your luck. This can then help to offset the issues about the unsuitability. So basically, what you can do is to try to correct other areas that you are able to fix (ie your home, your personal colours etc). Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Massive cleanup of unverified posts in forum!
Dear Users, Firstly, we would like to apologise if some posts have never been verified for replying. This is due to several factors:- 1. The older forum interface didn't have very good admin module that allowed us to access older post easily. As such, if a post is too deep in the list, it may not be seen by us to approve it. 2. Sometimes duplicate postings were made, as such in the old forum interface, there wasn't an easy way to delete them as such we usually leave them unverified. 3. In the old forum interface, most messages which are posted as a 3rd or 4th reply, sometimes does not get noticed due to the way the forum sorts the system by main topics date rather than last reply date. 4. The old forum interface was getting too slow due to more and more users participating and posting messages. As such, it was getting very difficult to quickly clear the new postings. So there were messages which neverseen by us as such left unreplied. Anyway, since our new Forum Interface has been added, many of these flaws were corrected. Users should noticed that in the past couple of days, I have been doing a massive clean up, approval of unverified messages, as well as replying to as many messages as possible. As of today, most messages that were still outstanding until about Nov 2004, has been approved and attended to. Older messages still in the unverified queue has been deleted. This is to ensure that future postings will not be cluttered by the older posts. So users who still wants our reply, please re-post them again. In addition, I will personally be dedicating more time to maintaining the forum together with Cecil. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Resesarch

How to cure Eight House unsuitability?
Dear Shadeeda, Unfortunately, it is not possible to fix a suitability issue. You either suit the house or not. How else can you correct the problem except to change the direction of the home (ie move to a another house which is more suitable). Same for bedroom, bed position, if a sector of the house or bed position isn't suitable, then try to change to a different bedroom or sleep in a different bed position. This is not something which you can just correct unlike other concepts like an unbalanced flying star sector which you can attempt to balance the sector. Failing an analysis in one theory does not mean that your entire feng shui is bad. Just like an exam, if you fail to answer 1 question, but answered 3 correctly, you will still pass your exam. So point here is to attempt to fix up other problems that is correctable so as to attempt to compensate for this issue which you can correct. Unfortunately, that is about all you can do, especially on such suitability issue. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Five Elements Compatibility
Dear Anon, This is one way of analysing a relationship ie:- weak wood vs strong water is compatible based on five element relationship. Another more detailed way is also to include the Horoscope or Earthly Branch ie:- a weak wood rat vs strong water dragon - Most compatible a weak wood rat vs strong water ram - Less compatible because Rat and Ram not very compatible. The full element and horoscope signs makes an analysis more detailed thus more able to give you additional level of compatibility analysis. ie. working in a construction industry is Earth element, but if your job scope is the Sales and Marketing within the Construction industry, then your job scope is Fire element. Often, it is ideal that your job industry is favourable as well as job scope. But these are all just guides. Ultimately, how well you do also depends entirely on your interest as well as the necessary skills you might have that may make you successful in that field. ie a Sales person is likely to be successful if you have very good pursuation skills. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

New Office Feng Shui
Dear Benji, This has been question that has been posted time and time again. 1. When you take the entrance of the office from the main building entrance, you are actually taking performing a feng shui audit for the entire building itself. 2. When you take entrance of the individual office entrance, then you are actually performing an analysis of the individual office unit within the building itself. So when analysing an Office / Shop, you should take the reading from the office entrance or shop entrance. Remember, that Flying Star can be applied on a Macro or Micro level. So the frontage you choose will determine the scope of the analysis. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Questions on Ba Zi Element
Dear Chee Kiong, I won't know what theories or concepts other geomancer may have used as such not able to common on their analysis. Some geomancers uses Chinese Astrology, some use I-Ching, some use Ba Zi etc. Even those who use Ba Zi, a simple ba zi analysis can take your Year of Birth element, the more detailed one can take Day of Birth. Also how detail you analyse will also make an impact to what recommendations they will make. As such, so far from my experience, you can go to different geomancers, and there will different analysis results that may come out all depends on how information has been analysed. The only thing I can tell you here is that at Geomancy.net, we have worked out a series of tools that when used properly, will give you the best possible analysis results. In addition, all the analysis are done with as much details as possible. This will allow you to get the best possible analysis so that you can focus NOT on how to calculate the analysis. But rather to focus on analysis and trying to fix the leaks rather than working on the analysis. Though, I am sure this will not make it as easy for users, as seeking advise from two different masters will only lead to total confusion. So you have to make a choice to follow an advice completely from the source which you feel most comfortable with. Generally, any analysis done, as long as done with the correct tools will really not go very wrong as each Feng Shui theory available actually complements each other. Hope that helps. How to improve luck for selling house?
Dear Terri, In terms of selling a house, there is very little you can do using Feng Shui except to make the house look nice and clean and make a list of what are the benefits (ie near MRT etc). The only thing you can use Feng Shui if there are any good benefits based on feng shui to add value. Otherwise, nothing much you can really do. The other area which you can attempt to improve the luck is individually. ie based on your ba zi, ie a strong water person, so for example. You can try to wear more favourable colours ie Wood (green/brown). Improving your own personal luck may help a little. But ultimately still depends on your house location and factors. More than Feng Shui. As for improving your business, use the free ba zi report to determine some what element of career will bring you most amount of luck. But still for business, it is important that your business must be sound. Otherwise, no amount of feng shui can help. Hope that helps. Extreme cases
Dear Penny, Actually, the best way of assessing ba zi, is to use weak or strong element. Followed byfurther fine tuning using the Balance of the Five Element. You see no matter how extreme a chart is, it will in generally follow the same principles that as a Strong water person is strong because it is likely to have lots of Metal and Water, while lacking in Earth, Wood and Fire for example. While a weak water person has too much of the elements destroying or making it weak than elements helping to make it strong. So even how extreme a case this will ultimately be the results. This is where the fine tuning method which we use at Geomancy.Net using the Balance of the Five element by breaking down the elements in to percentage method, so that you can know at a glance which element has too much and too little. For example a Strong Water person can be extremely strong because it has too much more Metal (30%), than water 5%), or it can also be she has too much Water (30%), than Metal (5), or even that she has too much of both ie Water (30%) and Metal (30%). So this is where the balance of element helps you know exactly which element you need more or less. This goes the same even for the unfavourable elements. Say Earth and Wood are unfavourable element. But if the overall Wood is 0%, while Earth is 50%, that means a little wood is still acceptable, while earth should be avoided completely. The ultimate goal is to achiev 20% of all Five elements. This is virtually impossible to attain and or even calculate at any given time. So the percentage can only help you give you an ideal what elements you might need more or less. But ultimately, if you follow the general five element concept, elements that generally favour you will always help you regardless of which element has more or less. To get best results, you should use the Balance of the Five element. Thus, in our website, the extreme cases does not really make much of an issue. This has always been handled by the Balance of the Five element, which attempts to help you try to bring all your elements to a nice balance. As such, there really isn't a need to worry too much about the extreme cases, they are handled similiarly at our website. Hope that helps.
