Dear Anon, Usually, it would not be inauspicious, unless it is particulary, at the sector, diagonal to the room i.e. if there are road works carried outside the house, it may create some `disturbance' e.g. health problems for some. Dear Carolyn, 1. An L-shaped house need not necessary have `bad' Feng Shui. 2. Can I confirm if the sundial is at ground level or placed on an elevated pedestal. 2.1 If it if flat on the floor, this ok. 2.2 If it is raised and on an elevated pedestal, and if there are sliding glass, or a main door, it could inadvertently `slice' the main door or the house creating Sha Qi. 2.3 Usually, it is not advisable, to bury an animal at the frontage of the house. For future burial, any pets should be buried on the side of the house compound (as a last resort) none would be best. Avoid burying the animals also at the back of the house if possible. 2.4 However, it is not necessary to dig up, your pet in the current situation. In the initial burial, decay or would set in and Sha qi may be eliminated. But, this is minor. Usually, as mentioned above, the frontage of the house both what we can see and what we cannot see, (underground) should be `clear'. 2.5 The condition (I hope u do not mind me saying so) is not of a concern if we consider a `worse' event that of sewerage drainage pipes, flowing from e.g. the main road thru the house especially, if it criss-cross right under the main door or in a bedroom. http://www.geomancy.net/fs/under.htm 2.6 Usually, a water fountain would be more better suitated as a replacement to a sun dial. What important lessons you can learn here? 1. Where possible always look at the bigger picture. Secondary issues like the placement of a shoe rack or deciding the placement of it outside or inside the house? Covered or not covered are considered `peanuts' Feng Shui. 2. If one lives in a condominum, take advantage e.g. of its large fountain or swimming pool to enhance Qi. Questions like, can I place a fountain in my living room and how long must I turn it on are secondary. In the first place if one purchase a fountain and not prepared to turn it on, then what is the logic of getting a fountain after all. How much Beneficial Qi comes out of a living room fountain (trapped indoors) when compared to one outdoors? 3. My hope is that we should differentiate between Kindergarten Feng Shui and `correct' Feng Shui. 4. It is less important also to locate the `elusive' wealth corner in the home than to have overall favourable Feng Shui. I hope each of us can ponder over the above and achieve something in our life. Dear Kewpie, 1. It is very difficult to comment on the `generic' term, a townhouse. This is because, it also depends on the location it is sited, the plot of land holding the row of houses. The elevation, the front, the back areas in relation to Shapes and Form. 2. Personally, I have also purchased a townhouse unit, two years back and now it is nearly ready for occupation. What I did, to take advanage is, to looking at the Flying Star, using the Good House program which Robert specifically developed, mainly for our own use, to locate the best house amongst one of the town house. 3. We had an advantage because speed was essential in such a situation. We used our program to search for a good house. The report narrowed our search to several units. Here, we found a Double 7 house and it is the second unit next to the one at one end of (from the row). We thus use over combined theory of Shapes and Form, Flying Star and Eight house to gain us a competitive advantage. 4. As I mentioned earlier, it is always best to get a correct house (if possible) first round. This would give one a quantum leap and aid us in our `Earth Luck'. In fact, once this is done, I do not even normally need to do a Feng Shui audit for myself. And, the luck will usually hold true. Furthermore, I avoided getting a house with missing corners. 5. If it is a row of townhouse, again I must emphaise: 5.1. Check the location of the toilet. Since it is a new house, why let it cause problems. 5.2 For a townhouse, do check that Qi does not flow a straight path as usually, this is one of the major considerations since windows cannot be located on either all four sides of the house or three sides. Being human, if I do see an excellent unit, I will not hesitate to purchase it especially to stay or rent out. If the breadwinner and the spouse earn the same level of pay, we still usually consider the breadwinner (first). However, it would indeed be a plus point to have the spouse have the main entrance face an auspicious direction. (It would be `nice to have'). >Also, would you consider my house a fire element? Yes, Red is the most Yang of all the Yang colours. In general, if we talk about this type of barn with the door facing South, we can classify it as a Fire element house. However, if the elements in the house are properly balanced, quarrels can be neutralised. Flying Star theory would be useful here to locate imbalances and neutralise the sectors. Dear Anon, If the pair of hands are stretched out in a `receiving' position, it would not be `auspcicious' unless the hands hold something. A pair of `empty' hands symbolises e.g. begging, and if they are really in this `position' then, best not to display it at all. Dear Anon, 1. Whenever, we buy a piece of antique, it is best to find out more of it's history if we can. 2. It is not necessary that every piece of antique(s) are bad. 3. If one has an antique furniture, it may still have (absorbed) the Qi from its previous surroundings. 4. If it is only a single piece of e.g. wooden antique furniture, usually, the impact on its new surroundings is not that great. 5. But, if you do have a roomful of such antique furniture, for example, the whole house cluttered with it, the Qi from its old surroundings may still be present. 6. Some Feng Shui practitioners believe that by keeping too many antique furniture etc.. it may `change' a person's mindset such as becoming more `rigid' in thinking etc... 7. Some believe that as mentioned earlier, especially wooden furniture, it would have absorbed the Qi of the previous location. Time would be required to allow this to dissipate. Here, I am not too concerned if it is true or not as one furniture, unlike several furnitures, would make me more `concerned'. 8. I believe that most antique furniture are `clean'. There are some practitioners that believe that, if something had happened (or horrible) had happened to the past owner, especially a favourite piece such as their wardrope or bed, such `spirits' may come together with it. Dear Ann, Thank you for the information. Currently, it is difficult to know what is the actual cause. This is because, only a full audit and especially a site survey would be able to pin-point what is actually `wrong'. There are a few points: 1. Usually, due to time dimensions, unauspicious stars could have `flown' to that sector of the bedroom. 2. An indirect result could also be the clearing of trees. I am not suggesting anything but, if dogs become `noisy', without apparent reason, more observations may be required on this. 3. Do stand at the window, and see if there are any poison arrow aimed at the house. Especially, a lone lamp post which may now become prominent, because the trees are chopped off. Attached please find additional pictures on the layout of the place and pictures of the bungalow and condo. 1. The plot of land is an excellent `rectangle' shape. 2. The unit which was identified earlier, enjoys a quantum leap, because, wealth is fed by the bungalow. 3. The condominum block is also rectangular in shape and no missing corners. 4. The pool at the frontage of the condominum ensures, clear space. 5. In terms of Shapes and Form, the entire condominum enjoys `excellent' Feng Shui. 6. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the bungalow, as all its wealth feeds towards the specific unit of the condominium. 7. Although the specific unit, (as mentioned earlier) does not have double 7 Flying Star, this is a case where, `wealth' literally falls on the owners. Minimal Feng Shui is needed i.e. if one is not aware of Feng Shui, the condo owners, can continue to enjoy good Feng Shui. My observations of neighours staying here is that generally, all are doing very well both in their careers and home. One lesson here, is that if one buys a new home, do get your initial Feng Shui correct. Sit back and relax and enjoy other pleasures of life.

Dear Anon, 1. Please find pictures of a `small version' of the Chinese Abacus:- 2. The above is a small, abacus. There are larger ones. 3. Usually, they are made of wood. 4. What is the Chinese Abacus? It is a calculator. Where beads are moved up and down and by feel and looking at the beads, complex calculations are made. 6. An expert abacus user can easily calculate numbers faster than one can key in to a modern liquid display calculator. 7. Generally, one can say that the movement of the beads like the computer `bits' and `bytes' i.e. On and off system. 8. In fact, Singapore, introduced the abacus to the schools and this enable students to `fair' better at mathematics. Thus providing a competitive advantage to the students. Many other countries e.g. Taiwan have students who excel in using the Abacus. The speed and complexity of calculation by some of these top students can excel that of a computer or that manually done by students using other `techniques'. 9. Larger abacus are found especially (in the past) in retail outlets all over the country. These accountants, use it to do their accounts. Depending on the size of calcuations, some abacus, have more beads especially in the `top' divider row for such purposes. The soothing sound of someone `clicking' on it is simply wonderful. As I mentioned in several messages that, time is a precious commodity and I will be glad to help anyone if they provide me with pre-analysed information and not `raw data'. Your main entrance enjoys Double 7's if it lands directly at the main entrance door.
