myfs_139190
Master Cecil Lee and Robert Lee:I have been reading a lot about Feng Shui in the past few years, andtried to conform with the philosophy of feng shui, but I am stillstumped by one question to which I cannot find a clear answer. Maybenone exists but I have decided that I have to reach out to an expertlike you - so here it is:If you talk of geographical directions, I know where North, South, Eastand West are standing on my property. My home has its front doorfacing North. My back door is on the other end of the house (nowherenear the front door) and is facing the South. We only open our frontdoor once a day to let my son run out the door early morning and cutacross the lawn to the street where his school bus is waiting. Therest of the day, we use our attached garage to go out and come in tothe house and this garage is facing East. We also go in and out of theback door which is very close to the Garage and is in the South. Can you please tell me whether I should be treating my back door as THESOUTH and apply appropriate cures and keep a bird there, keep red colorand bright lights, etc. Also, should I treat my front door area foyeras THE NORTH and keep dark blue items and waterscapes, etc. My confusion arises from the fact that some experts say the front dooris THE SOUTH. Well, in my case, it is facing North if you are lookingat the heavens.Thank you so much for your anticipated advice. Staff Cecil Lee Posted April 24, 2009 Staff Share Posted April 24, 2009 1. When applying authentic Traditional Feng Shui, and if you are strictly applying Compass School Feng Shui, then you should be using the "magnetic compass".2. Not to complicate things, for example near the equator, the magnetic north is nearly equal to the geographic north. Even in other areas, there is a slight deviation, only.3. As mentioned under Para 1, above, authentic Traditional Compass School Feng Shui, is where, as you had given an example, your frontage should be and is North not South, while the South is the back of the home. This is particuarly so, if you are TAKING a reading using a normal compass (or regular compass).4. Not to be confused with the Chinese Luopan instrument. Even with this Luopan, it uses a magnetic needle. And only the wordings are calibrated, where North is South and South is North. Maybe this could have led to the confusion. 5. Your home based on the magnetic compass, thus should be SITTING SOUTH and Facing North. Thus, based on the compass, your Main door cannot be "SOUTH" but North.6. You are also mixing the Four Symbolic Aniamls concept: where briefly, South is represented by a phoneix (fire element), North = water or tortise, East = green dragon and west = white tiger. 7. My god!, it is more useful to use this concept under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui than what you are mentioning: 7.1 You said: "keep red color and bright lights, etc. Also, should I treat my front door area foyer as THE NORTH and keep dark blue items and waterscapes, etc. "7.2 What you had mentioned above under Para 7.1. is certainly NOT CORRECT! It is based on rudimentary or unfortunately : Kindergarten type of Feng Shui.
