hcherbal
Are sleeping lofts inauspicious in vaulted ceiling rooms? We will be moving into a new home in the Spring of 2000 which has many vaulted ceilings throughout. Our loft bedroom is quite small and we would be able to use the space more effectively if we could build a sleeping loft. It would be centered under the peak of the vault and about 3 feet at away at the closest point to the ceiling. I am worried that this will cause a 'divide' or 'separation' in our marriage or might, in other ways, be negative. Also, because it is a loft, there is no door to our room; since it is bad for a marriage to hang curtains (or can you, if they do not have a pointed top?), can we instead hang a beaded curtain? My son's room (he is one year old) will also have vaulted ceilings (from 8-20 feet tall). Is it auspicious to paint the ceiling like a sky, or should we drape fabric to create a false ceiling?Thank you!beth
Staff Cecil Lee Posted November 4, 1999 Staff Share Posted November 4, 1999 Dear Berth,Presently, it is hard to visualise the loft you are referring to. So I can only comment on some issues.1. I assume that you do have staircase going to the loft. A straight staircase is not as good as one with a landing and turns to the loft.2. If the house has many vaulted ceiling, I don't think one can help it. Usually, the higher it is the better. But 20 feet height of the vault is good:)3. It is not good to paint the ceiling like a sky especially using blue even if it looks like a sky as this colour also represents water and it will `weigh' down and may result in problems especially to the breadwinner.4. As Glyn has commented, one can do a Flying Star chart if your concern is about marriage. Especially if this inauspicious sector is located in your bedroom.5. It is good to have a window in the house and acceptable to place a curtain.Best to avoid the following as these affect the marriage:a. The bedroom must have a window.b. The bedroom should not have an odd shape.Let me congratulate you on your new home and wishing you and your family all the best:)Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 11/4/99 12:09:54 AM, Anonymous wrote:Are sleeping loftsinauspicious in vaultedceiling rooms? We will be moving into a newhome in the Spring of 2000which has many vaultedceilings throughout.
