2010 Flying Stars - Which profie should I use?

Recommended Posts

Dear Master Lee and staff,

First of all, congratulations on your website-- its no nonsense and practical as well as scientific approach to geomancy is a far cry from many new age/get-rich quick sites out there. I have been following your sensible advice for the last several years and I have learned many things.

I have only been learning about flying star theories recently and I must say it is very interesting. I have been trying out your tools and following forums topics on it.

My question may be a little silly but, which period should I use for my house flying star analysis? The house was built in 1971 and massively renovated (rooms added) in 1981. If I follow this, this would make it a period 6 house.

However, in 2005 I extended my room and its bathroom, which involved breaking down an inner wall and bricking up windows on an outer room and repainting the entire house. Does this count as a renovation (in which case it would be a period 8 house) or was the construction work done too small to be counted as such?

Attached are screen grabs of the two different results. As you can see, the distinction affects the analysis greatly, so I would like to know. Especially since my bedroom (now the family's breadwinner- is the southwest square and has somewhat worrisome results.

If it's period 6

If period 6

But if period 8

If period 8

Thank you so much, and my sincerest apologies for my lengthy post.

1. Glad that you found this forum useful and hope that you continue to benefit from it

2. Frankly, in my opinion; this Period "change event" for many persons; the most they may encounter it is roughly 3 of such events.

3. For example, most practitioners and many practise this art of Flying Star Feng Shui often at their late 20's and depending on which period they intersect with any of the Flying Star 20 year period - for example, if one is in their 20's the next period change if it occurs now is when this person turns 40 years of age and later maybe he/she may encounter it in he's 60's.

4. Why do I bring this out?

5. This is because, unlike daily occurence; for example, in Singapore, we have lots of apartments (flats) and all sorts of layout plans. Give me any even unusal apartment layout plan and can easily pin-point the centrepoint. But this critical 20 year change is more crucial before and after the event and like your situation of whether to assume Period 6 or venture to Period 7.

6. Frankly, based on my past experience of having seen only two of these "changes" as I am currently just 50 years old so my next encounter will be at say 2023 when I am 60 years of age.

7. Given this frank - opinion; not many can claim to specialise in this change event. Even for myself given just two changes so far.

8. What I am saying that there is again no right or wrong answer. In fact, there are some who somehow "miraculously" fly to the next period; for others; try as they might.... no use.... don't seem to be able to fly.

9. The two major contradictions of the continuum of "Hot vs Cold". One side says that unless the foundation of the home is completely knocked down or demolished by people like Osama bin laden and his gang. Else to this group; the hot side would say... not able to fly.

10. On the "cold" side; this group would state several conditions for flying. I have listed out some of these means of how to fly. Try to check back to messages around the 2003 to 2005 period where this change was a hype.

11. Now how do we realistically go from here?

12. The concensus amongst practical Feng Shui practioners are: Like what you had done - a "wonderful" job in drawing up two charts: one for Period 6 and Period 7.

13. Many practitioner if they have drawn up the two charts would often ask certain questions from those staying at that exitising place to establish the "history" of which chart seems more accurate.

14. Unfortunately, this is an inexact art. So, experience counts and or asking the right question or even have a keen eye to spot and test out "past " history of the home.

15. This type of "thing" = no right or wrong answer. As I mentioned, check the trends, history of an existing home, something like a polygraph testing by an "expert". Frankly, anyone can be an expert - keen eye

16. Further to what I had mentioned; "smart question(s) to askinclude:-

16.1. Are there frequent quarrels or relationship issues- when staying in the home. If so;often, flying star #3 is often in one's e.g. master bedroom and /or living room and or at the facing direction. For example, if the facing direction has #7 mountain #7 water but there is a star #3 then, such a chart seems to coincide with one's actual situation.

16.2. #5 at the frontage or that specific bedroom. Lots of illness or health issues. For example under Period 7, many who sleep in a bedroom located in the East - especially the female was prone to health issues.

16.3. Thus check where #5 and or #5 with #9 and or #2 are = concentrated and which chart and which sector.

16.4. Current prosperity stars are #8 water star and #8 mountain star. Check which sector they are under the different periods. For example; during 2003 to 2004; I was suprised to get so many cases and each time I visit the home; many of those who had stayed in a Period 7 North 1 and NW 1 home had the most problems during the transition from #7 to #8. As suddenly #7 turned bad and for NW the luck was trapped at the #8 centerpoint of the home.

17. The above are some of the better questions to try to narrow down or zoom towards which chart I could use.

18. Frankly there are dozens more of such questions that can be looked at.

19. For professional Feng Shui practitioners like myself; we even have our very specialised chart see attachment where we can interpret the Eight-One combinations e.g.

North-West direction: [5] & [4] - Conflict of Star 5 with Star 4. Lost of Wealth, bad period.

20. For us our task of seeing which chart is more accurate is definitely both much faster and accurate compared to the layperson or DIY guy given that we have developed special tools to further help us. No choice; this is both working smart and productive! As we see thousands of cases (to evaluate and come up with proposals).

1. The famous Chinese sage: Confucious said that "if he can live another 50 years; he would like to dwell more into understanding the I-Ching or book of changes".

2. This implies that al human beings have lifespan.

3. No one can claim a ONE solution to how to "guarantee" a change from one Flying Star Period built to another.

4. Thus if anyone does claim that they have the answer? We must take it with a pinch-of-salt.

Dear Master Lee,

Thank you so much for your very comprehensive answer. It was very helpful indeed! The yearly planning "gurus" always tell us to look at where we are now-- but I guess we must look at the past to even know where we are!

Looking at the charts with the added perspective of your explanation has made it so much clearer. Looking at it now, there is no question of which chart to use (Period 6 Very Happy) as past events and occurrences fit more with one than the other.
.

Thank you too for your professional sample -- I have learned new things again seeing how your read those charts .

It's all just a new and very interesting science for me, thank you again for sharing your time and knowledge. (And don't worry, I'm sticking to beginner things like fixing leaks for now. As you have said, a little knowledge in the wrong hands is a very dangerous thing.
Very Happy
)

What you wrote above, enforces the "pro" "hot" camp that the most effective or 100 precent method of changing an existing home's qi is to tear it down and re-built. Else; in my opinion, there will certainly be more cases where lots have been done under other Periods and yet, still may not fly the home to another period.
