If you can’t see the Pavilion, you might still hear noise from it. How does that happen? 1. If your unit faces the Precinct Pavilion, try to pick a higher floor to avoid looking into it. Funeral Wakes can happen without warning and may take place during special occasions such as Chinese New Year. 2. Even if your unit doesn’t face the Pavilion, you might still hear activities if you live nearby, like chanting or music played at a Malay wedding. Absolutely great that the placement of the precinct pavilion at one end of HDB Bishan Terraces, away from residential units, is excellent planning. This thoughtful design helps reduce potential concerns such as noise or undesirable views during certain events, creating a more comfortable and harmonious living environment for residents. Case Study: If you don't want the male breadwinner’s career to be impacted, make sure south-facing units do not have their kitchens, especially the stove, in the northwest sector. Sample illustration of a typical HDB unit facing south or southeast 1. Based on a quick review of just one stack or unit, for example, it’s clear that both the kitchen and the stove inevitably end up in the inauspicious Fire at Heaven’s Gate—the northwest sector. A quick sample shows that stacks 310 and 342 have kitchens located in the northwest sector. Other southeast-facing units (if any) are also affected.
