Leaks

Dear Cecil,
We usually enter the house from the garage door. There is a direct wind path
between this door and back of the house. Should we place a cover (ie: additional
door) that completely closes that path? We currently use trees but they don't
cover all.
As for the current front door, in front of it there are 2 windows and a set of
glass sliding doors (in living room). According to your tip, I should hang 2
bottle gourds. And how about the sliding doors? Any fix I should add?
Just beside the front door, there are 2 windows and 1 glass wall. Is this
considered "house with open mouth"?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Wasis

Dear Wasis,
Yes, this is usually a leak. But it would not be good to have an additional door. The additional door would totally eliminate any qi coming into the home. - Making it far worse off (financially).
What is needed is a screen or partition (if possible) - miminum up to the height of the door frame.
The other option is to close the windows of the back such that it is not directly facing this garage door. And place a bottle gourd on the side where the windows are opened.
Please see below:-

There is not much choice. do not open the front door together with the sliding door opened.

Yes, in my opinion, there are too many `mouths' in your home especially, if you open most of the windows/ two sliding panels and even the front door. Plus, the side windows - if they are immediately close the the front of the house.
Such a house will not prosper unless, you have a proper balance of the openings or the `mouth' of the house.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil

Can I use trees as a partition since it is open area behind the garage? And where should I place the partition?

Fortunately, we seldom use the sliding door. It is closed whole day.

I think you should take a look at the picture I'm attaching for a better understanding. The current front door is at C.

Also, I have a water reservoir tower and laundry area at the back of the house. Is this considered leak?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the layout. If you still have the flag pole, this is not in a favourable direction.

The laundry area is considered not a leak. Is the water reservioir tower covered.

Dear Cecil,
What do you think about my planning to place a partition of trees in the
backyard (please see the attached picture I sent along with my last email)? Is
it effective to encounter the direct path?

Since it is a removeable flag pole, I think it is not an issue anymore. It has

been removed.

Both underground water reservoir and water reservoir tower have covers at their

tops. So that one cannot see water.
Thanks in advance.

A row of bush rather than a partition of trees would be a better choice. If you are using trees, they usually end up growing tall and `beyond control' after 3 to 4 years. And a row of trees need to be planted spaced out at least 2 to 3 feet from each other.
Depending on the type of tree, they often leave behind a huge area of shadow below the tree making the area, too yin. Contrast this with lower shrubs or bushes or simply, creepers on fencing which are much easier to maintain.
Since the water tanks are covered up often this is no longer a major issue.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
