The explanation of binding element

My meaning of a the binding element is the element which smooth the relationship between two different elements.
For example a strong wood, and a weak earth person is likely be comfortable with each other if they are in constant contact with fire element.
Thus, fire is considered the binding element.
This is because without fire, the strong wood would destroy the weak earth. Thus not compatible to stay together.
However, with the introduction of fire, the strong wood would be weaken to produce fire (which is good for strong wood person) at the same time the strengthened fire would strengthen the weak Earth. Thus, both would benefit from this.
