Dining Room and Some other stuff

Dear Cecil,

Thanks alot for your help on the kitchen! Really appreciate that!

I have a few more questions which I need some help on:

1. Dining Table - (please see attached picture A) If our dining table is not placed directly in front of the main door of the house but sort of on the diagonal side of the wall, is there a problem with it? How can we rectify if it's a problem?

2. Living Room Windows (from same picture A) We did away with our balcony and converted that to part of the living room. But we realise that from our living room windows, one of the apartments from the opposite block has a four-faced buddha at their balcony that kinda faces almost directly towards our windows. Is that considered sha-qi and what can we do about that?

3. Master Bedroom window faces T-Junction (see picture B) We live on the 9th floor. But I notice that our master bedroom window directly overlooks a pedestrian walkway between 2 HDB flats and towards a main road and the LRT. A constant breeze comes into the house from here. Will that affect us in any way and what can we do about it?

Thanks so much for your kind patience and help!

-Amy

Yes, this is very common and in-fact can be considered a "non-issue" or no-issue.

Traditionally, most people would place their buddha facing out of their windows. This is like sitting on a mountain, facing a water (window) position.

In my opinion, usually, your block or unit would be quite a distance away from the neighbour's. And it is not like their buddha intrudes into your home. In my opinion, this is also a non-issue. Much like someone's main door facing our main door. Not much we can do. It is not good to place a ba gua mirror or so facing back towards the neighbour since this is only a statute of a buddha.

A pedestrian walkway is unlike a major road hitting into our unit. If this is a road, it may have an impact upto the 2nd storey apartment. But since you are at 9th storey or so, it is a welcome to have open clear space to allow air into your unit from this side.

Warmest Regards,
Cecil

Dear Cecil,

Thanks for your reply!

However, based on my question 3 on the master bedroom, I have a further question about it. As shown in my previous diagram, since there are 2 hdb flats by the side of the pedestrian walkway, do the corners of the 2 hdb flats constitued sha-qi aimed at our master bedroom? What can we do if it is?

Thanks alot!
