1. All three may be considered "herbs" of sorts. Pomelo leaves are crushed and often used as remedies for arthritis & aches. 2. The closest equivalent "Chinese" thing is as you had mentioned from the citus family. In Asia, there are at least three variants of the citrus plants - many that have adapted to their country. 3. The citrus fruit especially lime is also used for "cleansing rituals/beliefs". For example, when someone felt that he/she has bad luck - flower bathing ritual includes a cut lime (cut into two pieces) combined with the flower - after a bathe to symbolically wash away bad luck... 3. While ecucalyptus can also be used, abeit, more exotic than the a…

These are some of the considerations:- 1. An ordinary compass may be affected by metal near-by. Thus if one's home has concrete with steel-re-bar in it; the compass readings may affect the compass. 2. In fact, it is always best to take a compass reading even outside of the home especially on a grass area (but again) some grass areas may have embedded metallic items. 3. Thus, take a few readings or use the street directory type of reading... do a search and there are some examples of doing so. 4. Frankly, it does not matter whether you take a reading from the pillow, the centrepoint of the bedroom, the living room; so long as the compass needle always matches and does not…

Hello shifus! My husband's and my life gua are both 2 and I think my house gua is 8.(if my back is facing front entrance, I am facing SW direction) - same for my master bedroom, For sleeping direction, I am deciding if it should be facing NE or SW. From research is both seems auspicious. SW facing will be same as current planned layout. However the line of vision is towards other houses. And facing SW, line of vision will be towards the landed properties and reservoirs which we prefer. Would like to find out from your expertise which is better suited for us. Also, due to space contraints it has already been decided that my study/computers will face the SW d…

Dear Glyn, Truly sad to hear about the series of mishaps. On the surface, like you mentioned it looks like the effect of the Grand Duke. Perhaps, Shapes and Form may (or may not) be a further cause of it especially if the building profile has been `altered'. This is because, Shapes and Form has been known to result in such tragedies. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi, I have a bedroom door which faces the toilet door head on, so we are intending to shift the door away from that side of the room. Instead, the bedroom door will open into the Living Room, facing the TV and sofa. It will not face the main door or any other openings. Is this ok? Or is this arrangement also very bad as compared with the bedroom facing toilet? 2ndly, can I install ceiling fan over the master bed? Or cannot have anything at all over the bed? THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Dear Shawn, Shawn lim wrote: The lucky/unfavourable colours are mentioned in mostly primary colours - red, yellow, blue etc. Yes, this is because these colours are the key colours that make up the other secondary colours. Shawn lim wrote: Orange, pink (fire/earth), purple/plums, copper (reddish) and grey.I am a bit confused about the colourbrown. Some say it is earth colour while others say its wood. which is it? Frankly, for secondary colour, it is harder to define due to the fact that if the colour is lighter/darker the element can be different. Orange for example, if light orange more ie more towards like gold colour, it is made up of more Yellow (earth) than Red…

Hi, Here, we should classify knifes or sharp objections into either: 1. Display items 2. Kitchen Ware Under display items, we should never display swords or knifes directly facing a main entrance door. This is indeed inauspicious. Similarly we should not display these in our bedrooms. For Kitchen ware, it will be a more commonsense approach to ensure safety in the home especially if we have very young children. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. In general, bi jian or "friend" relates to person to person relationship. 2. Person to person relationship can be between: husband & wife / son to father / a person to another person. 3. For the Chinese, generally, are more cautious (due to upbringing) and many Chinese don't open up immediately especially to strangers. 4. The higher score generally is akin to like being more easier to make friends. 5. Usually the norm for any of the ten dieties is generally 0 to 2. Anything above this is higher. 6. The rationale for 0 to 2 is that under the Ten Deiities; contrary to popular belief; a person say with all Ten deities at 0 or 1 is considered a well rounded or has a…

Please note that the 10 Yearly Luck Pillars shows on average each 10 yearly luck of a person. It is based on an OVERALL AVERAGE luck for that 10 years. In any ba zi report, it will have the Yearly and even 6th monthly luck. For example even in any 10 year period; there are always "ups and downs" even for any year and even every 6 months.

Hi, Ideally, not good for the male head career and overall luck. On the other hand, If a kitchen should usually be an auspicious sector of the spouse. This will help or even lessen the concern for the male head breadwinner. This is one reason why sometimes a kitchen at NW is bad for some but no issue for others. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. Frankly, Feng Shui is not a cure all. 2. What is often, really needed is to do a full assessment based on the Holistic Approach to finding out what is wrong. 3. The Holy Trinity of Luck:- 3.1. Luck comes in three forms:- 3.2. Heaven Luck - born with 3.3. Earth Luck - Feng Shui of the home and office 3.4. Human or man luck 4. Only through a full assessment - in particular: the review of one's Heaven luck and Earth Luck can one get a bigger picture to identify what are the issues and problems, first.

Hello, Is the building across and to the left of my apartment a poison arrow? Or is it ok because the arrow is not directly facing me? If it is a poison arrow, could you please tell me how I can protect my home? Thank you,

These are the following assumptions:- 1. As you had not mentioned the birth chart of the apartment: if it is a Period 7: 1984 to 2003; then:- 1.1 It is disadvantages to place a water feature atyour proposed location markedin RED as "C". Depending on whether it is aSW2 or NE2 facing direction, a water feature, there may inadvertently inflame a star #3 at that sector. 1.2Especially ifit is a SW2 facing direction, then the water wealth is at marking "A". While marking B is suppose to be theauspicious indirectauspicious water wealth spirit sector. 1.3 WARNING or NOTE: 1.3.1 If the apartment is a Period 8, NE2, then best to avoid a water feature at Marking "A". Whil…

Dear Anon, This is a very good question. Generally, in my opinion, this is very common in the West. Especially, if there is a "lovely" bay-window just behind the bed-head. But locally in Singapore, this is often not a good idea for the following reasons. And these reasons are often "common-sense". In Singapore, majority of the homes are apartments (flats) or high-rise and it is often not too good an idea to have the bed-head against the window:- 1. Unfriendly neighbours! There are occassions where inconsiderate neighbours throw out cigarette butts and sometimes it may fall down into an open window. And if are beds are close to or next to the window, there can be a p…

Hi, i was running a report report on a house number on a property I want to purchase. The house number is 11800 and it was build in the 90’s and remodeled (roof shingle replacement, flooring, etc) this year. The report using the two periods are drastically different. Can you tell me if that changes anything with the remodel? And is house number a big deal? Or would I rather consider other major factors? Daisy

Hello Mr. Lee! I would like to ask you, which do you think are the most suitable dates for: 1) Collecting and storing our old (2018) feng shui therapies. 2) "Big Cleaning" before new year enters in February 5th, 2019. 3) Placing the cleansed / new therapies for 2019. Which is the method to figure out the above dates for each year ahead? Thank you very much!

Are metal roofs, which are increasingly popular, bad feng shui? Storm damage requires new roof. Currently have trad shingles, with a metal roof on a low pitch extension (too flat for shingles) across back of house which faces east and a medium sized lake as well. Is going full metal too much metal? I am Sagittarius/Water Dragon. Thankyou, wrsjr.

Dear Anon, 1. More importantly, for a site, it should also have excellent Feng Shui based on Shapes and Form School. For example: 1. Avoid having a drain or water position behind the house. 2. You piece of land in relation to the neigbhour. Is the land lower then the neighbour? Is it on a slope? There are many more issues to be looked into. 2. The eight house theory has its limitation in that it is best used only for finding the house is suitable to the breadwinner (main door) and the various bedrooms that your family members will occupy. 3. More advanced theories such as Flying Star should be used. My suggestion is that if you want a `worry' free house, it is best to get…

Hi, My house located at the middle of L shape, we built low brick fence wall with garden bed with the brances plants like hedges along behind the brick fence wall. We planted branches plants so they can grow taller than low brick fence wall in order to block the street where’s cars coming in to the street (from left side), it is an end of street, on the right from front of house. Cars coming through from left. The council planted a seed tree (the tree has grown about 1.5m height) in front of our front yard ( in front of our brick wall fence) location is not exactly in the middle of L (but sort of blocking street a bit from cars coming through - right hand car). Th…

1. For the Chinese "ancient" coins:- Under the five elements concept: one notice that it has a square hole in the middle. The square hole represents earth. Thus, Earth (square hole) supports Metal (copper coin). And the red string (or some red) is suppose to "bind" or "control" the entire coin. 2. Hulu tied with red string:- In my opinion, no precedence other than RED being considered as an auspicious colour (color) for the Chinese. And many decorate it with RED. Not only the hulu but many trinkets or decorative items also often tied with red string. For example, the Chinese Palace Lanterns. Each of it's legs are decorated with red strings (tassles). No specific reas…
